In the reality -
only Russians are given the worst rooms on 0 and 1 floor, in which there is such a smell of mold, which is dangerous for health and they refuse to change
In reality, they have even and odd numbers, oh cat. it is not said on the site - odd ones are the worst, and to change to even one you have to pay extra 30 euros per day
paid drinking water and internet
the furniture is tattered and rotten, this cannot be in a 4 star hotel
cockroaches
saw a large black snake on the territory of the hotel, which crawled into the bushes
And most importantly - the forced poor operation of air conditioners, it works like a fan
there is an elevator, but in the 2 weeks that we were there it never worked
Meals for Cuba more or less, if without claims
Local drinks - chemistry of various colors, normal - only for money.
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The desire to rest in Cuba is no more.

Didn't expect anything special from the hotel. The hotel fully justified the money spent on it and at a cost it is quite affordable. We just wanted to visit Cuba and enjoy the ocean. Well, the rest understood that everything would not be perfect for such a limited budget. We were especially concerned about food. In this regard, everything is very good. The choice of food is not huge, but you definitely will not stay hungry here. A lot of different fish, lobster shrimp, of course, are not served, but sea products are present. Chicken, pork and beef, however, they do not know how to cook the latter at all. Great grill. We really enjoyed having lunch there. Small selection of salads. Pretty good selection of sweets. Six kinds of fruits. Various garnishes. Especially rice in a different form. Alcohol here is just a river of high quality and for every taste. Good cocktails. Good coffee shop. In general, it will be extremely difficult to stay hungry) Well, unless you are a gourmet, but then choose another hotel. There are no super parties in the hotel, but quite a lot of fun. There were also foam parties and pretty good shows every evening. Loved the beach party. In general, do not get bored. The staff are nice people in the hotel even there are a few people who speak Russian helped a lot this moment especially when buying excursions. The staff does their job well. The rooms are ordinary furniture good to sleep. In general, there is nothing to tell about the room quietly, the neighbors can not be heard cleaning is regular. What else is needed. In general, we chose the hotel according to the budget and didn’t really count on anything, we just wanted to get into a normal hotel with normal conditions. Now a couple of things you might not like. Internet is paid for two cookies per hour. The speed is high enough to even arrange a video connection, but don't count on more. Beach towels for a deposit and on the beach, although there are enough sunbeds, there are old ones. But otherwise, no complaints. A good inexpensive option.

I’ll start my review from the beach, this is what we went for) The beach is very clean in the mornings every day it is cleaned. There are practically no herbs, everything is collected and exported. Good easy entry into the water. You get to the depth almost immediately, it is unnecessary to go far and at the same time there is a fairly wide strip near the coast where kids can splash around.

Good easy entry into the water. You get to the depth almost immediately, it is unnecessary to go far and at the same time there is a fairly wide strip near the coast where kids can splash around. There are also water activities from free canoes and catamarans. And of course, the underwater world is far from Egypt, but still they didn’t bring the mask with them in vain) Another fun is feeding birds, or rather pelicans, you can say they beg for food and eat from the hands so accustomed to people) Part of the animation takes place on the beach, in particular beach volleyball, beach discos. There are enough sun loungers, towels in good condition, they are given at the reception, but you need to leave a deposit. Local businessmen walk along the beach offering to buy various small things, they took coconuts from them. It’s very cool to lie high and admire the amazing view and sip coconut milk through a straw) Moreover, the sellers do not bother to call you, they will come up and in no way interfere with your rest. Cool funny animators. They arrange various competitions, there were also foam parties and shows. And dancing, aerobics are all very well organized. And another feature of the hotel is a night club and it is not only for guests but also for locals there is very cool, we were delighted. The hotel didn't disappoint either. Beautiful with nice clean pools. All vegetation is well maintained. Everywhere is clean. In general, what everyone especially wanted was a gorgeous beach and fun. And the cost was within our budget without sacrificing anything. Now about the other advantages of the hotel, albeit not so bright for us) The food is good and varied. Yes, wow, you won’t say, but the choice of norms and delicious. Finding something to eat during the day is not a problem at all. The alcohol is very good, the cocktails are excellent. Great sweets and a good selection of fruits. In general, everything you need for a great vacation for a reasonable price is there!

In outline! The beach is beautiful plus great fun animation. The food selection is excellent, you will not stay hungry) They cook deliciously. The room is not to say that it's super, but everything you need for living is there, not killed, they clean it well. The staff knows their stuff and works hard. Decent hotel to visit again! The beach is cleaned every morning.

