Cons: French balcony.
I’m generally silent about food, in the economy canteen a package with the name of hunger didn’t die of hunger, we all lost weight, for breakfast eggs and sausages, yogurt is poured into half a 100 g glass! My husband asked me what? They feel sorry for kefir, they put a teaspoon of any dish on the distribution and everything, if you ask for more, they look at you as an enemy, the pineapple is cut into slicers of 0.3 cm, it is also transparent! And in the hands of 2-3 pcs. no more! Well, I don’t eat melon, in general, for dinner 3 types of meat and 3 types of side dishes, no, you won’t stay hungry, but it’s better to eat in cafes on the coast, prices from 6-15 euros for normal food, soups for 1.5-3 euros, in Igalo is cheaper towards the beach, there is a travel agency towards Igalo, a very nice girl sells mini tours, she is the only one in this part who knows Russian, everyone else, God forbid, at least English, took a boat for 3 hours 15 euros to the blue lagoon, and all day along the bay with a lunch of 30 euros, I liked everything very much, I advise both experienced and beginners.
The location is excellent, the nature is simply gorgeous, the promenade, cafes, shops within walking distance, the hotel wins only by the location and the presence of the pool, the hotel itself does not pull 4 *, a maximum of 2 * no more, if hoteliers read this review, teach your staff to change towels every day, because of the high humidity, they don’t dry out at all, and we made the beds ourselves every day and we just don’t need to re-lay what is tucked!
We rested at the hotel on June 15-29.2019, the tour operator "Orbita", the host - PILON, I really liked their guide Alexander.
Windrose Airlines flight Kyiv-Tivat-Kyiv was good.
1.5 hours after landing in Tivat, we were at the hotel. At the reception they asked for a room in a quiet location on the 2nd floor - and got room 1804 in a villa in the first row from the sea. You can't see the sea from the rooms of the villas of the hotel, because it is covered by tall trees. Russians are settled, as a rule, in the Mimosa building - it is above the sea, but without balconies.
If you go up from the hotel a little up to Negoshev Street with one-way traffic (the street of clanging hatches - their covers on the roadway are loose) and go towards the old city, then in 7 minutes. you can walk to a large IDEA supermarket, and after another 5 min. - to the Volja supermarket located already in the old town next to the bazaar. There are a lot of shops and cafes along this street, but the prices…
If you go along Negosheva street against traffic, then in 5 minutes. you can walk to another IDEA supermarket.
We bought Rada water in 1.5 liters. bottles for 0.49 euros. Wine in liter bottles for 1.95-2.5 euros turned out to be quite decent, especially white (although we love sweet Crimean wines). We also tried Albanian cognac (8.99 euros for 0.5 l) and local beer (2 l for 2.55 euros) - bitter, did not like it.
Along the beach there is a promenade about 15 km long. Prices in cafes on the promenade decrease in the direction of Igalo, where Tito's villa and the shallow sea with healing mud are located.
Number
Recently refurbished. We had a two-room suite (13 + 9 sq. m. ) with a balcony (it had a clothes dryer, two chairs and a table). In the 1st room: a folding sofa (160 cm), an armchair, a floor lamp, a 32-inch LCD TV, a mini-bar (filled), a small table and a wardrobe niche. In the 2nd room: double bed, two bedside tables, mirror. Each room has floor air conditioning. There is no electric kettle.
It is inconvenient that there are no doors in the dressing room. The bathroom has a shower. Hot water constantly. Soap and shampoo are not available. There are two liquid soap dispensers.
Beach towels were in the room. They are small and washed out - it is better to take your own.
The soundproofing in the room is not very good - you can hear the neighbors both to the right and left, and from below.
Villas with numbers 1701-2004 are closest to the sea. Rooms in them xxx3 and xxx4 are the second floor.
The hotel staff is friendly, unobtrusive, they do not speak Russian and understand English poorly (except for the reception). Mostly young people 18-25 years old, the restaurant has middle-aged staff.
Hotel.
The hotel area is green with flowering trees and bushes (there are birds and 2 turtles) but it is densely built up. The hotel has a three-level parking, but cars are also parked on the sports ground.
Next to the first row of villas there is a sports ground, you can do yoga or play bocha and table tennis.
There is a playground for playing chess with large pieces. The passages around the hotel are covered to protect from the sun and rain.
There is a fairly large pool with a constant depth of about 160 cm. There are always sun loungers near it, with umbrellas worse. The pool is usually full of children and noisy. From the pool to the sea about 110 m.
