And I liked the Royal for the price, but three reviews mention cockroaches randomly running through the rooms. And my imagination does not allow me to easily book a tour. Eh :(

Do spiders or something else scare you? It's a local color. Ants, cockroaches, chipmunks, monitor lizards on the lawn (snakes sometimes) - I'm not only talking about Egypt, but what I encountered in other countries. And the fact that for our tourists is horror, for the locals the norm, they live with it and do not understand the squeals from our side. In India, when I found a huge spider in the villa (this is my biggest phobia, I'm not afraid of anything else), the local cleaner removed it, said that it's okay, he (more precisely, she is a spider) bites painfully, but not poisonous .... this is trash .... I am touched by stories about how an ant was seen somewhere in a room, etc. ....

I have been to Royal Grand Sharm 5* and Club El Faraana Reef 4* so I can compare them.
Faraana has a better reef and sandy shore, but there is no entry over the reef (no bridges or pontoons). I swam from the shore!
In Royal, the entrance to the sea is a pontoon, and the reef is a coral wall, 30 m deep. My wife, although she swims, was afraid of the depth. Therefore, she liked the reef in Pharaan and the fish swam to the shore.
Their rooms are somewhere equivalent, I recommend taking a room in the Royal in the central building, very large with a huge veranda. Do not take the first floor anywhere in the bungalow, not only a cockroach can crawl!
in Faraan there are only bungalows, on the first floor there is not even a place to attach ropes for drying bathing accessories.
For food - I liked it more in Faraan, especially in the Grill restaurant. cooking on the coals! We visited the Royal Grand last summer. I liked the reef, the rooms are not new but everything is decent, the territory is also beautiful, the food was good. It's certainly not a super five, but quite good. All liked it

Were in Jaz Fanara Resort - really liked it. The territory is large, the coral is super. Food too. If you wish, you can read a detailed report about the hotel on the blog "There Are Hedgehogs". We were very pleased with the hotel. And in the evening you can walk to the lighthouse, watch the sunset.