The room is not to say that it's super, but everything you need for living is there, not killed, they clean it well. The staff knows their stuff and works hard. Decent hotel to visit again! The beach is cleaned every morning. The weed is caught and hauled away. Gentle entry into the water sand beauty around. It is convenient that the depth is close and the kids have a place to splash around. True, the underwater world is not rich, but you should take a mask with you. You can feed pelicans almost from your hands, which is also an additional fun. Sunbeds shaft is always free. Never occupied. Beach towels are issued at the reception on a deposit. Of the free water activities, you can swim on a catamaran and canoe. Football and volleyball games are organized on the beach. There are quite a few sellers wandering along the beach, but they are not annoying. We took from them what they break right in front of you a tube and buzz) You bask in the sun and sip super milk! Animators do their best to diversify your holiday. Competitions, contests. There are performances in the evenings. For children there is a pool club, playground. Swimming pools for adults and children are clean and do not smell of chemicals. I think that the ratio of cost to quality of rest in this hotel is just excellent. And last but not least, the food. There was not one dish that was badly cooked, everything was very tasty, the choice of food was excellent. There are no complaints about alcohol with rum and the rest, too. The cocktails are delicious and the bartenders are very friendly. We had a superb rest and were very satisfied!

There are almost no comments about the hotel. Animation is weak. There are of course shows and local live music, but in principle everything is pretty lazy. I also advise you to take euros with you and not dollars when exchanging for cookies, it’s more profitable. You can change money directly at the reception.

I also advise you to take euros with you and not dollars when exchanging for cookies, it’s more profitable. You can change money directly at the reception. There we took a card from the Internet. The hotel itself is far from new. We liked the room. Very cozy and clean. Cleaning daily without delays and reminders. There is everything you need and there is also a thermos that will be very useful for you on the beach to collect drinks in it, which is very convenient. Electronics are working, bedding, towels are clean. The beds are comfortable, which is more, in principle, you need) The TV is modern, although we still didn’t watch it. Upon arrival you will be given a bottle of water. Be sure to save it will come in handy. Wake up then collect some water there. The room has a spacious balcony. The area is small. There are plenty of sunbeds in the pool, all plastic comfortable. Bar at the pool and on the beach. Well, the beach is a fairy tale with this you will not lose. The entrance to the water is great. Rescuers are always on site, and as a bonus, you can always buy cheap cigars and rum from them. There are plenty of sun loungers on the beach. You can also have lunch at the beach bar, although the choice is tiny, if you are too lazy to go to dinner at the main restaurant. Well, food. Choice of norms but all can be said the same. There were shrimp. Always meat, fish and good pastries. Always varieties of four ice cream. In general, if desired, from what was not difficult, it was possible to diversify the menu ourselves. There are few Russians in the hotel here, this is a minus for someone plus. We went on various excursions. But I won't talk about them here.

The hotel is good with the choice not wrong! The food is delicious and the selection is great. Beautiful beach and fun animation. The staff is polite and welcoming. And the number is quite decent, which is rare in Cuba. We all loved it and had a great holiday! As for eating or drinking, there is no problem. A lot of food, a lot of seafood and meat dishes.

And the number is quite decent, which is rare in Cuba. We all loved it and had a great holiday! As for eating or drinking, there is no problem. A lot of food, a lot of seafood and meat dishes. There is a choice of soups, side dishes, salads. Fruits vegetables. No queues or rudeness. Dishes without chips and thoroughly washed. Tables are well cleaned. Drinks are local, sea of rum, good beer. Good cocktails. Good baking. I will not try to describe in detail what we ate, as this will turn out to be a huge review) In general, we are satisfied with the food. The beach is clean and constantly cleaned by a tractor that cleans the grass every morning. The sunbeds are good and there were enough of them for everyone. The pools are also cleaned daily and there are plenty of sun loungers. For entertainment, I’ll say this in the evening, it’s rather weak, and during the day it’s fun and children’s animation is also good, you can safely go here with children. There is a children's pool, playground, club and animation for children. We took a couple of excursions for general development) But we are seals and we love to sit in a hotel, so I won’t write anything about excursions. For our room where they lived, I'll put a solid four. This is me talking about furniture that is far from new, although of course it does not fall apart, but it is worn there and shabby. But the bed is comfortable to sleep well and the linen is good. Vodichki brought little, I generally drink water, but it’s not a problem to buy more. There is a free safe in the room and there is a good hair dryer, I dragged my mine so far in vain) Summing up, I’ll say this, you can safely take the kids with you and you yourself will really like it here as an option, I think it’s quite decent!

