Be sure to take a pen! Yes, the most ordinary pen. :) The fact is that at the airport and at the entrance and exit, you need to fill out an emigration card. You can do it yourself or have it done for you for $5 per person. There are no handles on the stands. And the most difficult thing in this story is to beg someone for a pen. Everyone is in a hurry and those who filled out the card do not want to give a pen so as not to linger themselves.
Also take water shoes, even if the shore is cleared at your hotel. There are sea urchins in the Red Sea, the smallest of them can be the size of a match head, bites take a long time.

First aid kit. Good liquor if you drink. Mosquito repellent. Well, what do you need for a beach holiday, sunscreen.
If you forget something, you can buy it on the spot. Alcohol and drugs are expensive.
аватар zaeugene
I agree with catalina777 about the pen. Coral slippers can be bought on the spot from $2

TIP - take with you from home:
1. first of all - money in reserve and good mood
2. chocolates, seeds and vodka are good for souvenirs
3. ear plugs (may come in handy)
4. who does not want to spend money - take tar soap (for the body, head and soul, for the soul, in short)
5. you can also grab a band-aid (regular) or medical glue - they have problems with this, as, in fact, with greenery
6. who smokes - everything will be cheaper to buy at home (cigarettes there from $ 2)
7. And, if you plan to rent masks for diving, then do not forget to take some kind of antiseptic (disinfectant)
8. and also a remedy for flies and, especially, mosquitoes (you will understand us there in the evening ...)
TIP - buy immediately on the spot:
1. Day&Night tablets (only at Pharmacia) - $1 (£20)
2. Vatika shampoo (also only at Pharmacia) - $3.71 (65 pounds)
3. Solaire Tanning Oil - $3.71 (65 pounds) or Keratin (Carrot) - $6.85 (120 pounds)
4. Eva Cucumber Cream (Green Lid), small $1 (20 lbs), useful on the first day if you sit out in the sun, otherwise: you'll be a cucumber in the morning!
5. shower towel - $3-$5
6. And, if the toad does not choke and the pocket does not pull, then buy a good towel for the beach - $10-$15

do not buy T-shirts, shorts, beach slippers, masks, fins, etc. THERE - it is better and cheaper there, otherwise I support those who have spoken earlier.
аватар moy_contakt
Mask, fins, if available, or buy already on the spot. Nowadays trendy masks for the whole face cost from 15 to 25 ye (in our country they are sold more expensively). If you are traveling with children, then buy a water gun in Ukraine, because they sell the cheapest one in three ways on the spot and it breaks almost immediately. Tunics, T-shirts with long sleeves (this is simply the most necessary thing, the sun is thermonuclear, and if there are such Tunics for ladies, then for men this is a problem (they forgot their husband’s T-shirt at home, they couldn’t buy it, they only sold it with a short one everywhere).

+1 for the first aid kit. There are not many well-known drugs. And if you urgently need something, with the knowledge of local Russian it is difficult to convey what you need, and instructions are often only in the local language. So, for example, we have not found beneficial bacteria to be taken with antibiotics. After a visit to several pharmacies, I got the impression that it was not customary for them to take them with antibiotics.

