I prefer the balcony. At night, you can not close the balcony (if there are no mosquitoes) .. Drying things is definitely more convenient. There is nowhere to turn gray on the terrace if wet things are hung on the chairs. I had to live with the light, as the curtains are almost always closed. I read and wonder :) how many times we lived on the first floors, only pluses are in Turkey, in Egypt, and in other countries. We don’t specifically order the number of storeys, but somehow it turns out that basically we were settled on the first floor. Maybe they lived in different hotels, they didn’t take the family to the sloppipe, so no one ever stole towels and things, no one looked into the windows (in any case, it’s so obvious that it would bother us), but from the terrace there is either access to the pool (our own, or for the use of several bungalows, those peace and blessings), or on the lawn, usually on the ground floor, in addition to a table with chairs, there are sunbeds. For me there are some pluses. Children sleep - I swam in the pool, I sunbathe. Very comfortably.
