Weekend in Barcelona
Quite unexpectedly, a free Monday and Tuesday appeared,
and tickets to it cost 80 euros per retour. So it was decided to go to Barcelona for a long weekend.
Since it was the eighth trip in a year to "have a rest", the budget was somewhat limited, and I don't like minus on a credit card.
I found a hotel for about 50 euros per room per day with breakfast (that is, this is the price for two), there was some kind of discount on booking, without it it’s like 60-70, but in my opinion they have discounts all the time))
The room is something like a local junior suite, clean and spacious, with one large bed (there are also two or three separate ones)
In general, I took the cheapest from a decent one)) If you book a hotel not a few days before the trip, then you can probably find something closer to the center.
The hotel is student, mostly young people; There are also older and aged people, but they are few.
There are also cheaper rooms than I mentioned, with cleaning once a week (we had daily), and there are very cheap ones, I didn’t quite understand, either with amenities on the floor, or a lot of beds in the room, like a hostel.
The hotel itself is good, located on a hill,
and the air there is amazing, completely different than on the coast and in the city.
The same hotel in the center would cost more than 100 euros per day.
Breakfast - a relatively large selection, there is everything that should be - yogurts, buns, milk, juice, tea, coffee, muesli, bread, scrambled eggs, jams, honey, salads, cheeses, sausages, sweets, croissants, some other meat stuff several types - but it's not very tasty. I would put a six out of ten (everything is fresh).
Of the minuses - to the center 20-30 minutes by metro, to the sea - 40 minutes.
The hotel is called Residencia Agora, three stars, located near the metro.
The plan was to rent bikes and ride them.
Alas, bike paths are not everywhere, and it is problematic to get to the hotel, especially since you need to go uphill.
We went by metro, it is most convenient to buy cards for a large number of trips, it’s cheaper (if I remember correctly, then 10)
I will not describe the sights of Barcelona - there is not enough space, in this regard, the trip was a success.
The sea was still warm, about +20+22, the air was up to +25 during the day, it was already cooler in the evening, about +17+18. I swam with pleasure, I don’t like sunbathing, but people sunbathed, although there are not very many people on the beach.
We rented bicycles for two days, and rode along the embankment and the center, to the sights, there are bike paths in the center almost everywhere.
The rest of the time - on foot and on a tourist bus, double-decker, there are different routes, the number of entrances and exits is not limited, it is also very convenient.
There is something strange about food in Barcelona.
What's in restaurants, what's in cafes, what's in cheap eateries where locals eat,
that on the coast - everything is somehow tasteless. And it looks fresh
and cooked normally...it's not only we noticed.
Well, in the end, we didn’t come to eat, it’s just that this factor surprised me very much.
So it makes sense to eat where decently and inexpensively, anyway
In places where it is more expensive it will not be tastier.
The main reason why they came - to see the city - they are 100 percent satisfied, there are a lot of impressions, and yes, for Barcelona 5 days is not enough. So I'll go again.
I dreamed about the living houses of Gaudi for a long time - I had the impression that the house was alive. And in the Sagrada Familia, the feeling is generally like on a spaceship.
Fell in love with this city from the first time))
