Very interested in adequate first-hand information about Egypt today
We are planning a trip to Sharm for the New Year with 2 children, all the information about Egypt is in fragments, I really want to hear the real situation at the airport and resorts from people who have just returned from there or are still there. Please write to help me make the right decision!

Despite daily, seasonal and annual questions about the situation in Egypt, all seats on flights to Hurghada and Sharm are completely filled. Since no one has yet confirmed even the slightest danger to tourists.
Such nervousness can only be in people who have never been to Egypt on vacation.
Special thanks to the media for far-fetched reports - ticket prices are getting obscenely cheaper)

We returned from Hurghada on 12/08/2012. In the resort areas, everything is very calm. I went with my daughter, took sea excursions, walked outside the hotel almost every evening. Egypt, which is shown on Channel 1, and Egypt, in which we were, are two different countries;) By the way, many tourists take excursions even to Cairo (they ordered with me), To Luxor, everyone who has not been there yet. Have a nice rest.

I agree with the statements, there is no influence on the resort areas from the political situation, one thing is good vouchers are really cheap. many tourists come here who did not plan a vacation, but decided due to the low price of the tour)))))

Discusses anything. This is the real situation. If there is no mention of the "real situation at the airport", then this means that it did not impress the writers.

Read the reviews and you will be happy.
And decisions should be made by you. Is it really possible to rely on unfamiliar, virtual people in decisions?

During the rebellion against Mubarak (they only made life worse), there were pogroms even in Hurghada. Gangs of marauders robbed houses and shops, it was very dangerous. The hotels had enhanced security, which is why it worked out fine + many hotels are far from urban districts.
Now the situation is completely controlled by the authorities, so the risks are low. If you are in the hotel, then everything will be fine. Do not wander around thoughtlessly and do not communicate unnecessarily with the Arabs outside the hotel. Crime exists even in the developed calm countries of Europe.

We returned two weeks ago from Sharm, happy, a lot of impressions. Although, upon arrival, we saw the stunned eyes of relatives, because in Kyiv they showed God knows what on television, in Cairo terrible things are happening. And we saw the maximum that we saw in Cairo - the military, a burned-out building, and the military accompanying us. Our guide said that now maximum efforts are aimed at the safety of tourists, that they take care of us, since we bring them money))) In Sharm, everything is sooo calm in general. Only once, when we were driving from the Old City, there was a demonstration. Airport - we attack only tourists)))) 10 planes a day arrive. In general, it's up to you, of course.

Altus, why did you get the idea about "pogroms"? Where did you see this? You weren't there, so don't write scarecrows. And what does "even in Hurghada" mean? You are there, in general There was no special protection at the hotels, do not compose. Where to get it and who would pay for it?
do not frighten the people in vain by the danger of leaving the hotel and communicating with the Arabs. If you are afraid of them, then why bother dragging yourself there?

Returned from Sharm 02.12.12. It's been a very quiet two weeks. At the airport - the usual fuss. When 3 planes from Russia and 1 from Ukraine arrive at the same time, long queues line up at passport control. Egyptian border guards work quickly, but you have to stand for 30-40 minutes. I went on an excursion to Israel for 2 days (from a local travel agency
$195). Look for a quieter place. 1st day: Jerusalem + Bethlehem, overnight in Bethlehem; 2nd day: drive to northern Israel to Galilee, where Jesus performed 70% of his miracles. Swimming in the Jordan River, Nazareth, Tiberias, Lake Keneret. It is so calm and beautiful there - grace and nothing more. There are simply no words for how good it is. On the way back we stopped at the Dead Sea. The sun had already set and we were bathing in the moonlight, but it was warm! Also very cool. You can see the photo on my TurPravda album "Israel2 days":

We returned on 10.12 from Sharm, in the city EVERYTHING IS QUIET, walked in the evening with my husband without fear and in the area of u200bu200bthe "old market" and "naama bay", not to mention "soho". We decided on a trip to Israel for 1 day, we did not regret it. Perhaps the tourist zone will not be touched, like a goose that lays golden eggs.

At the moment I am in Hurghada, more precisely in Sahl Hasheesh. Everything is calm and quiet, except for the wind. which is still there, but not critical. We swim, we sunbathe, we have fun.