Mandatory sunscreen with good protection, because getting burned is easy, and mosquito repellent (preferably not even a spray, but smoking spirals). In addition to chocolates (only without filler!) Ordinary barberries go very well. It is advisable to exchange dollars in advance at the bank for smaller ones, because no one will give you change in dollars (especially at the bazaar). Maximum - will give change in pounds at an overvalued three times the rate. I advise you to take ordinary cosmetic soap from home, because good soap is rarely available in hotels. Well, slippers - walk in the room and on the beach. Aquashoes are a must for kids. Of the drugs, it is necessary to have atoxil and remedies for headaches. Have a nice holiday!
аватар eremenko-alla
do not collect a lot of things: 1 T-shirt, shorts, thin trousers, tunic and sundress, comfortable shoes. Cosmetics, except for sunscreen and lip balm, are also not needed. In pharmacies, prices are ten times cheaper than in our country. What you were looking for is called Laktiol
аватар Tetjana1
Do not take a lot of things, the essentials, we scored a bunch, but wore a couple of pieces, so that there would be something with a long sleeve, you burn at a time. We ate back and packed a suitcase because we bought gifts, but there was only one suitcase :-)
From mosquitoes, that's for sure, we took a universal mosquito fumigator and plates and liquid, sprays.
Also from sunburn and before and after and during, not less than 50 protection.
Do not believe it: a couple of clothespins to dry, we had ropes on the balcony.
Mini first aid kit, I personally took everything from brilliant green to antipyretic, thank God nothing came in handy, but it's better to bring it back.
Corals bought on the spot.
And don't forget to put your manicure supplies in your suitcase. Yes, and all creams, lotions, shampoos, balms in luggage, but pack well in clothes, because suitcases are thrown at random. I personally witnessed how all these bottles and jars were confiscated at Sharm airport without a shadow of regret.
аватар Vika284
Rashguards in order not to burn, buy a good mask for snorkeling here in Kyiv, in the first-aid kit, activated charcoal and if your trip to Egypt is now July-August September, a cream with a high degree of protection

