Before that, we had a rest in Bulgaria about 5 years ago at the sea, I remember adequate prices, hospitable Bulgarians and huge portions of meat dishes, so we decided to repeat the experience and get to know Bulgaria from the other side.

They flew with Mouzenidis to Thessaloniki, accordingly they opened Greek visas. Then the transfer to Bansko took 3.5 hours. We passed the border quickly, the road is also normal, quite comfortable.
We stayed at the Belvedere Holiday Club Hotel 4 *. Both the exterior and the interior of the hotel are very refined. The photos in the catalog that we were shown in the travel agency correspond to reality. We took a one bedroom apartment, the rooms are large. Cleaning every day, no complaints, although maybe because we left a good tip every time. The room has everything you need, although we didn’t cook much, we took food - breakfast + dinner. There is a free shuttle to the ski lift. The only caveat is that there is no room for storing equipment in the hotel. But we left it for free not far from the ski lifts near Tsakiris. The hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, bath, sauna - everything is there to relax the muscles after exercise. An important point - free Wi-Fi only in the lobby.
The food at the hotel is quite varied and tasty, but we liked the local cafes more, they were more colorful. Cool mechanic right in the center of Bansko near the hotel Caphouse, called "Salt and Pepper". It's inexpensive, delicious, and we still have a 15% discount (our hotel guide Fedya advised us at the welcome meeting). In general, in the brochures that are given out upon arrival, there are advertisements for several places that are worth a look. Although we went to different ones, somewhere more, somewhere we liked it less, but in general it is clear that they have been working for more than a year and value their reputation, they are trying.
A ski pass was bought immediately for 5 days, the cost was 140 euros. There was almost no queue for the lift, but in January, of course, there will be more people. It takes about 17 minutes to go in the trailer, and we arrive at Banderishka Polyana. And already from here, with one change, we were understood to the very top of Pirin - Mount Todorka! There is a nice place where everyone takes pictures : ) We rode Plateau 1 and Plateau 2. At the Shiligarnik substation, you can drink hot mulled wine and relax a little. The tracks are wide, smooth, you get great pleasure when you ride! And most importantly, because of what they were worried about when they booked - the weather! And there was enough snow, and just walking in the evenings was quite comfortable.
By the way, the trip turned out to be "2 in 1" : ) Since on the way back we spent another night in Thessaloniki. Quite conveniently, we arrived at the hotel at 6 pm, quickly settled in and managed to buy olives and wine in the supermarket opposite... And for good reason, there is more choice and prices do not differ much from duty free. Oil was bought in duty free, as they were afraid to stain things in a suitcase with it (one friend had a sad experience). The hotel is surprisingly very good - Grand Hotel, five minutes by taxi - and you are in the center. I liked Thessaloniki, there are many cozy cafes on the waterfront and in general the city is already sparkling with lights for the New Year. Such a vibrant city! And we were sure that life in Greece freezes in winter without tourists. Of course, this is not Vienna or Paris, where it is customary for our people to go for the Christmas holidays, but as an option for celebrating the next New Year, we have already marked ourselves with a tick. Going to see Greece while it’s not hot and the sea doesn’t beckon not to leave a single step, a great idea) We met a married couple when they were waiting for a transfer in the morning, they spent a week on the Ancient Greece tour and actively shared their impressions with us : )
In general, we just returned home, and already I want to go on the road again, because there are so many interesting and unknown things in the world!

The hotel is not bad. Pretty nice and comfortable. The apartments have a lot of space, there are good kitchens. But the standard rooms are a bit cramped. And in the attic room there is very little space and the ceilings are so low that it will be very difficult for tall people to stand there. The furniture is simple, unobtrusive, in pastel colors.

I also liked the good location - 400 meters to the ski lift. Be careful when choosing the Mansandra room type - the room has very low sloping ceilings.

Although all the same, it probably makes no sense to pay for dinner, because there are a lot of mehans in the city, the food is affordable and tasty everywhere. The only thing is that the hotel makes a slightly unfinished impression, plus the lack of some common areas. The pool is terribly chlorinated. In general, I can say the following about the rest: I heard a lot of horrors about standing in lines for 3 hours on New Year's holidays, but fortunately this was not the case. The queues for the gondola lift were long, but buses were allowed to take no more than 20 minutes. (and this is with two children 3 and 5 years old). Not everyone probably knew about them and therefore stood in giant queues for the lift. But the tracks themselves are no better than Bukovel. Therefore, I don’t know if it’s worth going so far, because it will still be more expensive. I really liked the local food, everything is very tasty and quite affordable
