I work in a hotel. It is highly desirable that men come to dinner with closed knees (breeches-jeans-trousers), shoulders (at least a T-shirt). with shoes it's okay ... but again, preferably NOT in flip flops. with women it is easier, but not to the point of absurdity ... for breakfast and lunch, bathing suits and completely unbuttoned shirts are unacceptable.
