WHAT DOES SANTA CLAUS DO IN THE SUMMER?
As soon as it gets warmer, people massively leave the hateful apartments. Who goes to the resort, who hangs out on the river or lake, and who spends all weekends outside the city in his “hacienda”. What does Santa Claus do in summer?
Everyone knows that Yollopukki (the authentic name of Santa Claus) lives near the Arctic Circle - in Lapland. But we never wondered where he spends the warm season? And what does he do? There is a widespread belief that he is in a protracted hibernation in the summer, by analogy with the pastime of a bear in the winter. Other "experts" claim that Santa is illegally "emigrating" to Antarctica with the help of ubiquitous guide penguins. Still others say that it radically changes not only the color of the nose and its entire appearance. They are all wrong.
It's just that Yollopukki, like all decent mega-idols of nations, spends the summer in the country. It is located near the town of Kuusamo in northeastern Finland. The place, frankly, is a trump card, it is not for nothing that it is called the gate to Lapland. The locals even composed a small ode about him, which begins with the following lines: In mirror reflection lakes, heaps of granite rocks. Here is the realm of northern nature, in which there is no bad weather. The dacha itself is located on the edge of the forest, which Santa is very proud of. “We have a lot of forests and lakes here in Lapland. And always, as soon as the opportunity arises, I go deep there, I really love nature, ”he admits. These trips also have a practical side. The fact is that grandpa always invites numerous guests to his legendary sauna, which is traditionally heated “in a black way”. So he has to cut firewood and impose brooms. And in parallel - to collect fungi. They are very alluring here. So they ask for a wallet. But the sauna, of course, is preceded by other events. First, Santa Claus receives inquisitive guests in his country house.
He tells them about his life and extensive household. And it's really vast. Little elves scurry about here and there, picking berries so that Muori's grandfather's other half can make wonderful drinks from them. They also help her bake the legendary branded cookies in the form of various intricate figures. By the way, it doesn't even taste good. Literally melts in your mouth.
If anyone doesn't know, Santa is an avid fisherman. He has a special weakness for catching toothy pikes. They say his personal record is 22 kilograms 759 grams. Hard to believe, of course, but anything is possible here. Despite his venerable age, Klaus is no stranger to modern entertainment. For example, he knows a lot about dashing races on an ATV. And he himself “gives heat”, and offers guests. Another sporting hobby of the old man is quite aristocratic - golf. And although it is believed that this game originated in Scotland and was invented by shepherds who, with the help of staves (future clubs), drove stones into rabbit holes, Yollopukki has his own opinion on this matter. Say, once he delivered his correspondence to the nearest recipients in such a simple way. That is why he still teaches everyone at his dacha the wisdom of this fun. Having swung his stick to his heart's content and catching up the balls to his heart's content, Santa arranges a picnic right in nature - deftly fries fragrant sausages for himself and his guests. But the life of Yollopukki is full of not only entertainment.
With genuine love, he takes care of his faithful helpers - reindeer and loyal friends - husky dogs. The most important and responsible occupation of Santa is to read letters, because children from all over the world write to him all year round. And all the letters must be read, the same good elves help the grandfather in this. The most interesting ones are answered. And they are sent with grandfather's signature stamp. And, of course, all summer Yollopukki with a company of elves is preparing for Christmas, picking up gifts. In order not to reveal surprises ahead of time, photography of this exciting process is prohibited, so I can’t publish the corresponding pictures. It's a pity.
