Choose another hotel

Travel time: 4 — 11 april 2010
We returned from the hotel 3 days ago. Traveled with a 12 year old. If we evaluate the hotel on a scale of 10 points, then in our opinion, it can be given no more than 5 points. And now, argued, in order:
1. Reception and accommodation. The reception itself is not very beautiful, there are few places to sit and relax. Upon arrival, we could not even sit down at a table to fill out questionnaires, we wrote near the staff desk. We arrived at the hotel at about 17:00 and the check-in went quickly. We got a sea view room - 2221, it's somewhere closer to the beach. And our friends were given a room above the amphitheater - practically at the entrance to the hotel (and this despite the $ 10 invested in the passport). It was always noisy there - both from animation programs and from crowds in front of the main building. A lot of effort was made to try to exchange the number - but all without result. When registering at the reception, all Italians wear a yellow bracelet on their arm, and guests from all other countries wear red and blue ones. And this is already beginning to manifest discrimination of all tourists "non-Italians".
2. Staff attitude. When we checked in, we immediately encountered a problem - the safe in our room was closed. I immediately told the reception about this, but they answered me that they would take care of the safe only tomorrow and only in our presence (although we could not put anything in the safe). The time for the arrival of the safe master was assigned to us 5 times - and each time we came to the room and waited, waited, waited... This continued until the third day of our stay at the hotel. All three days we carried documents and money with us. On the third day, I demanded a senior manager at the reception, after a long wait, he came out to me and, without any respect, told me to be quiet and that the problem was in the safe's battery, which had run out. But when the master came to the room, he could only open the safe, but it turned out to be not working. Only after my appeal with tears in my eyes to the manager of the TEZ-tour and after filling out a plaintive questionnaire, the safe in our room was taken seriously. The master had to change the safe in the room twice until they found a working safe and fixed it with us. This epic lasted three days, during which I was told that non-working safes in the hotel are a common occurrence.

3. Restaurant. I really liked the menu. The chef is Italian. For breakfast - a gentleman's set. Lunches and dinners are very varied. Perhaps the restaurant is one of the two pluses of the hotel. But only in relation to the quality and variety of dishes. The interior of the restaurant leaves much to be desired. We are not picky tourists, but the tables and chairs are very old, there were wobbly and falling chairs, skewed tables. For dinner and lunch, they were allowed into the restaurant in turn - as tables were vacated. But it was possible to pick up the time not "peak" and go to the restaurant freely. Next to the main restaurant in the building is an Italian restaurant (not a la carte). The dishes there are almost the same as in the main and the interior is the same. Waiters in restaurants - as elsewhere in Egypt (they will smile, practice a few Russian phrases with you, do not get bored, do not become impudent). The Egyptian a la carte restaurant on the beach (free visit - 1 time per vacation) does not represent anything interesting. The menu is weak (to put it mildly), when they ordered vodka for the second time - they said that it was not there - it was over.
4. Bars. All bars prepare natural coffee: espresso, cappuccino, americano. This is a plus. There are always queues at the bar on the beach and near the main pool - only one bartender works, the service is very slow. There is no "signature" cocktail or "cocktail of the day". At the bar at the reception, I asked to make a milkshake for the child - the bartender refused me, said that he only does what is written on the bar map (and there are 6 types of alcoholic and three types of non-alcoholic cocktails). The hotel's presentation sheet, which we were given upon check-in, indicated that the beach bar was open until 22:00, and the pool bars until sunset. There was nothing like it! The bars on the beach and near the pools closed at 17 o'clock (this despite the fact that the sun was setting somewhere at 19 o'clock). Only the reception bar remained open for the evening. Can you imagine the number of people who want to visit it!! ! Juices from packages were poured only in a bar near the main pool and only two days. Then only tomato juice remained, the rest for some reason disappeared somewhere.
5. Water. Bottled water is not provided at the hotel. Coolers are placed in the corridors of the buildings, and each room has a decanter. This decanter is filled with water.
6. Sea and pools. The sea is the second of the advantages of the hotel. There is enough space for everyone on the beach - it consists of four levels. Each of them is good in its own way. You can enter the sea both from the shore and from the pontoon. But you can’t swim from the shore - you can walk along the corals, look. Hotel pontoon - type-setting, sectional, in working order. The reef is beautiful and big. Fish are very different. If you enter the sea at 6 in the morning, you can see interesting ones. Minus the beach and pools - few showers with fresh water. On 4 beaches - there are only two of them. The large main pool has only one. There are no foot washes at all. Tables and sun loungers on the beach and by the pools are plastic. The tables have never been wiped, the sticky layer on some of them can be confused with paint. Many of the umbrellas by the pools are broken or torn. One could not pay attention to this, but you have to move umbrellas after the sun - and this is not an easy task. The hotel staff does not take care of the cleanliness. Almost no one cleans the glasses during the day. When we are 2 families, i. e. 6 people took something to drink, then in a couple of hours there were enough glasses near us and no one ever took them away!

7. In the presentation sheet of the hotel, the presence of an Internet cafe was declared. But during our entire stay at the hotel, we did not find it! Although the children were very eager to sit at the computers. It turned out that an Internet cafe is understood as issuing at the reception for an extra charge. laptop board and Wi-Fi account cards with it. We saw how our brothers Slavs took this service, but after activating the card it immediately failed. Because of this, there were many conflicts at the reception.
8. Numbers. All hotel rooms are spacious. The cleaners did a good job. No complaints were heard from anyone about this.
9. Animation. This is a special case. Animation is designed only for Italians! Although there are 2 Russian girls in the animation team, they do not make the weather, they are very modest and quiet. We got the impression that the animators do not know any language other than Italian! The Italian guys are trying very hard to entertain tourists, but only THEIR! Even the evening show programs are divided according to nationality: in the main amphitheater, Italians perform exclusively in Italian (they don’t even use English! ), and in the black amphitheater, animators try to entertain guests from all other countries (and this is not only our former USSR) non-Italians.
SUMMARY: We have previously been in hotels where we want to return again. We will never return to this hotel and will not recommend it to anyone. In the summer we rested at the Grand Hotel Sharm (this is three hotels from Sunrise, in the same bay), the hotel is much better!