Beach
Length 57 m wide - sunbeds in 3 rows. Entrance to the sea from a concrete slab only by ladders. The beds and mattresses are new. There are not enough umbrellas, including because some take 2-3 umbrellas for 2 sunbeds instead of one. Due to the fact that guests take places from the very morning, and then do not come for a long time, after 9-30 there may not be free sunbeds on the beach.
At the bottom of the sea near the concrete slab are dozens of small sea urchins. But the depth is about 2.5-3 m or more - it is difficult to step on hedgehogs. There is construction debris at the bottom, algae appear closer to the buoys, where the sandy bottom is visible. There are very few fish.
Along the bottom from the concrete slab, 3 sewers with a diameter of 30-40 cm pass behind the buoys.
The water is clear near the shore, and becomes more muddy near the hotel's buoys. The circulation of water in the bay is due to the counterclockwise flow and the tide of about 50 cm.
Until June 20, the water was 18-19 degrees in the morning, 21-22 degrees in the evening. Then it warmed up by 3-4 degrees. Sometimes it brings debris from pieces of branches, algae and plastic to the shore.
Nutrition
We had HB food. Breakfast is quite ordinary. Stewed vegetables, cereals, scrambled eggs / fried eggs / boiled eggs, sausages (2 types), cheese + feta + 3 types of sausage cuts, cottage cheese + kefir, milk / oatmeal porridge, chopped vegetables + salads from them, apples, grapefruits, oranges. 4 types of juice + coffee machine. For some reason, there were often no black tea bags.
Dinner. Very varied. Always 3 types of meat (chicken, beef, pork), every other day fish and sometimes squid, stewed vegetables, several types of side dishes (rice, vermicelli, potatoes), two types of soup. Chopped vegetables + lots of salads (there was quite a decent Olivier).
From fruits: watermelon, melon, pineapples, peaches and nectarines. Drinks at dinner are paid, but tap water in a decanter and 2 glasses are brought free of charge.
For dinner there were always 8 types of delicious ice cream, desserts, cakes. The chef cooks delicious food. Upon arrival for a week, all the food at home seemed tasteless.
Guests
Until June 20-22, there were many elderly (over 75-80 years old) English and German speakers (about 70%). Then residents of the former Yugoslavia with children arrived (there were about 50% of them). Russian speakers in the hotel 15-25% (depending on arrival).
The hotel is used as a transit for groups of Chinese tourists who stay there for one night. On such days, breakfast and dinner are very crowded, but the food is constantly replenished.
Tours
Water excursion Blue Cave + about. Mamut + Janitsa beach is very beautiful. But riding an overloaded boat, from which tourists hang in clusters along the sides, is simply dangerous. We spent 5 hours on Janitsa beach - very long and tiring.
I do not recommend this tour.
Dubrovnik
You can get there on your own from the Herceg Novi bus station. A one-way ticket costs 12-15 euros. And the travel agency located opposite the bus station drove back and forth for 18 euros / person. on a minibus for 8 seats and another map of Dubrovnik in Russian was given.
In Dubrovnik, everything is very expensive - 0.5 liters of water costs 3 euros. Entrance to each of the museums or towers costs from 40 to 200 kunas (1 euro = 7 kunas). Euros are not accepted anywhere - you have to go to the exchanger. Probably the most correct decision is to buy a one-day tourist card for 250 kunas and use it to enter both the city walls and museums. The city is very dense building, no trees. A stone bag with a crowd of people.
I had to spend 6 hours in Dubrovnik - and this is a lot, even taking into account visiting the free beach. The last hour we just sat on a bench. The whole trip lasted from 8-00 to 17-30. Exhausted.
minimontenegro
The tour (25 euros/person) was bought at the branch of the mentioned tour agency on the promenade (7 min walk towards Igalo).
Nice relaxing tour.
Trebinje
We bought this tour to Bosnia and Herzegovina from the host for 25 euros / person. and did not regret. Although there was a large group of 43 people, this did not lead to delays. We visited the church on the grave of the poet I. Ducic, which offers a great view. Then the old town of Trebinje itself - it is small but pretty, and the monastery of Tvrdosh with its wine cellars and wine tasting. Then they brought us for lunch (10 euros / person) and at 17-00 we were at the hotel.
