If you choose the sea, then I vote for Faraana with everything possible !!!! This is a gorgeous sea to the reef and an excellent reef.

In other bars it is much better, but the problem of water is sometimes relevant for tea and coffee in restaurants. But if you have a strong stomach, then everything will be fine. In Faraan, the reef is excellent, the entrance is both sand and pontoon! The bar near the lighthouse made excellent coffee and cappuccino, were a year ago. Alcohol is bad, food is more or less. In our company there were no problems with stomachs, although they drank water on the beach.

Farana is a cool sea, but the food and drinks are not up to par. Many people complain about this. A grand oasis with food and drinks a little better, but the sea is not like that. Both hotels are protected from the winds, but in the fanar in winter after 15-30 there is nothing to do on the beach, the sun hides. Pharaoh is closer to civilization and more choice of places where you can walk. The oasis is only soho, everything else is only accessible by taxi.

Faran has a gorgeous sea. But in order to see the beauty, you need to go to the right to the wooden pantone and from it swim again to the right (we are facing the sea). The shallow water in front of the beach is also interesting at high tide. The hotel is dead. The rooms are terrible. The food at first glance is normal, but my husband and I went to bed for two days with a temperature under 40, vomiting and diarrhea. Neither before nor after in Egypt were poisoned (were there 15 times).
