We arrived at night (more than 10 people), alas, they didn’t put us in a room, they forced us to spend the night on the open terrace, it was cool, although the hotel was half empty. With us, it closed for the season on 10/10/21.
I liked the food, monotonous for frequent, but good. There was a lot of meat: rabbit, pork, chicken, lamb every day, steaks were often fried for dinner. Sweets were also worthy, soaked pies - yummy, jelly, mousses...
We lived in a large building, the number of rooms is outdated, of course, but everything worked properly (shower, flush) and a very beautiful view towards the mountains and the sea . . They have rooms with good, new furniture, but there will not be a beautiful view, this is for whom how.
Wi-Fi is free at the reception and in the large building, normal.
One thing annoyed me - tea, coffee could be made from a coffee machine only for breakfast, the rest of the time I had to go to the pool bar.
Everything else was very nice.
The room in the old central building is terrible. Dirty walls, rotten doorframes, old barely working plumbing. Four people can't turn around in the room. For children bunk bed right!! ! under air conditioning, had to move the beds. The air conditioner is of course not flushed.
Cleaning of the room - the floor was never even swept for a week, not to mention washing. The bathroom was not cleaned. Trash was not always taken out. They brought new towels, but the old ones were not taken away. So they accumulated on the balcony. The ashtray was never removed!
There are only two outlets in the room, which are not accessible. It is necessary to move the table and or the bed.
There is no Wi-Fi in the room (“well, here 1500 guests use it”).
The territory is ok, but everything is patched up, like in a gypsy camp. Removed tolerably. The beds are old and torn. Delivery trucks run right through the area.
Food and drink - we are used to Greek food so tolerable but tired by the end. Ate in taverns in the city.
The staff in the restaurant are excellent, helpful. The cleaners are rude. The worker rudely called my child in Greek in the pool, but we speak Greek, so we understood what he said. Apogee - a rude disgusting Russian-speaking aunt at the reception (aka the guest manager) who robbed me and called me a fool! In front of my child, when I went to the reception in frustration after being stuck in the elevator with the child in the evening.
We sat in the elevator for about half an hour, the child got scared, it was terribly hot. None!! ! The staff didn't notice us! I didn't have my mobile with me. The phone in the elevator didn't work! Instead of even asking if everything is fine, we were told: “so what? You have been released. Do other hotels get stuck in elevators? ” And after calling me a fool! In the morning she yelled at my husband in front of other guests and rudely called him names in Greek. Inappropriate and idiotic.
Totally ruined experience. I will never go back there, even if they pay me for living there))) terrible horror.
The hotel was chosen according to several criteria: a large area, the presence of a water park, all-inclusive meals, proximity to the airport.
ACCOMMODATION: We arrived at the airport of Heraklion at 20.30 after a three-hour flight from the airport of Dnipro. The journey of 30 km from the airport to the hotel took 1.5 hours! (a big minus for Tez Tour and the driver, who drove literally 30 km / h). We got to the hotel after 22.00. Settled immediately in a room overlooking the sea, but refused to feed, because. dinner ended at 22.00
Vacationers: 50% - Russian speakers (mostly Russians), 40% - Italians, Germans, Romanians, Slovaks and other Europeans, 5% - Arabs and Africans
They cleaned the room well every day, if they left a pack of cigarettes, they cleaned it better. Shower gel and shampoo brought only once on the third day. Towels changed daily, linen every 3 days. Safe in the room is paid - 15 euros per week (+ tourist tax about 30 euros). Wi-Fi caught in the room.
The territory is large, beautiful and well-groomed! There is a water park with a few slides, but the saltwater pool!
Animation Entertainment: practically absent, except for aqua aerobics and evening chants near the bar. I won’t say anything about children’s animation, but it exists : )
The lack of animation does not affect the overall positive impression of the rest at the hotel.
FOOD: fed well. Constantly several types of meat: lamb, beef, pork, sometimes a rabbit. Desserts are tasteless. There was almost no fish, several times it was stewed with vegetables and once fried. There was a queue for delicious ice cream : )
Fruits: oranges, watermelon, melon, sometimes peaches.
Alcohol: in addition to good light beer, there is whiskey (disgusting), red and white wine (so-so), aniseed vodka (disgusting).
SEA: clean and beautiful. We went to the beach to the nearby Star Beach Hotel, which is located in a small lagoon. It is better to take swimming shoes, because. entry into the sea on rather large stones.
Souvenirs: the hotel is well located on a long shopping street with many shops, cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops. A little further you can go to the embankment with a bunch of restaurants, nightclubs and just beautiful views (especially in the evening). Olives, oil, etc. bought in the supermarket "Spar", which is located next to the hotel.
EXCURSIONS: The hotel guide could not really tell about any excursion, but you need to pay right now (the second minus Tez Tour on this trip). Excursion to the Palace of Knossos (Minotaur's labyrinth) + Lassithi Plateau + Zeus' cave at Tez Tour cost 55 euros / person. The same tour at the agency immediately upon leaving the hotel - 30 euros / person.
