Need advice from those who were in Petra
I calculate the profitability of the tour. Purpose: to see Petra + warm sea. Dilemma: buy a last-minute tour to Sharm + an excursion to Petra or go to Jordan?
Now a shaft of burning tours for 300 bucks to Sharm + an excursion to Petra 250-300 bucks. It turns out 550-600. For the same money you can buy a tour of Aqaba + entrance to Petra + bus. But the sea in Aqaba is cooler than in Sharm. But on the other hand, I have already been to Egypt, but not to Jordan. Visa there and there is free. If in Sharm - Sinai only. If to Jordan, then for Ukrainians who come for more than 3 days it is also free. We need advice from those who were in Petra, it doesn’t matter from Sharm or from Aqaba

And in Aqaba, $ 500-600 is it from the nose? Or a double number? Thank you.

From the nose))

We traveled from Taba for 2 days to Israel, then overnight in Akkaba and Petra. All liked it. Everyone got to see. Yes, and hotels in Jordan, to put it mildly, are more expensive.

In Petra a heavy excursion. I advise Redsee.kiev.ua (Marwan turs) you can bargain.. I think it’s better from Sharm.

Better from Sharm. Try to ask on the website Redsee.kiev (Marwan turs). Significantly cheaper. They have all other excursions. Cheaper. Through them were 2 times in Cairo, 1 time in Luxor,! 1 time in Jerusalem, 1 time in Petra, several times on others. Everything was without problems. But Petra is a rather difficult excursion.
Bon voyage.

To visit Petra, we specially went to Aqaba - a new country, an individual tour (taxi 80 USD - there are contacts), entrance to Petra, if you live in Jordan for more than a day - less by 40 dinars (1.4 dollars), at the entrance provided hotel vouchers. We walked around Petra for 4 hours - and this was not enough, we never climbed to the monastery (950 degrees) ((, well, the country is much more expensive than Egypt. And you choose ...

Nusia and the sea in Aqaba how? In October I was in Eilat (Israel) (10-15 km from Aqaba), the sea was cold for me. Even the Mediterranean in Tel Aviv was warmer than the Red in Eilat.

Eilat was just on the other side of us (if you wish, you can safely swim across), then the sea will be the same. We were in March - it was comfortable for us to swim. Well, even there, not on every beach you can see the underwater beauty of the Red Sea as in Sharm.

It is better to go to Petra for 2 days, you will see a lot more, and you can calmly walk until late and the sunset there is awesome. (for an additional fee they are allowed). Even in Jordan, after all, not only Petra, Mount Nebo, where the prophet Moses died, the Wadi Rum desert, where the multi-colored sands. I advise you to go to Jordan. I traveled from Sharm, very tiring, first by car, then by ferry, then by bus. When we arrived in Petra, we were already tired. Have a nice rest!

We went from Sharm to Petra for 210 d.s. per person last November through http://redsea-travel.ru/. The trip as a whole takes 20-22 hours, in Petra itself there were 4 hours - not enough and hard, but we liked it , no regrets!
аватар Slav1
Oh, 210 is the norm price.
But 4 hours is not enough ... until this and that, you need to go to the bus.
As I understand it, Jordan has not been satisfied lately that everyone is going to the Met Sea to Israel (although they have the same thing) and they are going to see Petra from Egypt. That's why they canceled the calls for those who go to them + the entrance to Petra is cheaper, with a voucher from their hotel. But these "buns" are still not enough. Otherwise, there was no dilemma. Egypt has recently become much cheaper, even despite the rise in price of the dollar.

Yes, Slav1, almost everything is true, but still I disagree about the Dead Sea - in Israel it is much better ... and even saltier. We were both there and there - in Jordan we sat in the water for 40 minutes - and nothing, (there weren’t even salt crystals, the bottom was like a stove), and in Israel after 10 minutes everything pinched and the whole group was sent to the shower ...

In November 2015, we took an excursion to Petra from Larissa orbittours.ru for 205 dollars. You can write to her. Details of our trip here http://www.turpravda.com/eg/sharm_el_sheyh/blog-154977.html

Larisa can be trusted, she helped us too.

Oh, already 205 c.u. My journey is getting more and more profitable))
Iren48, thank you, I read your review, I am more and more convinced that a gallop tour of Europe
аватар Iren48
Slav1, gallop - my normal state :)))) My impression is that we just didn't have enough time. But Jordan did not seem to me a place where I would like to stay. However, this is purely a personal feeling.

We were in Jordan for 10 days in 2013 and we didn't have enough, so to each his own. My opinion - if you want to see everything without haste - then you need to go directly :)

Was in 2013 with an excursion from Eilat. Not very expensive. But you won’t be able to see all of Petra even in two days. Very large area, if you move only on foot. We took donkeys and galloped along the Petrotropes. I advise, speeds up the review process and makes it not so tedious. Our bus guide also led this "cavalry" brigade behind him. It's funny, almost like in a Gaidai film. I never thought that frail-looking donkeys would turn out to be such frostbitten SUVs. At least we saw and visited 10 times more places in Petra than our infantry lagged behind in the heat and dust. And they got out of the canyon in a completely different place, burying such a beautiful Jordanian legend about the siege of Petra by the Roman legion with supposedly the only entrance to the city through a narrow gorge. In general, you will see for yourself. And Jordan is not cheap, judging by the prices in Aqaba ...
