The rooms are different. Some are tight and some are bigger. I would pay extra for a room on the 2nd floor in the shape of the letter "G" with a cozy balcony. but within reason. The reef is interesting.

Yes, the rooms are old, but we really liked the fact that these are not multi-storey buildings, but bungalows.
For the best room, I personally would not pay extra.
We were there in 2015 and the food was good.
Very beautiful reef with this hotel.
Nearby there is Soho, where you can have a good evening.
