Day 3.

Sagrada Familia.

If you only have one day in Barcelona, be sure to visit the Sagrada Familia!

Barcelona once decided to build a huge beautiful temple, and so that it would not look like anything before - and they succeeded! I will not describe - you just need to look. And slowly - it took us 4 hours.

Regarding the holivar on the topic "what Gaudi built is a masterpiece, but what after - everything was spoiled. "

In 1994, I saw the temple, almost as Gaudi left it - that is, the pediment of the Gate of the Nativity and 4 towers. It was charming, magnificent, with a certain unfinished finish. It did not look like a church, but rather like a fairy-tale palace of the sea king. There was nothing to see inside, and the very concept of “inside” did not exist - the building visually had a width, but no depth. Outside, everything was great, very unusual and mysterious....

Now there is volume and "inside". And inside, everything looks great and innovative - definitely worth a visit, not just outside.

Now it already looks like a church. The pediment of the Gate of the Nativity is already a little lost, and with the completion of the construction of the main (highest) towers, it will be lost even more. But this is the project of Gaudi himself! What claims to modern architects?!

In general, I understand critics, but I don't support them. ))))

Tickets were bought in advance, we were let in 5 minutes before our time. I liked the audio guide very much. Decide the issue of going up to the top of the tower (by elevator) in advance, being in the temple you can’t buy these tickets anymore (we didn’t succeed).

After the Sagrada, it's hard to watch anything. Therefore, we just went to nature, to Citadel Park. We drove two stops on the metro, walked past the Arc de Triomphe (apparently on the occasion of the first victory of Barcelona at Real))))) to the entrance to the park.

The park is old school, traditional, classic. With Roman figures at the entrance, a cascade of fountains with gilded statues

and (how lovely!!! ) a pond with boats for rent.

For everything about everything, the evening has already come, so there was no evening program that day.

Day 4.

Park Guell.

The number two most important object in Barcelona (after the Sagrada Familia). We love parks and nature, and we, accordingly, really enjoyed it. Again, it's hard to describe, you need to look.

Let's just say, a park at the foot of a mountain including the mountain.

Tickets to the Monumental Zone were bought well in advance. There is no audio guide here, they give out a brochure (it is quite enough).

It took 2 hours to visit the Monumental Zone.

Then we went out to the free zone, took a leisurely walk, with stops to listen to music, and had a picnic. We took food and wine with us (I recommend that culture is not very good on an empty stomach, and nothing is sold in the park). The ubiquitous Arabs actively trade water along the 1st, it’s just not worth carrying it in a backpack.

It took another 2.5 hours to spend time in the free zone. We got back by subway. The station is far away, but at least go down from the park.

Had a great day! Again, while we had dinner, there was no strength left for anything.