The hotel is worth it to return to it we loved it! Well, a few more details. Sandy clean beach. Every morning the grass is harvested by a small tractor. The entrance is smooth, gently sloping to a depth not far from fifteen to twenty meters with a tape measure. There are, of course, a few fish, but still dive to see what is there. Almost tame pelicans walk along the beach, they even let you touch them) Beach towels are issued on bail, normal clean, not worn out towels. You can take it at the reception. Lots of sun loungers never had a problem with free ones. On the beach you can play football, volleyball and other games. It is also free to swim on a catamaran or canoe. Traders walk along the beach and buy coconuts from them, and so they mostly wear various nonsense. The animation is generally not bad, but in the evenings there are weak shows, but during the day there are many different competitions. We took fishing very cool, even caught some kind of fish. We went on several excursions, but I won’t write about it here) There are also entertainments for children, for sure, we didn’t delve into the children until we have our own. But I know for sure there is a kids club. Swimming pool and nice playground. The territory is green. The pool is clean and cleaned daily in the evenings. Right in the pool there is a bar. There are always a lot of sun loungers all the same, people come here for the sake of the ocean, well, unless the weather does not allow, then it makes sense to use the pool. The food was also very good for us. The cuisine is adapted to our stomachs without specific spices. A lot of seafood also ordered separately lobster. A large dish includes a salad and a squid and a fish fillet. Delicious. A lot of fish for lunch were treated to shrimp and mussels, this is about a day later. There is always plenty of meat. Fresh fruits. Alcoholic drinks are high-quality sea rum) The beer is really only light, but my husband and I prefer dark. Great majito. And the rest of the cocktails are doing very well. Well, for the number so solid four. The furniture is no longer new, but you can live if you do not pay attention to scuffs. The main thing is that nothing creaks, nothing fell off. Yes, and they explained to us that everywhere in Cuba it’s like that, or at least in this price category. I clean normally even for a modest tip twist beauty. Electrical appliances worked properly. The bathroom is quite normal in size, there is a hairdryer and in vain I brought my own with me, the voltage did not fit. A bottle of water is provided daily per person. Bathroom renews shampoo etc. Plus in room safe for free. In general, quite normal for a stay.

Lived there the 2nd half of January. To be completely impartial, the hotel is old and unpresentable, but given the specifics of the destination, and especially in comparison with other hotels of the same category and similar cost that I am familiar with, Tuspan is not so bad, but rather good. To begin with - my first impression of the hotel as a lyrical introduction.