We visited on our own: 3 fortresses in Herceg Novi (entrance 2 euros / person, admission to the Spanjola fortress is free, but it is on the mountain, and it was hard to go), the local museum next to the hotel (3 euros), the villa of Marshal Tito (3 euros with tour guide).
If you have any questions, write to sk_lora@ukr. net, we will answer.
Alexander and Larisa
The location of the hotel is in the city center, there is a place to walk along the promenade to the left and right, to the right in Igalo a leisurely walk for 10-15 minutes, I look at the shops at the same time. Lots of restaurants with good food. Igalo has good ice cream next to the mini square. There is also a hospital in Igalo, but I won’t say what and how, I didn’t visit. To the left of the hotel you can go to the port and the old part of the city, there are plenty of photo locations.
The hotel rooms are already very tired, but not terrible.
Food - I had breakfast and dinner, excellent! The choice is very small, but tasty and varied, not tired for a week.
In general, I liked it very much. The hotel is fully consistent with its price, and the location and the quality of everything else.
Somewhere on the fourth day of rest, you are no longer particularly concerned about the level of the hotel, but for this price there would be Turkey with an all-in-one and two heads higher !! ! I must add that the first half of September is beautiful weather with a wonderful sea. Montenegro is certainly worth a visit, such landscapes can be seen in very small places on earth. But to be honest, the level of service is just a scoop! + Departure delayed by 5 hours - due to the fault of the airport service itself, this is a completely different story. I really want to return to Montenegro again, but probably to a hotel of a higher rank, if there is enough money.
The holiday began with an unsuccessful settlement. Despite the fact that the room in the bungalow was booked almost six months in advance with various notes and wishes, we got the 2nd floor with a view of TA-DA-M!!! ! from the room to the concrete wall, from the balcony to its entire width - a dense bush of lush vegetation. At the request to change, a standard excuse was received from the stern young ladies from the reception - we are completely booked, live where they gave. Although it is always clearly visible where the rooms are occupied and where not even with the naked eye, the personalities are impenetrable. Yes, they showed a couple of similar bungalows with a view to nowhere, rooms in Novlyanka (which had not seen repairs). After 2 hours of complaints, when a small child had almost slept for a day on the road, a pleasant girl delegate from an unpleasant company knocked on the room, during negotiations with which the go-ahead was received to move to the next room overlooking the sports ground plus the sea-mountains in the distance . The next day, an impressive group of guests from Asia drove into the hotel, who became our bungalow neighbors for several days. And it immediately became clear which of the guests in the hotel was a priority and for whom they kept the room that we ended up with. And then the Hungarians arrived, forced half of the sports ground (specially divided in half by a high partition) with their cars and parking was added to the view from the balcony.
Now to the point. Number. According to the description, everything corresponds. In ours, the latch on the front door did not work, the old shower stall with broken shutters - for 7 nights no one even looked to look at the malfunctions, although he personally asked twice at the reception. And I was also surprised by the wall mount for the shower - that way at chest level - a maximum of 1.4-1.5 m in height from the floor, is it designed for the Chinese?... ? Cleaning for the entire vacation - fully once, on other days they took away dirty towels once, then only the next day they brought clean ones, 2 times the garbage was taken out. It is convenient that there is a dryer on the balcony (and indeed the balcony itself with a table and chairs, compared to the hotel buildings), there is a corner - an open dressing room instead of a closet, a mini-bar. The very same few furniture is specifically old. And if you have a small TV hanging in the sleeping area of the room, then the big one is not supposed to be in the living room and vice versa, it was never turned on; ). Bathrobes and beach towels are already waiting for guests in the room, but slippers are not put in any way...
Nutrition. The chefs are trying. The kitchen is ok. Every day, updating side dishes, 2-3 meat dishes (fish, poultry, pork-beef), for a week there were mussels, squid rings, shrimp (with pasta, of course). Ordinary sausage cheese daily, delicious cheese and prosciutto once a week for dinner. There is absolutely nothing special in breakfasts (a little milk, sausages - omelettes), everything is standard, except for queues for a small amount of croissants, there was never enough for everyone. In the evening watermelon, melons, grapes were daily; peaches, apples, bananas exhibited periodically. Unpleasantly surprised that the waiters are NOT tense, absolutely. And even when you take drinks and leave them on top - exactly zero plus zero reaction, especially when compared with the service in street establishments on the embankment. The interior of the inner hall is pleasant, the small terrace at sunset and dawn is generally magical, especially closer to the corner opposite the large palm tree overlooking the other side of the bay in the Njivice area, but the large section in the open air is at the level of catering of collective farm years, although it is around in blooming greenery. I'm talking about a la carte. . .
