I would advise the plane to visit Cairo_ for me, traveling by bus is very tiring.
Even from Sharm you can visit Israel, Jordan, you can visit Mount Moses.

We went last year in August. Departure at 2 am was, and at 7 am already on the pyramids.

You can see the pyramids without any problems when flying on vacation. Charter pilots almost always fly over Cairo and tell passengers which side to look at (I think the best option)
аватар elenako
rara74 in his repertoire. There is nothing to see except the sea.
I, too, have never been to the pyramids - I consider it unjustified to get to the object and examine it for 40-45 minutes.
Trips to Luxor and Aswan were enough for me.
But there are fans of such trips - buses are filled regularly.

elenako, I think it’s not objective to express my opinion without seeing the "object" =). Luxor, I do not argue, is also super. But remember that in addition to the pyramids, the tour includes a visit to the Egyptian National Museum. If you take into account two of these objects, I think it’s worth a ride ... and as already mentioned above, you can do it on an airplane (sorry for the bad Russian)

admiraltour, if you notice, I am not against visiting historical sites, I am a fan of them.
I am against such a tour organization - 7-10 hours on the road and 40-45 minutes for inspection, and everything needs to be done quickly.
So it was with our trip to Aswan - 7 hours on the road and 15!!! minutes to inspect the dam itself.

it was because of these "40-45 minutes" that I went to Cairo myself. Regular buses from Sharm take 6 hours. Anytime. any comfort. any ticket price. and saw enough of the pyramids. and went to other places in cairo. and to alexandria for one! We were in Cairo for three days and didn't see everything.

elenako, the road is long, no doubt, I think that the pyramids are worth seeing, even 40 minutes, for example, this time was enough for me, since it was very hot (which is not strange) and it was not realistic to spend more time without air conditioning in the bus.

Not worth the pyramid of that time and money

The pyramids are definitely worth a visit. And my husband and I did it, but the trip is very tiring from Sharm 7 hours one way. Definitely better to do it by plane, more expensive, but much easier. And it’s too hot in summer, for example, I went to Luxor from Hurghada in February and the road was much easier and the hike itself.

I went from Hurghada, I have a lot of impressions, guys, you are discussing here 40 minutes in the area of u200bu200bthe pyramids (!) That was enough to see the Sphinx, all the pyramids and pyramids, take pictures everywhere. By the way, the Cairo Museum is very cool, despite the fact that almost everyone is running (at this pace we spent more than an hour, hence the conclusion - Egypt is historical - it is a must see, although the Cairo Museum deserves more time and attention, wonderful exhibits

Hello.
I was in Egypt in April 2009. I went to Cairo to see the pyramids, I really, really liked it. Now I’ll say what I think is obvious. Some people find it interesting, some don’t. I’m not interested in a lot. Personally, I didn’t have 40 minutes to look at everything carefully, and my mother said I don’t want to look at these stones. So to each his own. I’m sure there are people who would not go there even if they were paid 50 dollars. Since you are asking the question whether to go or not, it seems to me that you should not go. If I offended you, sorry, but my opinion is this. If you still decide to visit the pyramids, I advise you to watch the film "Mysteries of Ancient Egypt" to understand what you are going to watch and see what to pay attention to.
Have a nice time.

the whole excursion with the round trip will take you a day

---Personally, 40 minutes was not enough for me to look at everything carefully,---
For me, this is the main thing - to see everything without haste, with feeling, with sense, with the arrangement.

maxa07, from Sharm to Cairo 500 km, departure at night, with stops everything will take at least 6-7 hours. The option of a plane to Cairo is the best, but not everyone can afford it, because the pleasure is not cheap. You can still do it yourself on a regular bus, as you have already been told here. And so the list of excursions from Sharm is large and everyone finds for himself what he needs, but someone needs nothing but the sea, that's good too :)

In addition to the pyramids in Giza, there is also Saqqara, Dahshur...
Definitely for this you need an independent sortie, and not with a tour. group. IMHO, to stay in Giza for 40 minutes and an hour in the Cairo Museum and it's all for a lot of money and spend 12 hours on the road - you have to be crazy))))) let group tourists forgive me))))
Threat, even to inspect the pyramids in Giza alone, you need at least 2 hours.

And why are you so unequivocally sure that on group tours only 1 hour in the Cairo Museum and 40 minutes in Giza? We went in December, it was not hot, and we stayed in the museum for about 2.5-3 hours, in Giza for about 2 hours, and there was also a 40-minute walk along the Nile, as well as lunch, visiting papyrus and oil shops, and everything in a day have time!

I also want to say that a trip to Cairo is very dependent on a guide who will be with you all day in Cairo! We were in Cairo in June 2010 and left almost completely satisfied! Our guide was wonderful, very interested in his work and, oddly enough, so that we (tourists) could see as much as possible, I don’t remember exactly his name, he was a guide with our president during his visit to the National Museum. Therefore, we lucky, and so many say that they are left almost to themselves!

I am unequivocally sure that you have seen a meager part of the very pyramids of Giza and the museum. I’m generally silent about Cairo, you haven’t seen it at all ...
And I don’t see the point in spending about $ 70 on such a trip.
Although to each his own...
