In which building should I ask to be settled? How much will it cost at the reception?
We are flying to this hotel on August 29, I would like to be given a good room (in terms of location), preferably near the pools and closer to the sea, ideal - also with a sea view))))

Upon arrival, give $10 at the reception (this is enough), and they will give you a nice room with a view of the sea, the pool (s) and everything else. If, of course, you need the most luxurious, some special room, $10 can be not enough. It is better to immediately tell the reception what kind of room you need, and pay. Happy holidays! Oh, how I kindly envy you!

It turns out, depending on how lucky the receptionist is. I went to the same hotel twice. 1 duplex was given, even without dollars in the passport. The second time they took 20 dollars. in the passport and gave a regular number, for a duplex they offered to pay extra 70 euros. Although the hotel was empty. Here you go guess.
аватар Elly79
Wouldn't $10 be enough? Olya 777: Have you had a rest there recently? did you do the same as described above? It’s just that we don’t even need to have some kind of chic room, the main thing for us is to be closer to the sea and pools, and not on the very edge of “being”)))))
аватар Olya_777
We are lucky so far. I think half the people don't pay for the room at all. Well, yes, we always do that. And really nothing to complain about! And you see for yourself.

If you want closer to the sea and to the pools, then this is the 2nd building. We (two families) gave $ 40 each and they gave us rooms almost nearby (2110 and 2117). Although the first time we lived in the 4th building, too normal, but the second one is better both in terms of location and condition of the furniture in it.
аватар Elly79
And I already understood that the 2nd building is an ideal option. We will, of course, try. Did you put 40 dollars in your passport or did you give it directly to your hands? I already think they’ll bring them Tula gingerbread and vodka - maybe they’ll give a luxury in general))))) How do they like it, don’t know ???????
аватар Polina200075
They put the money in the passport, you don’t need to give it in your hands. And immediately say that you need a second building - there are always places there for money. And they love dollars much more than gingerbread.
аватар Elly79
Polina200075, thanks for the clarification. But you don’t know, well, maybe you talked with others how much they need to give the minimum, otherwise it will be a shame - if we pay money and to no avail. Is $20 enough for two?
аватар Polina200075
Try it for 20, it might work out. But I forgot to say that the first time (December 2008), we booked a room with a garden view. We gave $ 40 and lived in the fourth building with a sea view. And the second time (July 2009) we booked a room with a sea view, and the money was already given for the second building. So if you have a garden view booked (you did not write about it), then you are unlikely to be given a second building. But it's worth a try - maybe you'll get lucky. If you have any more questions, please ask.
аватар Elly79
So, in my opinion, no view is blocked from us - neither the sea nor the garden. It just says it's a standard room. Or maybe I don't understand something.
аватар Polina200075
Standard sea view-sea view, Standard garden view-view of the garden.
аватар Elly79
We have written simply in the contract - DBL Standard. In my opinion, for the "sea view" you have to pay extra, we did not. I don't know about garden view.
аватар Polina200075
I looked at the voucher - in the Room type column it says Sea View. I don’t know if the view from the room can not be indicated, but we rested in different hotels and the view from the room is always negotiated in advance and indicated in the voucher. And you have to pay extra for a sea view, but the amount is not big - the difference was about 100 dollars.
аватар Elly79
Well, 100 dollars is also money, for us when buying a ticket it was unacceptable. We don't have a voucher yet.
аватар Polina200075
Then do not bother about the number - the main thing is that the number does not start with the number 6 or 7.
аватар Elly79
Thank you, and still really do not want the 1st floor. We will try and smile at the reception in all 32 teeth))))))
аватар Polina200075
On the contrary, we like the first floor - the most important thing is that you can go to the room through the balcony. This is especially good in July - you don’t have to climb the stairs and go around the building to get into the room. I went out onto the balcony - on one side there is a bar, on the other the pool , at the bottom of the sea-BEAUTY! I can't wait for December, so I want to go to Egypt.
аватар natali28
They didn't give money. But according to conversations, some even gave $ 100. Do you need it? Think about 100m a day, you will walk more, you will be healthier! and silence in remote buildings!
аватар Polina200075
It’s a personal matter for everyone to give money or not. We always and everywhere leave tips - in bars, restaurants, for cleaning, etc. And when we give money for a room, we get what we want. And the attitude towards us is appropriate everywhere. acts as he sees fit.

