Holidays in Finland
*Smiled. Something pulls me lately to short forms of rest. No matter how you get used to it))
So. I decided to go to Finland for three days, while the Finair company pampers us on a direct flight from our city. I did it, in October the flights stop, and my visa ends. Direct flight is convenient - arrival at 6.40 am, and departure was at 23.55. Almost a holiday for three full days)))
Used. I took a ticket for a regular one (through an agency, I don’t know how, it just happened). Hotel Cumulus Kallio Helsinki 3* (single, breakfast). This is a line of hotels chosen by Kalio because of its conditional proximity to the center. Looked for information everywhere. Even here I tried to throw a question about the trams to the hotel. I waited and waited a little, then once again I penetrated the secrets of the Internet... helped me out. Practically a panoramic version of everything I saw and found out. And then I received an answer in Turpravda, at least one - thanks anyway.
I flew in, got to the railway station by bus from Finair (6.30 euros, but you could also take bus 615 - much cheaper; I didn’t want to wait long). By the way, the border control asked me for a tourist voucher for a hotel and a return ticket. Why am I so interested in them? ))
After all, the arrival is early - it will not work to check in at the hotel, so I looked around the center, found an exit to the information agency on the market square (on the Esplanade), admired the bay, the seagulls (such thick ones)..... Good)) ) In the information center (corner building) there is one employee who speaks good Russian (sitting near the window). Discounts, promotions, a bunch of booklets... I typed for further clarification and the hotel. I calmly drove to its doors (at the very entrance - Urheilutato tram stop, No. 3). Checked in earlier than 14.00, than I was pleased. The room is small (even very small), but everything was minimal for a 3-day stay (there is a review of the hotel right there on Turpravda). And back to the center). I took a sightseeing tour on a double-decker bus (Hop on - hop off) + a boat trip around the Helsinki archipelago) - 35 euros for 24 hours. I took a bus ride along the entire route, it turned out almost non-stop, since I was the last guest and I was "like a queen" for a ride, headphones with translation of 10 languages "look left, look right")). They brought it to the same place. And I immediately went to the pier. I was practically lucky, since the trip at 18.00 was not 1.5 hours, but 2.5 - due to lunch. I didn’t feel like eating anymore, so I settled down on the upper deck with blankets and contemplated the surroundings in the rays of the setting sun. Lots and lots of islands. Practically on each there are houses, from each there is a descent into the water... Somewhere boats, somewhere hydroplanes, somewhere the islands are connected by drawbridges (the bridge departs from the coast of a neighboring island during the daytime)... Good)))
In the morning after breakfast (the buffet is quite hearty, anyway - not a continental breakfast, there is already something to compare with) I walked to the square on foot. And from 10 o'clock I was again on the bus - you ride to the next stop, get off, walk, then onto the next bus. The main thing is not to lose the ticket (must be presented))) Senate Square, the Cathedral, the Church in the rock, the monument to Sibelius, etc. I remember some of the information from my last trip (in April I passed through Finland from St. Petersburg to the ferry to Stockholm and back, there is a review here on Turpravda), I saw something yesterday. In general, I walked around the city. I went to the Olympic Stadium and (thanks to passers-by) reached the Linnanmä ki amusement park. I was already impressed from afar with my alien towers, free admission, delicious ice cream and funny horror stories, since I didn’t pick anything for myself from the attractionoff))) But I looked into the SeaLife aquarium, according to the booklet, the price is 16.50 euros, according to the information center discounts - 10 (" if you take this, that and that one more. . . "), and the guy at the checkout told me - a special day and took only 8 euros). Like this)) I took a walk and looked. I was impressed by the convex-concave entrances to the pools, when there is water from the right-left-top, it’s just as if you are taking a step into the water))
On this day, I was finally without legs . . I had to walk so much) pleasant fatigue.
But the next (oh, the last here) morning I bought a tram card for the day (8 euros) - one ticket in transport 3.2, but didn’t buy a Helsinki card (I have a short stay here), I calculated - it’s even unprofitable with discounts and free admission to museums. Transport goes great - fast, clear, clean inside, stops (this and the next one) are shown on the scoreboard, at the stops the scoreboard correctly reports the waiting time, you don’t need to climb the stairs - the entrance-exit is at the level of the stopping area. Nice.
In the morning I got (barely on foot, but it turns out there is a tram to it)) to the Vikings terminal and found out that it would really be possible to take a ferry ride to Tallinn and back, but I already had the "last day" (here) registered)) In the afternoon I handed over the room, left things in the room at the reception under supervision (for free, which could not please) and went for a walk). I traveled on different tram routes (4.1 and 1a, 2) - to see the city. It's nice that some trams change their numbers at the final stops (3 turns into 2 and vice versa), walked through the central shops - Forum, Sokos, Kluvi, Stockmann... oh, caught my eye on a blouse, and it's a little more than 200 euros . . I know how to choose)))
I had a snack (tasty and almost inexpensive) in the market square and markets - fish soup, fried and boiled fish, etc. The fish is very tasty (it's nice to remember))
In the evening I got to the airport by bus 615 from the railway / station using the same transport card (you can buy it at the information center or R-kiosks, the latter are a curious bistro + press kiosk). Border control is tough. . . My yogurt was laid out - 150 grams (my nightly breakfast. . . ), snickers was checked, roll-on deodorant was removed in a bag. but it was more offensive for canned fish - they laid it out, seized it. Even my mournful "My fish. . . " didn't help.... eh.....
The airport is huge.....our gate 36k according to the signs was in some kind of minus version - you go, you go...... But there was Wi-Fi and sockets for recharging. And next to me is an empty seat on the plane. And they arrived in 2 hours, and not like there - for 2.40. And it’s good at home, even if it’s pouring rains and +10, and there, in the north of the mainland, +17 + 19 and people sunbathed, and swam in outdoor pools . . It’s curious how many city saunas there are, and tickets are ordinary - 6-8 euro.
So. I went. Well done.
Py. Sy. : Only cyclists are loved here - asphalt for them, and cobblestone pavement for everyone else. Although my shoes were comfortable, it turns out that comfortable for asphalt and comfortable for cobblestones are two big differences)))
Py Sy two: this is my first almost completely independent trip abroad, do not judge strictly))
Market Square, the same pavement
Railway station and Atlanta with lamps
Church in Kallio
The market begins (and apples for 5 euro kg)
Mini-golf course
Diverted bridge between islands
icebreakers laid up
an evening stroll through the archipelago
Already on the way to the amusement park
finally. . .