Brought from the airport, as usual, closer to the night, namely at 21-40, dinner until 21-30, the aunt-receptionist says - go have dinner. I go into a restaurant - two Canadian teenagers are sitting eating up, there are no more people except for the staff cleaning the hall. A manager like that runs up and yells, showing the clock that dinner is over, and in response, yells that she arrived 5 minutes ago and I want to eat. Fine, he says, let's just hurry. I went for food. I remember my constant bewilderment when reading other people's reviews at the sight of phrases like "Cubans / Dominicans always dance and sing". Here I myself was convinced that they really “dance and sing”, scooping up the remnants of food from the vessels in front of my nose or right after I scooped up this food, collecting dirty tablecloths and napkins, taking out dishes, etc. Everyone sang something loud. Who did not sing, he yelled at the top of his voice to the interlocutor across the hall. In short, my dinner was unexpectedly cheerful. I still managed to snatch something from the food, ahead of the cleaners with a scoop, while I immediately fell for the hook of a small soup plate, more about this a little lower, in the section on nutrition. Upon arrival, as usual, they put me in a casemate-type room on the 3rd floor, with a "view" of the balcony wall above human height, with virtually no access to daylight. Everything there was ancient and dead, especially the bathroom. Of course, I didn’t want to stay there and the next morning I moved to the upper 4th floor, the bathroom there turned out to be 10 years newer and the view of the golf course and the ocean on the opposite side of the peninsula from the beach. In the process of changing the number, my HR cream was stolen from me, this did not surprise me much, because under the same circumstances, on my previous Cuban vacation, 10 cookies were pressed from me. As far as I understand, this is done in the hope that the theft will not be detected immediately and it will be impossible to blame a specific maid. I can only advise you to be extremely vigilant in such cases. In principle, the second room with furniture of very shabby veneer could be described as miserable, but in the main and in general it suited me, everything worked in it, besides, I saw rooms in Cuba and much worse, and much worse, in a hotel of the same level, including a sin to complain. From dawn until 6 pm, when it started to get dark, the room was all flooded with sun, the mattresses on the beds were excellent, super-hard, the refrigerator and the funny TV box performed their functions without fail, there was also a large balcony, a free safe and extremely useful to me in those conditions thermos, bed linen and towels are new and of decent quality. Among the minor shortcomings, I can note the absence of both a removable shower and a bidet built into the toilet, which, of course, is inconvenient for women, frail artificial lighting of the room and bathroom, no duvet covers are provided at all, instead of them there are only sheets, on an icy tiled floor in rather cool conditions. in the 1st week of nights and the refusal of the air conditioner to work for heating, it was impossible to cook barefoot, but I almost immediately adapted to cover it with bedspreads in the late afternoon. Of course, there were practically no hygiene consumables, but I was fully prepared for this. My standard emails appliances from Tuspan sockets worked flawlessly. Twice called to poison the anthill in the bathroom. On knocking out of the household. It took me 3 days to service the bathroom plugs, their plugs are worth their weight in gold. Cleaning was carried out daily, but at different times, at the same time they put a 1.5 l bottle of water. Of the Russian-language TV channels, only NTV-America (and even that disappeared several times), at any time, turn it on, invariably showing the dumbest, most incompetent series or nauseating "entertainment" programs, consisting of solid rubbish, an incoherent hodgepodge of events from the life of home-grown stars, to no one in the world not known. I wonder how and on what this flawed channel exists, rather than someone paying for such a feces / except for hotels /? The beach, although narrower than further inland, is still wonderful, there are showers and toilets in the immediate vicinity, the turquoise transparent ocean, even at a depth of several meters, is certainly beautiful. A couple of days there was a slight excitement up to 2 points, a couple of days I was pleased with complete calm, t of water 23 degrees, you won’t swim for a very long time. Mesh sunbeds, old sagging ones prevail among them, in order to take a new and clean one, you must come no later than 9, to take any in the shade - no later than 10, because almost every day there was a mass clogging of the best places with towels and other belongings of the Germans and Canadians. after that, they slowly went for breakfast and for various business, and were dragged to the beach at 11 at best. Towels are given on bail 15 cookies and are changed only 5 hours a day and they are not always available during these hours. The pools are clean. There were no mosquitoes, thanks to the dry season, but the sand fleas ate up, returned all in itchy boils. The territory near Tuspan is rather small, much smaller than that of all neighboring hotels, it is actually not illuminated at night, I almost broke my legs several times, making my way almost groping in complete darkness, the infrastructure is scanty - no gym, no sauna, there are no bicycles at all. At the reception at night, by the way, sometimes there was no one either, suddenly something urgent - check out, for example, and the porter either sleeps in the lobby on the couch or is completely absent. There is no lush garden as such, natural plants preserved during the construction predominate, in some places a few bushes are planted. Moderate cleanliness in the building, common areas and on the territory is observed. Service in most cases is satisfactory, people work positively and diligently within their capabilities, tips, even rare and small, are welcome. In the evenings at dinner and in the lobby, invited musicians played music at a quite decent level, violinists with a keyboardist amazed with their highly professional performance, in the indoor a la carte the female trio sang excellently and not at all amateurishly. There were some performances after dinner, but I didn't go. A single animator by the pool spent days trying to entertain the audience, inviting them to dance on stage, bingo, etc. Smoking is not forbidden