About trips to Israel!
Who was tell me how it goes? How long does the road take? How much do you spend directly on the Dead Sea? What is included in the price of the tour? How much extra money do you need to take with you?

We went to Israel at the end of January 2011 from Sharm with the local travel agency All Sharm, we agreed on an excursion in advance, back in Ukraine, on the appointed day at about 9 pm a bus drove up to the hotel for us, we stopped at several more hotels for tourists, the road goes along desert, somewhere at 12 at night we were in Taba, we went through passport control on foot, there was a queue at the border with Israel, so we stood for about 2 hours. After crossing the border, a very comfortable bus was waiting for us in Israel. The first stop was at about 6 am for breakfast, and here our dry sausage in the form of sandwiches, which was saved from our homeland, oh, how useful it was for us !!! (the envious glances of compatriots choking on dry rations taken in hotels were noticed!) Further, somewhere around 8 in the morning we were in Jerusalem. The program included visiting the Wailing Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the old city, moving to Bethlehem and visiting the Church of the Nativity, lunch there. In Bethlehem, they bought two very beautiful icons, each for 70 dollars. We arrived at the Dead Sea at about 4 o'clock, stayed there for about an hour, despite the month of January, everyone swam, the water is warm. This ended the tour and at about 23 o'clock we were at our hotel "Stella" in Sharm!

thanks for the detailed information! I understand you had a two-day excursion?

Such an excursion is not a two-day, but a little more than a day. Pretty tiring, but if you've never been to the Holy Land, it's worth it.

Normal program, Nadia. For the first time, it is quite suitable and quite inexpensive. Just correct, in Bethlehem the Church of the Nativity, and in Jerusalem the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

And for the Dead Sea, one hour is enough. There is nothing else to do there, but for the general development, to see what it is all about, very much even nothing.

90c.u. the excursion is not worth it, especially from Sharm. We were driving from Taba, the cost was 140 USD (in the price list 160) we left at 23.30. A bus with tourists from Sharm called for us, they left at 20.00. Excursion from TezTour.
You pass the border for at least 3 hours. There were cases of crossing the border in 6 hours.
The program is the same as indicated by nadin65. Only a few amendments. At lunch they gave water, and even on the Dead Sea they gave rations (but it rather depends on the tour operator), you come to the Dead Sea after everything, i.e. at the end of the day. The last time we got there for about 5-6 hours. There were later. Showers on the beach are free.
In general, it is worth a trip, but only from Taba, so that it is not so tiring. From Taba to the border 20-30 minutes.

We traveled from Sharm on December 20th. The tour was sold for
65 USD (but we went 6 people). The road is hard. Couldn't sleep at all. We arrived at the border around 12 midnight, but we sat on the bus for some time. Then they stood in line for at least 2 hours, and maybe more. Breakfast eaten at the border while waiting
(took dry rations at the hotel). By the way, take water with you, it was not given to us anywhere in Israel for free. We arrived at the Dead Sea at about 8 am (Thank God, not earlier, otherwise it would be very difficult to undress, because it was very cool). At the Dead Sea we were given 1.5 hours, but in fact we
were there for at least 2 hours. Immediately they began to advertise dirt and special soap without which
as if it is not possible to wash off the salt and the skin will bake. But all this is nonsense. After the sea, we just rinsed in a warm shower and the skin was very soft and at the same time a pleasant feeling. We arrived in Jerusalem around noon. In Bethlehem, we were very tasty fed lunch in an Arabic cafe (buffet). Then we again returned to Jerusalem to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Wailing Wall.

I just want to warn you. Be careful, because very easy to get lost (especially in the old town). The group is moving fast. Some people lag behind the group on purpose (it is clear they have some well-established schemes), so the guides do not take the lost ones seriously. We have 2 people lost at the very end, after the Wailing Wall. As other guides told us later, they were looking for us, but they never found us. We left without them. I don't even know how they got back. The road back seemed easier. There were fewer people at the border. We were brought to the tel at 2 am.

We drove from Sharm. The cost of the tour (they took it from an agency in the Old City) is 80-90 bucks (I don’t remember exactly; the agency wanted 100, but you need to bargain powerfully; 160 or more - this is what the tour operators at the hotel ask for - don’t be fooled). At the border crossing stood in line for 2 hours. Take more water with you, because in Egypt at a gas station to buy Sprite for 9 shekels (3 bucks) at a gas station, I think it’s expensive, but I had to. Take a warm jacket (for example, from a tracksuit) - the buses are quite fresh, if not cold, the drivers turn on the air conditioner so much. I couldn't sleep on the bus. At the Dead Sea (we were at 7 in the morning) soap for 10 bucks a piece - do not take it - a divorce - we got up in the shower and that's it. Important! Follow the guide in Jerusalem in the Old City - no one is really waiting or looking for those who are behind! Candles (to burn in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher take from merchants on the street - high-quality wax (smell of honey), and not where the guide indicates - paraffin and twice as expensive.
We dined in Bethlehem - a good lunch. The guide brings them to the shop for pilgrims, but EVERYTHING is 2-3 times more expensive than anywhere else in the shops along the way (it has a rollback there).
This tour is 110% worth going.
A bit tedious, but worth it.

3 bucks is 0.33 Sprite - what's the deal??!
