We are going to the Hilton in early September, we are thinking about what excursions to take.

the ideal option is to sail by ferry, because. our excursion to Petra also included a visit to Jerusalem (a GORGEOUS excursion), then we went by bus, or rather crossed the Israeli border on foot, because. the hotel stands a couple of hundred meters from it, and I remember this transition with horror, because we were kept there for about 4 hours and this is for a transit visa! and by ferry without any problems at all, bypassing communication with the Israelis. Excursion to Petra is worthy of praise! Fabulous both historically and visually!!!

We only went to Petra by ferry. Departure from the pier from the Hilton, on the way about 50 minutes. Then 10 minutes passport control at the port (a beautiful stamp with Petra is glued into the passport) and by bus to Petra. To go 2 hours, you will have views and shops. Cosmetics from the Dead Sea in Petra are cheaper than in Israel, but the quality is the same. We spent half a day in the Gorge, walked about 8 km on foot, so take comfortable shoes. Dusty and hot, it is worth taking water and a handkerchief.
On the way back, we had a little ride around Akkaba, and on the ferry.
We liked!
