Spring in Madrid and Barcelona
Arrived for 3 days in Madrid in April 2019. Took a private car tour of Madrid. The guide was excellent - Anatoly Khuba. I spent the tour without loading dates and names - I drove it around the city with stops at the most famous places. The tour turned out to be 5 hours, we were very pleased - a wonderful acquaintance with the city. The weather was rainy almost all 3 days - about +10. We got out in Toledo - only 60 km from Madrid, also with a guide by car. Half day excursion - Toledo impressed us! We will definitely come again - I think that you can stop in this town for 2-3 days in order to take a leisurely walk around the medieval center of Spain, walk along the paths along the river, visit all the cathedrals and fortresses. The city, like a scenery for a film, is the spirit of antiquity and chivalry. Madrid itself is also very interesting, the Retiro Park with emerald parrots on blooming purple trees is just wonderful! Then we took a fast train to Barcelona - only 3 hours to go. We have already been to Barcelona more than once - we walked around our favorite places, lived in "our" hotel in the very center of the Gothic quarter. The weather has already improved and we enjoyed the spring Mediterranean sun and delicious delicacies in cafes on the boulevards of Barcelona.
In Madrid, the 4 * Eurostar La Lirica hotel - in the very center - is highly recommended. Clean, high quality
In Barcelona - Catalonia Avinyo 3* - in the center of the Gothic quarter, modern design, small rooms - but perfect for 4-5 days.