anywhere except for elevators, the stinkers of all countries really suffocated, especially on the beach. There is currency exchange in the lobby all day. The food for the budget four is excellent, there is not much variety, but even without it it was quite good, comfortable satiety was overshadowed only by the throughput, or rather, the inability, of the main restaurant and the resulting stress, which no one needed on vacation. The food is mostly simple and high-calorie. Lunch and dinner are approximately identical - 2 types of soup (creamy ones are not bad, but they were salty), 1 fried dish for cutting (pork ham or chop, roast beef, turkey or chicken), portioned pork (often they strove to throw it unroasted on a plate, repeatedly brought it back ), steaks, fish (always the same) or shrimp, rice and potatoes in different types of side dishes, fried bananas, black beans, pumpkin, less often stuffed peppers, eggplant (once they were horrified by creepy, almost raw), various varieties of cabbage. There were always ingredients for a salad - 2 types of leafy, cucumbers, radishes, sometimes peppers, there was a small selection of sauces, spices - none, except for salt and pepper shakers on the tables. Local fruits are always in abundance, watermelon appeared several times. Their confectionery and pastries are hardly edible, puff cakes with protein cream and shortbread cookies were more or less usable, the most disgusting thing is Cuban biscuits. Croissants are often stale in the morning, brown bread 2-3 times a week, the rest of the time their traditional bread is yellowish and tasteless. But the ice cream is awesome 3-4 types is stable at lunch and dinner, I just gorged on it. For soup, almost flat plates of large diameter are provided, and not tureens, as in most hotels, it is not recommended to pour them more than half the volume in order to avoid the formation of soup puddles when trying to bring this full plate to the table, constantly the entire floor was in the soup in the area vats, because at first everyone strove to pour himself to the top. It was funny. At breakfast, several types of fresh juices, yogurts and shakes from them, only nasty soluble cocoa, with horse sugar content, as well as fried eggs for a queue of 10 people at least, pancakes (often cooled down), bacon, cheese slices, natural ham and sausage, honey, jams, compotes, a couple of hot dishes like potato croquettes, beans or minced meat from yesterday's meat, etc. on the little things. The rest of everything also went to pasta and mayonnaise salads, devoured by crazy Germans. Lobsters for 12 cookies at the poolside snack bar with a 24-hour bar where you could also dine with a small selection of dishes. The beach bar with the most symbolic selection of drinks and opening hours from 10 to 17 served fast food at lunchtime. There is also a small fruit bar with fresh, open 4 hours a day. Catering is the most ugly of all the hotels where I lived, the hall at the buffet at the same time accommodated 20 percent of the guests, which led to the formation of queues in front of the doors that I had never seen before, just to enter and take a table, even for breakfast. In the available spacious extension to the canteen, tables were not laid and not served. Some at breakfast carried food to a nearby bar and sat there eating. In the end, it was very annoying, but at first it was completely infuriating, for dinner I had to queue for 15 minutes in order to enter immediately after opening and not wait until the first ones who came in had eaten. Inside, 3.5 cripples were serving, fussing a lot, but having little time, she went for drinks herself. There is only one boiler in the hall, including the waiters, if one of them comes up with a full tray of cups for coffee, you are tormented to wait to pour tea. Waiting for them to bring even longer, it's easier to do everything yourself. In the morning, sometimes it was not possible to take a cup / spoon due to their absence, the finished food was replenished irregularly. There were often dirty dishes. On the eggs in the morning and in the afternoon and in the evening on fried meat and fish there is 1 person each, in the lobby bar the same, even in the evening, when there are a lot of people, the 2nd is present, but does not pour, only washes the dishes, the queues are always huge. The Stolovkin Hall is air-conditioned for the winter in an excessively fanatical way; it blew me a couple of times there. Both a la carte are complete bullshit, the food there is exactly the same as on the buffet, they exist only to unload the latter. The population of the hotel changed from day to day at lightning speed, including in terms of its density, the mass arrivals that occurred were expressed in relentless queues for breakfast up to 10-30 and a fully occupied beach, it was believed that many came for a day or 2. This time I've seen enough of drunken Canadian truckers and their shoulder girlfriends around the clock, neighing and yelling in chorus in a restaurant with tables of 6-10 fermentingly sour individuals. Because of them, during meals, there was always a noise-din, like at the station. It cannot be said that the hotel was full of them, but the constantly present 2-3 such kodles made us remember our compatriots drunk in the trash somewhere in Turkey as the nicest people. Surprisingly, there were many Germans, apparently who had defected from Egypt, who turned out not to be scrapped into such a distance. There were a lot of ours too. In a small number, Latin Americans were observed, or rather, it is difficult to identify them and the Japanese. The weather did not let us down, only 1 day was partly cloudy, during the day the sun was hot at 35 degrees, after sunset it got noticeably colder, the first week probably up to 18, I even slept under 2 blankets with a closed balcony, then the nights became warmer. Solar radiation, despite the winter, is very strong. Of course, there was no lush riot of nature at this time of the year, practically nothing blooms, some trees dropped their leaves and stood naked, so I had no admiration for the surrounding beauties on this visit by and large. . The parasites from Aeroflot delayed the return flight for 4 hours, which, in the absence of a full-fledged duty-free and Wi-Fi at the Havana airport, turned out to be truly nightmarish, especially after a 3-hour transfer. No drinks were provided in violation of the rules of the Ministry of Transport. Creepy tour operators dragged a full plane of passengers to the original time, as if they did not know anything about a flight delay of 14 hours, for which they had a huge FI.