Beach. The platform with free sunbeds is definitely a plus for those who want to relax there. It is much more pleasant to go through the tunnel and swim on several pebble beaches aside in the company of local residents. The pool, especially for children, is the main attribute of the hotel. Cozy, under the greenery, it's just nice even for an adult to wander after a child.
The territory is vast, but all filled with buildings and bungalows, a lot of greenery, flowers, everything is well-groomed, especially a bush opposite the balcony of our first room. But there are dozens more of the same numbers.
Playground. There is... for show in the catalog. A plastic slide with holes - not just get hurt, but you can kill yourself. The swing is in the same condition. For older children, an outlet is a sports ground: football, basketball, even played badminton)) obviously brought with you.
In two words, the hotel is tired, it wants to retire, improve its health and relax in the middle of a beautiful picturesque area, and everyone is extending its retirement age and making it accept and serve vacationers. Compared to private villas, yes, there are signs of hotel hospitality, but the overall impression is mixed. For some reason, there was a feeling that the problem is more in management and its unwillingness to bring everything to mind, and perhaps the desire of the Hungarian chain itself to get rid of this hotel in favor of larger hotel chains, which will immediately affect its price tag.
I will definitely go to Montenegro again, I hope, more than once, as well as to the beautiful Herceg Novi itself, but not to this hotel, 1 time was enough in full.
Cleaning: They cleaned every day, the bed was changed every other day, because our towels were scattered throughout the room, as a result, instead of the 3 towels we were supposed to have, we had at least 6 in the room. I’m not a snob and I didn’t look into the cracks on purpose, and I didn’t poke my finger into the nooks and crannies to search for dust, so I liked the quality of the cleaning. But upon departure, pencils from previous tenants were found under the bed.
Service: We didn't have any problems. Did, the shower gel ended twice in the process of taking a shower. Twice they sent the child to the reception for the gel, twice after 15 minutes they brought it. What I didn't like was the waiters. They bring only paid drinks, dirty dishes were removed extremely slowly. With small tables and huge plates, it was very disturbing. When they started eating on the balcony, they put dirty dishes on the parapet of the balcony and the problem was solved for us.
Meals: Yes, there is no such variety as in Turkey-Egypt. But everything was delicious. Breakfast is standard, but with a large selection of sausages and cheese, which is not standard. Cheese was very good! In the nearest inexpensive supermarket, Roda wanted to buy cheese at home, seeing the average prices at the level of 6-7 euros. But it turned out that the cheese with huge holes you liked at the hotel cost 9.5 euros, blue cheese -13 euros, smoked cheese - 15.35 euros. And once again we were convinced that the hotel did not save on food. Our lunches were not included. Dinners were excellent. Even the kid ate fish every day (which he thought sucked all his life). Meat was always at least two kinds. There was enough ice cream for everyone, there were at least 4 types of it, every dinner. What I didn't like was paid drinks for dinner, even water! In recent days, we brought a bottle of water with us, bought in Roda (1.5 liters cost 0.4-0.6 euros, 5l-1.3 euros) put on the table, we never made any comments. What I liked was that everyone took sandwiches and fruits from the restaurant with them (especially at breakfast), but no one made any comments. There was always enough fruit too: watermelons, melons, plums, apples (golden), peaches, nectarines, sometimes figs, all of excellent quality.
Beach: concrete area with free sunbeds and umbrellas. Sun beds without mattresses, but they could be brought from the pool area. Concrete, unlike pebbles, did not heat up and the feet were always clean, unlike sandy beaches. Sunset into the sea or from the stairs (as in the pool), or immediately dive. Which is extremely NOT convenient for people who cannot swim. But we liked it. The sea is clean and transparent. At 35C air, the sea was 25-26C (cool)))). When it got dark, the beach was closed (stretched out a chain with a sign). At night, we lay on the beach on sun loungers - a security guard came up, we explained that we live in a san resort - the security guard disappeared.
Swimming pool: One large one with bleach (depth 1.5m), next to two paddling pools, for little ones. The large pool had one edge with an overflow. At night, with the backlight, it looked especially beautiful, it was not possible to swim.
