I give you or Tibidabo
The ascent to the temple to a height of 518 meters consists of several stages. When you get to John F. Kennedy Square by tourist bus or on your own, you should hop on a romantic blue tram that has been driving uphill along a given route for more than a hundred years. Round trip fare 4.70. But it works only on the days in which the park also works. And it's definitely not Monday and Tuesday.
There is a 2nd option to cover the first part of the route - this is to jump on a regular bus, which, without any romance, will take you to the funicular in 10 minutes.
Here you transfer to the funicular and for 7.50 (round-trip ticket) you check in the last couple of hundred meters. In fact, there is another funicular there, to which a small bus takes you, parked right on the mountain in the square in front of the temple. But I do not know this route and it is clearly not very popular.
And so having reached the heights, you should definitely look around. To take your breath away, use the 2-ruble attraction, which will lift you up another 50 meters to take good photos against the backdrop of the temple.
Amusement park, quite attractive, but not breathtaking. You can take a walk and look at the attractions and get into the sky tower, where they show a film about the creation of a temple on this mountain. Movie in Catalan with English subtitles, in short, not for everyone. It costs 3 or 4 euros. In general, the park is aimed, of course, at children. There is also an interesting exhibition-museum of slot machines dating back to the end of the 19th century.
On that day, the park did not work and we immediately rushed to the temple. The temple is impressive and striking at the same time. Construction, which began at the beginning of the 19th century, lasted 18 years. The architect José Miret was the author of 12 granite apostles and the central bronze sculpture of Christ, crowning the entire structure.
Climbing up the wide front staircase you can get inside the temple. A temple of Gothic content with an organ and an interesting coat of arms and seating plan inside representatives of all Hispanic nations. You can book a tour of the temple, but you need to take care of this in advance, before the visit.
You yourself can climb to the height of the apostles on the elevator located inside the building. The cost is 2 euros. And from there, enjoying the view, climb the last meters up the stairs and get to the very figure of Christ, who, with outstretched arms, looks at all of Barcelona. And the whole of Barcelona, not remaining in debt, looks at him. Like us, after a visit, being in the city, we involuntarily lifted our heads from any point to see the memorable patronizing figure.