We rested from December 20 to January 3. The hotel in general draws on a normal 4, the only negative is that if the windows overlook the pool, there is no sun in the room all day long (this is good from many sides), but there is a smell of blossoms and high humidity - nothing dries out. The hotel has a 24-hour pool bar, grill bar for lunch, a beach bar and a shared restaurant.

The hotel has a 24-hour pool bar, grill bar for lunch, a beach bar and a shared restaurant. The food is normal, the grill bar every day: fish, veal, pork ribs, well, the accompanying potatoes or rice, or all together. Alcoholic drinks are poured unchildishly - in buckets, if you give a couple of cookies, hawai... The quality of the drinks is incomparable with Turkey and even more so with Egypt - everything is much better. The ocean is a MIRACLE, Tuxpan has the best coastline in Varadeo. The water temperature was somewhere around 26-28, air during the day up to 30.
We traveled a lot of excursions, but I advise Havana with a visit to the Tropicana without spending the night (although we didn’t really like the Tropicana, but it’s worth visiting at least for show, the island of Cayo Largo is something unusual and Safari (create your own island).
In general, Cuba is a country of very slow and even lazy chegiwars, with wonderful nature and it is simply necessary to visit there. A cheerful country, terribly in love with its revolutionaries and, as it seemed to us, living today...

