Cons of the hotel: 1. Sea. Guys, well, going to the Caribbean to get waist-deep into the water is ridiculous. They fenced part of the sea with sand bales, and left a small lake for the children. Plus, a huge amount of algae. Although, they fight every day.
2. Pool. Well, okay, we reconciled with the sea. But why not make the pool deep? 1.35cm. It also turns out for children. How to swim in it?
Bottom line: if you are looking for new experiences, history and all the delights of Mexico - you are here. If for an excellent All inclusive - also here. But, if you are lovers of swimming, diving, fooling around in the waves, you will not be able to enjoy the sea. It's clearly not here.
out of 14 days-5 days it was raining, but it was even needed because the body asked for a rest from the sun... but on the plane, people on the way back did not show a special tan, more and more with shabby noses and red backs after burns....Wild animals roam the area. they feed excellently.
About 10 days before the trip, an email was sent to the hotel with a request to book a room on the 2nd-3rd floor and not far from the beach, as well as 6 restaurants. A few days later, the answer came that our wishes for the room were entered into the computer, but they could not guarantee, and the restaurants were booked - which we wanted and at a convenient time for us. We arrived at the hotel around 7pm. We received the keys to room 1701 (villa 17) and were surprised where we were settled (ground floor, the farthest villa from the beach, next to the road along which trains travel between hotels and a new building). The next day we went to the reception to exchange the room. There is only one answer - the hotel is full, there are no free rooms.
No arguments (two children and a pre-sent email) did not work. Only after 4 days they moved to another room on the second floor of Villa 11 next to the sea. The air conditioner in the room did not work, or rather it worked but as a fan (at night it was impossible to sleep at all, since the air conditioner was automatically turned off centrally for several hours). There were small ants in the room, which crawled into our suitcases and things the very first night.
The room service was good (the room was cleaned every day, linen and towels were changed, as well as their token figurines made from towels on the bed). Oh yes, I forgot to say - upon arrival, a bottle of champagne and a bowl of fruit are waiting for you in the room.
We went to restaurants: don Pablo - the best beyond praise, Mecado - show table - cool, Tortuga (Brazilian) - I liked it, Tequila (Mexican) - I liked it, Medeteranio - not very food like in a buffet.
Tulum buffet: breakfast - scrambled eggs, pancakes, yoghurts, cereals, fresh juices; lunch and dinner - sushi, Spanish dishes, Mexican dishes. Of the fruits, there have always been watermelon, two types of melons, pineapples, papaya. From sweet - cakes, three types of ice cream, jelly. From seafood - every day grilled fish and with some kind of sauce, very often they gave mussels and cuttlefish dishes. I advise seafood lovers to go to the Coba buffet, which I did especially for dinner (much more choice). And in my opinion the Coba buffet is much better than the tulum buffet.
The beach is protected by breakwaters, there are no waves, which is good for children. The water is very warm and clean. The fish were fed every morning. We saw four types of fish without any masks. Sunbeds start to take from 8 am. There are stones in the water, but it did not bother. The best beach is the beach of Akumal hotel.
We were lucky with the weather: 12 days without rain and the last 2 days there was a tropical storm (strong wind with rain).
The beach was closed, half of the thatched umbrellas were knocked down, something was upside down and scattered, something was floating in the ocean. But everything quickly began to restore.
The hotel has its own dolphinarium. Prices are $70 and up. Works from 9 am to 3 pm. Every day at 11:30 a free show with dolphins for 15 minutes.
Bicycles can be rented (free of charge, 1 hour per day). A jet ski costs $70 for half an hour.
The hotel area is clean and tidy. Of the animals seen coatis, raccoons, jaguanas.
