Rested in Salou last year in August with older children. Excursions were taken in Bus Plana, there are many of them. It's much cheaper. Of course, I advise you to Port Aventura. You can at least spend the whole day there (and not even one) - rides, a water park, everything is great. Be sure to visit Barcelona. We were at the "singing" fountains, very beautiful. Were at the Camp Nou stadium - the son was happy. Photos with Messi and the Champions League have been brought. We also went on a long-distance excursion Nice-Cannes-Monaco. It's totally unforgettable!!! But it can be tiring with small children. We had a 2-3 year old baby on the bus, often crying. Of course, it's hard with kids. You definitely need to go to Barcelona! It’s just cheaper on the trains themselves, but again, 3 children ... Girona (not happy), Figueras - the Salvador Dali Museum (this is one excursion) - for an amateur, although of course someone who is not familiar with his work and method may be interested ... Port Aventura - they weren't, they say it's cool! perhaps in your version it is worth renting a car and thoroughly studying the Internet.
