Aland - an unplanned trip
We flew to Sweden, walked for a day or two. A friend has a Wiking line ferry membership card, so we thought about it and decided to take the opportunity to visit Aland. Many claim that this is part of Finland.... but don't tell the Alanders about it. . . you will look very stupid! Aland is a separate country, with all the attributes of an independent state. Due to the fact that we booked a round-trip trip via the Internet, we did not use the cabin... the bill was 0 kroons!
The bus included in the bill took us to Kapelcher directly to the terminal. The ferry crossing took 15 minutes, including the issuance of coupons for the reservation. It should be noted right away that the 2.5 hour walk along the autumn sea was quite calm. Not so many tourists climbed on board, but as many local residents who stock up on food in duty free. It’s very good for them there, practically leaving Sweden for a few hours to skimp and relax. In addition to a large dutik, there are several restaurants on board, a conference room, a children's room, cabins... Outdoor cafes have been curtailed due to the off-season, but inside everything works fine. Passengers are entertained with live music, karaoke, dancing, among which the tango is the best! Sailing from Sweden, we walked through the archipelago for half an hour - beautiful! on the way to Marienhamn - the same thing.
If you have time and a few tens of Swiss crowns - go for a swim, it's worth it.
