If the price is the same and the goal is snorkeling, then I would also go to the Renaissance. In Phanar, only the entrance is good - sand, there is not even a pontoon. Is the El Fanar beach between the Renaissance and Fanara (right next to the lighthouse) not suitable? I can't tell you the truth about prices.

Renaissance Gold View - the hotel is a priori better than Jaz Fanara - you can safely swim from it to the very beach of Jaz Fanara - about half an hour of leisurely swimming;)
