Should you go to Cairo?
Please tell me, who knows or who has recently arrived from Sharm, what is the situation in Cairo now? For the first time in Egypt, I want to visit the Giza plateau. Is it worth going there?

to be in Egypt and not visit the pyramids is hard to imagine. but after a trip to Cairo you really understand: it was not worth going. the trip is very difficult and not very interesting

It all depends on the mood, the degree of interest and of course the organization. For example, I flew to Sharm for the first time without booking a hotel, bought a ticket for an evening bus to Cairo, didn’t sleep for almost a day, and upon arrival immediately to the pyramids, in the evening I was looking for a hotel in Tahrir for an overnight stay. I slept like a log, and in the morning already in the Cairo Museum until the evening. And a lot of impressions! It's not like spending the entire holiday at the hotel. But to each his own...

when you go to Cairo to look at the pyramids, you expect that you will normally look at the pyramids. But unfortunately, when they drove us, we spent 5 hours longer on the road. Stop for about 1 hour in a cafe-shop (the viper is terrible). Then we were taken to the museum, the museum itself is super, but the guide took us to completely uninteresting exhibits (essential oils, papyri) and only 40 minutes. Then there was a surprise that without fail a walk along the Nile on a smelly boat for $ 10 per person (3-5min). Then we were taken to the dump, that is, to the "restaurant" on the Nile, the waiter was in lichen and poured the unfinished food from the plates right in front of our eyes into the dishes on the table, such a "food cycle". The guide, of course, did not eat anything in this "restaurant", only drank some water from a bottle (1 hour). Then we were taken to the papyrus shop (1 hour). Then finally the pyramids 15min. !!!! We didn’t even have time to leave the bus! Then again for 1.5 hours to the store of chemical essential oils. The road to charm, stop at the gas station, where there is a normal store. Road at night to sharm. BUT even after all this, I think that you should definitely go to Cairo, at least in order to see the real Egypt and look at the pyramids with at least one eye!

I wouldn’t go now - let them calm down completely, then you need to go;)

this could take years.

Maybe, but safety is paramount! Pyramids have been standing for millennia and will still stand;)

according to this logic, you should not go to Asia at all - for tsunamis, earthquakes and full of volcanoes. catastrophe could happen at any moment
I love to live by the principle - "who is destined to burn, he will not drown..."

I agree, but "God protects the safe";)
I just expressed my opinion, and the TS will decide what to do :)

I don't argue. but having the experience of countries in the Middle East, it is not a fact that everything will soon settle down there.
the pyramids may still stand for a thousand years. but, alas, or fortunately, I won’t live so much ...
