Interested in prices / per 1 kg for fruits and seafood in Sharm at the moment or for 17-18
Hello! Interested in prices / per 1 kg for fruits and seafood in Sharm at the moment or for 17-18: mango, strawberry, guava, papaya, dates, figs, grapes, citrus fruits, etc.
Maybe someone can make a comparison with prices in Dahab and Hurghada? It would be great! ) Thanks!

Good afternoon! We bought mango for 4 dollars / kg, strawberries 200-300 g - 1 dollar. Shrimp 12-14 USD / kg.
аватар xeexee
Oh, if you can in pounds? So more precisely...
And they are interested in prices in the market or in the supermarket, i.e. in places where the price tag is as close as possible to the local, and not tourist.
Thank you.

we bought in the SOHO area on April 10 melons and mangoes for 5 dollars, kg
аватар zzzz455620
1 bucks = 17.5 pounds, and you don’t have to change bucks, they take dollars everywhere !!! This is a country not Honduras named Ukraine! :-))))))))))))))))))

Oh ... this is something too dashing 1 bucks for 200-300g (((
The normal price is like 15-20 pounds per kg.
аватар zzzz455620
Tiger prawns 1kg=12 bucks, strawberries 1 bucks
аватар xeexee
zakir1970 But using pounds is much more profitable, especially if you plan to live for several months and eat affordable fruits and fish in large quantities.

Bucks decide everything, all over the world !!!!!
аватар xeexee
laraskalska, "melon and mango 5 dollars, kg"
Well, this is a tourist price tag and apparently for off-season fruits.
I am interested in a normal price tag close to the local market or supermarket, which will fit for a long stay.
аватар xeexee
zakir1970 In the market in dollars, the price is called more expensive than in pounds.
Why overpay if the trip is planned not for 1-2 weeks, but for several months - this is noticeable.

Is it possible to pay with dollars in a supermarket?
аватар xeexee
I'm trying to decide where to go and the main criteria for choosing a place are calm beaches and affordable fruits and fish at Egyptian prices.
аватар xeexee
Are there other suitable places?
аватар zzzz455620
Hadaba area, there are private houses, supermarkets, a bazaar, a promenade, pizzerias, in short, there is everything, not expensive, in large quantities!
аватар zzzz455620
Prices for fruits and fish are about the same as in Ukraine

In Ukraine! You don't speak Russian or Egyptian. Elementary grammar of the Russian language you speak!
аватар zzzz455620
No, they say in Ukraine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
аватар zzzz455620
Belarusians and Russians speak in Ukraine, and crests in Ukraine, at home!
аватар xeexee
Sorry, but only victims of political propaganda or simply illiterates say this.
And Ukrainians and everyone else say "in Ukraine".

zakir1970
No, I am a native of Kiev, where I have lived all my life, I have traveled a lot around Ukraine and have never met Ukrainians saying "in Ukraine".
And I’m going to live in Egypt for a few months because, for health reasons, I need a dry, hot climate. And if this is not a package 2-week tourism, then the price of food and housing is of key importance!!!
Rednecks are those who consider someone else's budget and cannot decline the name of their country.

groceries (ALL, including fruits) are the cheapest to buy at the Carrefure supermarket - one is on Naama Bay, the other is near the Sunterra and Delta compounds. and the cheapest way to rent an apartment is on Hadaba, on a minibus to the supermarket it’s only 3.5 pounds. in the Old City, fruits are more expensive, but there is a larger selection. there are groups on FB for renting real estate in Sharm facebook.com/groups/1965427813713807, and for life facebook.com/groups/russianspeakingsharm/ - there are a lot of Russian-speaking people living there.

Thanks for the detailed answer.
I already saw the group on FB, tell me, is it really possible to find an apartment on the spot? First, book something for a couple of days ... and look around Hadaba to look?
You can’t tell the prices for fruits and fish in the Old Market approximately how much more expensive in summer than, say, Hurghada or Dahab (if you were there).
Dahab is perhaps more comfortable for long-term housing, but it is very windy there.

I was only on excursions in Dahab, I haven’t been to Hurghada at all and I don’t plan to - there are practically few fish on the BEACH (you have to go to Paradise Island to swim with them) - and I love coral reefs on the beaches, not sandy ones. Charm is more suitable for this, and there is a vibrant cultural life on the streets, the Russian diaspora - unlike Dahab ... there is a paradise for divers, but in the evenings - only in entertainment hotels, and "outside" - everything is sad, just a poor village. .. and VERY poor .. I can’t compare prices in the summer - I was from November to February. and as far as I understand, everything went up in price last year, and what will happen this year is still unclear ...

an apartment on the spot and you have to look. because in the photo you will not be shown a trash can under the windows ... or VERY loud neighbors ... if you are flying from Kyiv - ask you to look for tours for 2-3 nights, they are very cheap - 110-130 dollars (with a flight in TWO directions , you just won’t fly back and that’s it, just buy a visa at the airport for a month, for $ 25). but they are rare, several times a month, so they must be "caught". if you are not tied to a specific departure date, this is very convenient.
аватар xeexee
Do you live in Sharm?
By the way, about the visa question, I was told that you can not buy at the airport, but pay a fine of 60 bucks upon departure. If you live for more than 3 months, then it is more profitable and you do not need to deal with visaran and prolongation. Is there another option to request a visa for half a year? don't know if this is real?
The reefs, of course, are very good and they say swimming in the sea is more useful where there are more corals, they say the water is richer in microelements.
But it scares me that Russians will fly to Sharm this summer, so they will raise the price tag for everything. And also the situation with the beaches, small beaches are densely packed with sunbeds, and paying 5 bucks every day for a good beach is not an option ... it’s better not to go to public ones ... I think I can’t stand this for a long time.
Dahab just likes sports tourism, during the day everyone is busy with business, and at night they sleep tired and many Europeans live for a long time, markets are like in India (Friday market, fly market, etc.). Friends have been this year say fruit fish is very cheap.