First of all - a passport and money. Also, be sure to take a bank card with money or a credit limit. It is often more profitable to pay by card. In light of the frequent flight disruptions, additional money on the card for food, water, and a hotel will not interfere. If you forgot something at home, then the money will help you, you can buy everything you need. Read reviews of your hotel, there may not even be shampoo and balm in the rooms. Then take it with you, just pour it into a small container. First aid kit is required.
аватар taran_natala
For coral slippers - read the description of the hotel and reviews. If you have a steep coral and the entrance is only from a pontoon, then slippers will only interfere, fins are better.
аватар travelsita
I join everything that has been said and I want to add the "Rescuer" ointment. Helped me out a lot. Twice injured by corals. And a film for wrapping luggage (may not be in stores).
аватар mindguru
The luggage wrapping film we bought in Sharm is MUCH better than the one sold in our supermarkets for almost the same price.
аватар travelsita
I mean NOT cling film. We buy film at Yunost, for 19 UAH 200 m. It is denser, does not tear and does not get confused. What is in supermarkets is for sandwiches.
аватар mindguru
travelsita, there are many people and they are all different.
аватар alex45
By the way, about ropes and clothespins. Take both!
And yet, be sure to have several extension cords or tees. As a rule, there are not enough sockets, but you need to charge the equipment! Ointment "rescuer" can also be useful for sunburn, and any abrasions and bites can be lubricated.
аватар mindguru
In fact, there are plenty of outlets in the room (of course, if you are not a film crew that needs to charge 20 batteries at the same time). A tee won't hurt, it's small, but dragging an extension cord... It's better to take an external battery: it takes up less space.
аватар zaeugene
I'm fucking shocked... Ropes, clothespins, extension cords? Do you go to homeless hotels and live in wooden houses, as you were at camp sites during the scoop?
аватар travelsita
We had 5 sockets in the room, including on the balcony and in the bathroom. Only one didn't work. Four outlets were more than enough. There was no mention of extensions. But a couple - three clothespins you can take. When we leave swimsuits and towels on the balcony to dry at night, it is better to grab them so that they do not fall.
аватар vella_vella
1. A tunic with sleeves and covered shoulders - for girls and something with a long sleeve - for men. From natural fabric. Light long pants (both for m and for women). Just in case, think over the option of swimming clothes (there is a big risk of burning in the water). It is desirable that it be clothes in a sling, tk. water and air accumulate under loose clothing and it is uncomfortable to swim.
2. Hat/cap (m/w)
3. Maxi/fins/shoes for swimming still advise you to buy at home. Prices in Egypt are the same, but you have to bargain and run around. I personally don't like this. Masks like Subea EASYBREATH (for the whole face) if the original - then we have more expensive. In Egypt, I saw only copies, and we have them at the same price.
4. Packing material for the suitcase on the way back. According to the rules, it is obligatory to pack luggage in film when departing from Egypt. Find out in advance if the hotel has a luggage packing service. This year, for example, we had ($ 2 per suitcase). You can buy a foam set at the airport (bag and scotch tape)
5. First aid kit
6. It is better to try to buy a local SIM card at the airport. This year the hotel was somehow unreasonably expensive (4GB for $15, or here you also had to bargain....???:))
аватар NellyK
you wrote some prices for medicines and shampoos thermonuclear ... Vatika bought for 1 dollar in the Russian-language pharmacy Sharma, they are in Hadab and are in the Old City, but they bring an order to any hotel on a call. I'll add my 5 cents in favor of the extension cord. We take it always and everywhere, so universal with a bunch of different connectors, for all types of plugs and with 3 USB connectors. Very comfortable and indispensable thing on the road. Somehow, on a trip during a transfer in Dubai, this extension cord was taken away from us (we took it in hand luggage so that during the transfer it was possible to connect to sockets at the airport) (previously, not at any airport, including this one, no one I didn't pay attention, and this item is not listed in the list of things prohibited from being carried in hand luggage.. but you can only prove it to them... It was pointless to argue. Bought a new one upon arrival..) I will continue. In all hotels, on the wall under the TV, this extension cord takes its place of honor and there is no need to unplug phones, laptops and other equipment throughout the room. If 1-2 people are traveling, then this is of course not essential. But when a bunch of people are driving and everyone has their own phone, tablet, laptop, etc. . . . . . this extension cord is a godsend. It also happens that there are a lot of sockets in the room, but they are all so inconveniently located. . .. In general, it doesn’t take up much space, but on vacation (I repeat, for our large family) it would simply be very difficult without it. And just a tee would not have saved us.
аватар mindguru
vella_vella, you need to bargain in Egypt in any situation, and not just in the bazaar.
аватар vella_vella
mindguru, well, somehow there was no desire, I don’t like this business :)
аватар alex45
About the rope! I don’t want to say that it won’t take up much space, but when you see when people from the first floor of the bungalow lay out and dry towels and swimwear on chairs and armchairs near the door that goes straight to the street and there isn’t even a courtyard, you probably think, why am I I didn’t take a skein with clothespins, I would have attached it to a palm tree.
About the extension! I didn’t write that there should be about five meters. It can be the shortest! But the TV, refrigerator, table lamps, attached to the shower hair dryer, then, too, you think, why didn’t I take an extension cord (tee), because it takes up little space.
But I don’t insist, if you want to take it or not, it’s your business. Just in case, I’ll take it!
аватар mindguru
Ropes, clothespins, extension cords..
Are you going to rest in a hotel or to your country house?
...do not forget to take salt and matches with you.
аватар vella_vella
you can take a knife, cut a purchased mango :) just check it in your luggage, you can’t carry it in your hand luggage
аватар moy_contakt
Dear mindguru! That's exactly what I'm going to rest and imagine, I take both an extension cord and threads with a needle (I never had to use it) and a folding knife (a very necessary thing) and a travel iron (small) I take, a thermometer and much more, maybe you said it right , I'm going to rest, and not to search on the spot for "where to buy" or think "oh, the phone is dead, and my son put an external battery, maybe he wants to play the game and charge the tablet at the same time", but where to stroke. . etc. I do not take the rope with clothespins. . not everywhere it is needed, but a couple of times it would not hurt. . . . I have a notebook with a list of must-have things on the road + there is a travel kit in my suitcase (a knife, a manicure set, an iron, threads, small shampoos, soap, disposable machines + a first-aid kit to which expiration dates do not apply (hydrogen peroxide, rescue ointment, band-aid, cotton pads, ear buds (the rest is added just before the trip itself. This is what I remembered. You can buy everything, but not everywhere (and sometimes you need it here and now) there is an opportunity to do it locally - you need to go, go. . .. The same medicines that I refer to the category of "ambulance" - furozalidon (twists, hurts the stomach, frustration, nausea), antipyretic !!
