Barcelona area - Costa Bravo, Costa Dorado. My children stayed in apartments, ate in cafes, took food from the supermarket and cooked something for the children for dinner. We thought it was more convenient.

If you travel with children just for the sake of Port Aventura, then Costa Dorado.
But personally, I plan to go with my 9 year old son only to Costa Bravo because of the nature.