Fidel stands on the podium. The crowd is chanting, making noise. . . Fidel takes a drag on a sumptuous cigar and says:
- Cubans! American propaganda claims that we can only smoke cigars and dance! This is not true?
- No, Fidel! the crowd roars.
- Isn't that right, Cubans? Fidel asks again, sipping his cigar.
- No, no, Fidel!
- Isn't that right, Cubans?
- No, no, Fidel!
Fidel (to himself, thoughtfully):
- Hm. Isn't that right, Cubans? No, no, Fidel! Isn't that right, Cubans? No, no, Fidel! - and Fidel himself begins to hum it rhythmically, and after him the whole crowd begins to dance: "Isn't that right, Cubans? No, no, Fidel"... And everyone dances...

We stayed at this hotel from March 25 to April 4.2011. Before that, we lived in Havana for 3 days. Tuxpan is quite a decent hotel. After reading reviews in general about Cuban hotels before the trip, I thought it would be worse! In fact, everything turned out great! Check-in to the room takes place at 16.00.

And we arrived at about 13.00. We still didn’t understand why they took us so early (9.00) from Havana (there is still a room paid for before 12.00) ...If we had left Havana at least at 11.00, then while we were gathering people at the hotels, while driving to Varadero (about 3 h), while they were transporting people to hotels, everyone would have just got to their hotels by the time of check-in. And so I had to put things in the storage room and go for a 3-hour walk around the hotel and the beach.
Much has been written about the territory, I will not repeat it. I will say one thing that we liked. Everything is very good. Cool lizards run around ...Quite big and cute. No flies or insects were seen. If they were, then very few. There were no mosquitoes in the room.
The fumigator was useless.
About the number. Settled immediately in a normal room overlooking the pool and ocean. Safe for free. But some strange system...It opens with a room key card...Theoretically, it turns out that any maid can open it...At first we were afraid that something would be lost. But everything was fine, and the laptop, and the camera with all the lenses, and the money with the documents remained safe and sound. Only the safe is very small, all of the above fit! It's good that we have a mini version of the laptop. But all the same, everything had to be freed from bags and packages. They clean well, towels and sheets are clean and do not smell damp (as it was, for example, in a hotel in Havana). Well, sometimes there are stains, but these are small things! If you bother with this, then you have to travel everywhere with your sheets : ) The only minus of the room is its size. A little tight. But we did not come to sit in the room!
So it's not very critical! The rest was all right. Plumbing worked, hot water was constant, air conditioning, TV (1 Russian channel NTV-America) and refrigerator (1.5 liters of water were supplied every day for free) worked properly. An adapter is not required for an outlet. Everything plugged in and charged fine. Towels were changed strangely...Sometimes every other day, sometimes every day...We never understood the system...Only shampoo, soap and a shower cap were used for bath accessories. There were no shower gels. There were 2 maids, changed every other day. Tipping was left almost every day for 0.5 or 1 CUC.
About food. The food is wonderful: quite varied, meat, excellent chicken. Huge shrimps in white wine were fried in front of you. They gave them 4 times. And there were no queues for this. Bacon for breakfast, however, in my opinion, was a bit overdone. But still delicious!
Ice cream was always available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pretty tasty. I didn't really like the pastry. In Egypt-Turkey it is much tastier. Well, this is in my opinion : ) A separate song is fruit!!! ! Pineapples are just a delight of the soul! So delicious, juicy and sweet!! ! We can say that I lived there almost on some pineapples!! ! There were always oranges, grapefruits of two varieties (yellow and red), guava (much larger and riper than in Egypt) insanely delicious, bananas. A couple of times there were green (by color, and not because they are unripe) melons, and watermelons ...I'm not a fan of these types, so I can't say anything about the quality. A separate word about papaya. They call it frutobomba, because the word papaya they call the female genital organs (papaina) ...So we were told by the guide on the tour. Therefore, you can only speak aloud fruit bomb : ). She was constantly and very ripe.
But for my taste, this is such a rare muck that there is no way to eat it ...Perhaps this is because of its unpleasant smell ...some kind of sour vomit ...At first I thought that it might have turned sour because of the heat ...It can’t be, that what millions of people praise turned out to be disgusting ...But then she took a peeled and chopped ripe fruit for a test in front of me ...The smell is the same ...It tastes incomprehensible ...In general, it didn’t work out with papaya : ) But maybe I just I don't understand : ) There we always went to the main restaurant. There are 2 more restaurants by appointment El Rancho (on the second floor) and Calibri (actually it is a bar near the pool : ), just for dinner only those who have pre-registered and have dinner sit there, and for all other guests it closes. But at 21.00 it is again a simple bar, available to everyone). Upon check-in, two tickets are issued for entry to these restaurants.
But we never went, because everything suited us in the main restaurant. The dishes sometimes came across dirty, but we didn’t bother, we just took another plate. Sometimes I had to wait until the appliances were put in and napkins were given. But the drinks were brought very quickly, and then they went to add more. Juices left much to be desired… Something like Yupi-Zuko… But there was a vitamin bar near the pool, where fresh juices were made from 11 to 13 and from 15 to 17. And also in the Piano Bar they poured orange juice into cocktails. Well, they poured it separately for those who wished : ) All fresh juices, as well as imported alcoholic drinks, are free. Rum is poured into cocktails mercilessly : ), not like in Russia! The only cocktail I didn't try at the hotel was the Saoco. This is a coconut with an open top and a tube inserted into it. It was not included, but sometimes they made it in a bar for a tip. To be honest, I don't know how much it cost. But on the tour, I tried.
For 2 cookies it's just coconut milk, and for 3 cookies you sip a little and they add rum to you. I didn't like it...Neither with nor without rum...But it's a matter of taste! Lobsters were not eaten at the hotel either. On an excursion to the island of Cayo Largo on a yacht, they cost 10 Cookies (in a hotel 12). There we tried them. It looks like a very big shrimp, and it tastes the same : ) But, in general, it's not bad at all!
About the beach. Simply magical! It makes no sense to describe! You just have to be there! The ocean is clean, gentle, warm! The sand is white and fine! (On the Caribbean coast, the sand, however, is more gentle! Like semolina! Quite small and white! ) There were always enough sun loungers. It was not necessary, as in Egypt, at 7 in the morning to take a place by the sea. You calmly have breakfast, come to the beach by 9-9.30 and calmly lie down wherever you want. The sun is very active! Therefore, be sure to take sunscreen at least 30 units! And for burnt skin! You can burn even without leaving under the umbrella!
Although some did! And then we get angry that there are stains on the towels!! ! So ...this house is open from 9.30 to 12.00, and then from 13.30 to 17.00. In the evening we left the beach at 19.00, so we changed the towels for clean ones the very next day. During the day they change without any questions. Just say "change". And that's it. At the end of the holiday, you change towels for a receipt, and at the reception you will be returned the money on it.
The biggest negative that bothered me on the beach was the lack of mattresses on the sunbeds! There are just sun loungers...And very sagging...Lying is not very comfortable! We explained the absence of mattresses to ourselves by a very humid climate and the difficulty of drying ...But how is it really there ...Who knows ?!