We really liked the hotel, as well as Duke Novi himself. But to be completely honest, the Belarusians (with whom we became friends at the hotel) did not like the hotel. They lived in the mimosa building. The noise from the discos from the embankment prevented them from sleeping. They didn’t have drying and, despite their numerous requests, it didn’t appear until the end of the holiday. Their bed was changed once in all the time, however, they made the beds themselves (their upbringing did not allow leaving the bed unmade). But their room was large with leather furniture, which can not be said about our room))))
Excursions: We went to Zhanitsa and the blue cave (5+3 euros per person). Boats sail to the beach and offer to visit. Zhanitsa is a fully commercialized pebble beach with stones at the entrance to the entrance with paid sunbeds, umbrellas, but with blue water. There is clearly nothing to do there all day long. Blue Cave - impressed, liked it. If you don’t sit on Zhanitsa all day, then you can go to the blue cave.
I really liked the excursions around the Bokoto Bay and the Montenegro tour. Excursions were taken from the tour. Lena, the guide, is a great clever girl, she brings everything very interestingly, her mouth does not close, and it is appropriate.
We also went to the lake, mediocre, you can visit 1 time, you won’t want to visit the 2nd.
We went to Dubrovnik-horror. We arrived in the afternoon at 41C, the tour of the city took 30 minutes, there were a lot of people, you couldn’t push through and everyone was taken at a run to the spicy lukrum for a swim. The island is ordinary, rocky, peacocks walk. Did not impress. We returned to Dubrovnik, almost everything was already closed, yes, and only on the way home, we remembered most of the places where the guide advised to go.
Conclusion, it is possible to overpay for a tour with a tour only when Lena is traveling with a group, otherwise you can take a tour at a street travel agency.
Have a nice holiday!
We lived in a villa overlooking the sea and mountains. Two-room suite, shower / toilet, balcony (full), air conditioning. Linen and towels were changed regularly, no complaints about cleaning, cards work without problems.
The food is delicious. The choice is normal. Pleased with watermelons in mid-June. Yes, in Montenegro there are no low-quality products, harmful food additives, their constitution states that they are an environmentally friendly state, the products are excellent.
Restaurants. Three Lindens and Feral are beyond competition. The cuisine is excellent, the prices are normal, the service is excellent, the portions are large. Located by the sea, near the yacht parking.
The sea is perfectly clean. You can see how the anchor falls to the bottom at a depth of 39 meters! The beaches in these places are rocky, so they are adapted for recreation, in fact, they make a concrete pier. To enter the water there are steps with handrails. Depth immediately below 2-3m. Near the hotel (300 meters) there are small small-pebble city beaches, there is not much space, but also people. The fresh water pool at the hotel is good. Sunbeds on site free of charge.
But WiFi is the problem of the hotel. He is. But for him you need to go to a restaurant. There is a reception area near the pool, but in fact it does not work there.
The city of Herceg Novi is the most comfortable and beautiful of those where we went on excursions. They never regretted that they preferred it to Budva and adjacent places. The old part of the city is very beautiful at night.
Excursions.
Kotor. It takes 1 hour by bus, since there are air conditioners there, the ride is comfortable. The road goes along the coast, on the one hand the sea, the Bay of Kotor, on the other - the mountains. Beauty is indescribable - jaw dump. Kotor has a fortress on a mountain with an incredible view of the bay. But getting there is difficult. Takes at least an hour in the heat. Children will not reach on their own, many girls, too. But those who come will not regret it.
Budva. By bus 2 hours. Old city - for an hour to see. Nature, as elsewhere in Montenegro, is beautiful, but Budva itself is so-so.
Saint Stephen. You can only see from the outside. They are not allowed inside. 2 sun loungers and an umbrella on the beach nearby - 20 euros! You can lie down on your mats/towels. It is a pity that they are not allowed, after all, the island is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Dubrovnik. Gorgeous city! Together with Amsterdam and Venice, it is one of the three most beautiful cities in Europe, according to UNESCO. Be sure to visit!
Lokrum Island (near Dubrovnik). Fabulous! Take bread with you to feed the fish, there are countless of them, how they fly into food - it's just incredible. There are peacocks on the island, you can also feed them, but they are indifferent to food - everyone feeds them. The island is beautiful, you can see the whole island in a couple of hours. You can step on hedgehogs in the lake, be careful.
The airport in Tivat is terrible. On arrival, nothing terrible, but on departure - a living hell. Crowds of people, air conditioners do not work, suffocation, flights are delayed. The plane after it seems like paradise.