There is a bus stop near the hotel: you can go to Heraklion for shopping / excursion. The ticket costs 3.3 euros / person. There are a lot of car rental offers at low prices (but gasoline in Crete costs 1.7 euros per liter).
SUMMARY: If you want a good family vacation in a good hotel with a large landscaped area and water slides, with the opportunity to see relatively inexpensive local attractions, swim in the cleanest Aegean Sea, try Greek cuisine in local restaurants - I recommend this hotel!
I would like to emphasize and shout directly, comrades, take seriously what is written about mosquitoes, there are a lot of nuclear mosquitoes, adults cried from them, children swell, all are devoured. Can't sleep at all, and you won't open the windows, they're right there. In general, we had the feeling that they were specially brought in and released into the rooms. BE SURE TO TAKE FUMIGATORS AND PLATES, WE BURNED THEM THERE SHAMANIL, If anything is better liquid, it costs 4 euros there, 2 euro records. Excursions are very expensive in the hotel, on the street exactly two times cheaper. We rented a car for 4 days from a hotel guide, the guide made the route for us (along the donkey trails, serpentines, the children were afraid, although I was the driver, I was completely stressed) that we gave the car back two days later, the money was not returned, they were transferred to the excursion , had to go.
In general, the withdrawal of simple money paid by the hotel is not worth it.
We didn't like the room we were given and asked to change it. Thanks to our hotel guide for helping us with this and as a result we got a room on the third floor with a side sea view. Everything is standard in the room, we were at the sea almost all the time, so we did not pay attention to some shortcomings in the room. But the cleaning is very high quality, which is a plus.
The food at the hotel is also good, a varied selection of dishes and desserts. Since the food system is "all inclusive", so sticking to a diet here is simply unrealistic. Everything is so tasty and fresh. As for drinks, we didn't always like what they offered at the bar. Therefore, most often they bought a bottle of wine in a supermarket and enjoyed the taste of Greek young wine.
The hotel has a small sandy beach, which is very well maintained. The sea is clean and beautiful. The animation in the hotel is good, but as for me, they entertain children more.
In addition to swimming in the sea, we went on several excursions. We visited the Palace of Knossos, the hallmark of the island. So to speak, touched the ancient history of Greece. I really liked the whole story that is connected with this palace. We also stopped during an excursion to Heraklion and walked around the capital of the island.
Crete always attracts us with its unusualness, beautiful sea, high mountains and gorges. We have not visited so many things yet, that, probably, next time we will choose this island for recreation again.
The food at the hotel is good, a variety of dishes, a lot of vegetables, fruits and desserts. The hotel has two free bars with drinks and one is paid.
The sea is amazing, clean and warm water, good entry into the sea. There were always free umbrellas and sun loungers on the beach, a fairly wide coastline.
Our room was also not bad, everything worked out, very close to the sea and close to the restaurant. The sea view was not direct, but generally good. Simple style in the interior, medium in size, there was enough space, clean, regular cleaning.
I was pleased with the animation in the hotel, I didn’t have to be bored, in addition to this, there is a lot of entertainment, the territory has its own mini water park, swimming pools, tennis, beach volleyball, billiards. The territory is beautiful, well-groomed. The internet signal is good, but only works in the reception area.
During the rest, we visited the old Hersonissos, walked around the local attractions, and also flew to Santorini, and were completely delighted with this island. Island of volcanic origin with black volcanic sand on the beach. Beautiful architecture, cobbled streets, white houses and gorgeous views of the volcano's caldera. And besides this, we went to the Cretan evening, where we got acquainted with the traditions of the island of Crete, had a delicious dinner, participated in master classes and tried the traditional dish of Crete lamb Anticristo.
We recommend the island of Crete to everyone. The island is very rich in the history of Ancient Greece, architectural monuments and beckons. Therefore, we can safely recommend both the island and the hotel for recreation.
Upon arrival, we were quickly settled, given a fairly good room with a partial sea view. The room was on the second floor away from a separate infrastructure. It suited us very well, because we wanted it to be quiet. After settling in, we set out to explore the surrounding area. Hersonissos was a five minute walk from the hotel. The city itself is full of bars, taverns, shops and souvenir shops. During the rest several times went in the evenings for a walk there.
The beach near the hotel is also good, there is a small area with a sandy entry into the sea. Sun loungers, umbrellas were always available, according to the all-inclusive system, there was no need to pay extra for them. Within walking distance there is another small beach in the bay, there was also a good entry into the sea, but there were small waves.
We really liked the food, both at the hotel and in local restaurants and taverns. The portions are huge, everything is very tasty and high quality. In the tavern, the average check for two people was always between 20 and 30 euros.
I think that this is not our last vacation in Crete and Greece, we really fell in love with this country. So we are looking forward to our next vacation.