About excursions. When we were in Havana, they refused the services of a guide. We had a guide to Cuba, a GPS navigator with a map of Havana, minimal knowledge of Spanish and a very strong desire to get new experiences.
Everything that was in the programs of several excursions with a guide, we went through ourselves in one day. And without haste and crowds of people! Highly recommend! And we were very lucky, we got to all the tourist places before the influx of groups of tourists. Everywhere they took pictures, walked, rested without a bunch of people! In Hemingway's favorite cafe, we not only drank a cocktail, but sat quietly with a hearty lunch (contrary to expectations, it turned out to be quite inexpensive there). I recommend the magnificent Creole steak to everyone!! ! Only 13 cookies for two huge pieces of the most tender beef the size of a good man's palm each! I have never eaten better! I don’t even know where they got such delicious meat, because they have a hard time with beef there, especially in the dry season. And then, when we left the cafe, two huge buses with tourists drove up there. And the fuss began! They didn't even have a place to sit!
At the tobacco factory "Partagas" tours in Russian are not given if you came there on your own ...We went with an English group. But in general terms, everything was clear what was said. You cannot take pictures inside. The camera was handed over to the storage room along with the bags. It was a little scary to hand over such an expensive thing. But everything worked out : ) And, in general, they have some kind of mania there, you can’t bring bags into any museum. Even ladies!! ! Everything must be handed over to the camera. And at the tobacco factory, and in the mausoleum of Che Guevara, and in the Museum of the Revolution ...In general, everywhere! Taxis were taken several times. Never paid more than 10 cookies. We drove from the hotel in Miramar (a district of new Havana) to the old fortress for 10, from the fortress to the Capitol for 8 (it's close, but the place is touristy, so the prices were aching : )), and from Revolution Square to Miromar (it's very far) for 8 The coolest place to walk in Havana is Prada Street!
Wide, shady, with a large central pedestrian part...Very beautiful...And it's better to walk alone, and not with the crowd! And you won't be able to enjoy it! It seems that there is nothing special there ...And the houses are shabby, and the poor people ...But the atmosphere itself ...And the people are cheerful ...They dance ...As if they have no problems !! ! Benevolent! You must feel it and be sure to visit it in order to understand it, but a story cannot convey the fullness of impressions! The famous Malecon, on the contrary, did not leave much impression! Prada is 1000 times better! It took a long time to get to Revolution Square, through ordinary quarters ...Tourists are obviously not often seen there! But we really wanted to see the famous portrait of Che on the facade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs! And we got there! Take pictures of government buildings. institutions is prohibited. But we snapped a dozen shots until the guards started to whistle and shout at us.
After that, we prudently jumped into a taxi and ran away from sin : ) In Varadero, we then asked the guide if it was realistic to walk from Partagas to Revolution Square ? ! He made scary eyes and said it was impossible! After we said that we did it, he began to respect us! : )
From Varadero we took an excursion to the island of Cayo Largo from the guide. Flight by domestic airlines to the island, then sailing on a yacht in the Caribbean, with stops for swimming. The sea is very salty, a lot of algae. But still cool. I especially liked swimming and photo session with starfish. Very beautiful. We went to the island of royal iguanas. Very big and calm lizards : ) I wrote about lobsters a little higher. Then a couple of hours on the beach. The sea was a little stormy, so it was not very clean. But the sand is impressive. As I already wrote, white and small ...So much so that even in the heat of the day it was not hot. Just warm.
Then we rode on a wheeled Tuk-Tuk train around the island. He transported tourists who lived on the island for free, and we went for 5 cookies per person. In general, the trip is not worth it, we just drove around the hotels, but we looked at them ...And we concluded that we did not lose anything when we bought tickets to the Varadero hotel, and not to the Caribbean coast. There is nothing to do in Cayo Largo. And there were also small midges that bite very hard and painfully ...And mosquitoes. Another minus of the Caribbean coast ...Although, maybe we were just unlucky.
We went to Trinidad for 2 days, visited several cities, the Che mausoleum, a national nature reserve. We spent the night in a hotel in the mountains, traveled by truck, swam in a mountain lake. The natural part of the tour is quite, but the cities are not very interesting ...somehow everything is fragmented, crumpled. Another plus for independent travel.
We went to the crocodile farm on our own.
I strongly suspect that it was not a crocodile, but a banal cow. Because with such an influx of tourists who want to taste crocodile meat, all reptiles would have been eaten a long time ago. After the farm, we visited the legendary place of the battle of Playa Giron, the crab death road ...Well, this is just a place on the highway where clouds of crabs cross it ...And they die under the wheels of a car. After we drove back, we got caught in a tropical downpour, when the water flooded the streets in the cities so that the wheels of the car were hidden. The spectacle is impressive! And in Varadero at that time it was dry! Entry-exit to Varadero is paid, 2 cookies from a passenger car, but we somehow managed to leave and enter past the post. So they didn't pay anything. Driving on the roads is not scary at all. There are practically no cars. And if you have a navigator map, you can drive all over Cuba. The police never slowed down, and we generally did not break the rules. So I recommend taking your license with you.
Our friends rented a moped. 12 cookies for 2 hours and 3 cookies for petrol. Just enough to drive around Varadero and see what's where.
About souvenirs. The exchange of money is a state fiefdom. So the rate is the same everywhere, in the exchange office in the center of Havana, in the hotel on Varadero. During our stay for 1 euro they gave 1.35 cookies. The exchange rate fluctuates daily, but only slightly. Maracas (1 cookie), various beads made of natural bones (1-2 cookies per piece) Textile hats with the Havana Club emblem (5 cookies per piece) Wide wooden bracelets (5 cookies per piece, bought on crocodile farm, I have not seen it anywhere else, but it looks stylish), magnets with Che (the most decent performance, soft option, does not scratch the refrigerator, also on the farm 1 cookie per piece), Serano coffee, they say that the best there. The price is the same everywhere. Mikey with Che. Price from 8 to 25 cookies. depending on the quality. Optimally 12-25 cookies. Rum Havana Club, 7 years old 15.9 per 1 liter.
Advice for those who want to bring a lot of alcohol: buy in Dutik and pay with Cookies. It will be cheaper and you do not need to check in your luggage. Our luggage bag was full of rum, although our bottles were intact in it (we packed them well). And some people are not so lucky. Everything got beat up. We also suffered a couple of white T-shirts that were not in packages. The rest is all dry, but rum is not washed off very well from white things. So rum is better in a dutik, and you can easily buy all other souvenirs in Varadero, there are many markets, it’s not expensive and you can bargain.
Summary. Rest turned out wonderful, a lot of impressions! We will definitely be back at least once more! It is possible that in this hotel.
That, it seems, is all. There will be questions, write - I will answer.