My advice: do not rush to give money until you are settled. Personally, I never gave, but settled in the best rooms. Once even in a 5-star room instead of a paid 4-star.
Let them settle first. Sleep one night, you will understand whether it is necessary to move. If necessary, ask at the reception. You may not have to pay at all.
Regarding the view of the pool: I personally try to stay away from it: loud animation all day long. And I love silence.
Regarding the sea view: last year they settled right next to the sea. So the first 2 nights it was hard to fall asleep: the wind whistled so strongly in the palm trees, and the sea was noisy.
So, do not rush to immediately give money for no one knows what :)

Hello! Just got back from vacation yesterday! I will tell you in detail about my impressions in the review, but about the settlement I will say the following:
As soon as we arrived, we were given a number starting with 6. Having read a bunch of reviews before leaving, I realized that this was not an option for us and said that the number needed to be changed. As a result, we agreed with one of the servants (not even the one behind the reception). They promised him 20 bucks and a Tula gingerbread. They also offered vodka, but he refused - Ramadan. We asked him to give us a room closer to the pool and the sea. As a result, we got a room in building 7/13 No. 7133. There were no more places, as we were told, but we were satisfied with that. At first, from the pools, we had to climb uphill to our building, but then over time we found a route along a straight road and got into the room without any strain.

YES-aah...
Why only $20?
Would give 50 immediately :)
so that next time they know: if the Russians come, then they must immediately demand 50 dollars (or better, 100), otherwise they will be put in a closet with rats!
You corrupted the staff...
everyone is still boasting: they say, we are so smart: we gave 20 bucks and lived like people... And the rest who settled with us are FUCKERS! This is the joy of life!
And what about the money? We don't care about money! Just to get rid of the neighbors!
And then you ask: why is it that the staff does not respect us? Do you think that if they are Arabs, then they are more stupid than us?
Interestingly, in Europe you also give 20 bucks to be put in the wrong room that you paid for?
My post is nothing personal.
I am trying to show that if we do not respect ourselves, then others will not respect them all the more.
аватар Elly79
To be honest, I didn’t really understand from your monologue - what is this disrespect all about? We did not want to live in the place where we were settled for the first time, this option did not suit us. And others, perhaps, would have been given such a number and it would have turned out just right for them. What is boasting - is also unclear. You better tell me what is not being done for money now? Yes all! And do not talk about Russians as if they were cattle. You are probably not an Arab either. And the Italians, so that you know, in general, the staff is constantly stuffed with tips, and those, in turn, are almost lying in their legs, they themselves bring towels to the sunbeds and lay them. Well then, are you talking about Italians, Germans, etc.? didn't say a word? And what does it have to do with neighbors. Yes, the main thing for me is where I live, and the neighbors are generally on my side. Everyone is looking for suitable conditions for themselves. That's the whole conversation!

but still alexfabr19 is right! the Arabs themselves say that it was the Slavs who spoiled them by poking dollars. and they are happy to try, why will they give out "for so" rooms "with a view of the sea", if you can earn money? but with the Germans and Italians, such numbers do not work! those conflicts are immediately resolved by raising high!
аватар alexfabr19
Ellie, I'm certainly not an Arab. Italians tip, that's right, I tip too. Italians stuff FOR ALREADY RENDERED services, or for services that are not included in the mandatory service. For example, you can go to the bar, order tea, then take it to your table. Or maybe the waiter does it so that you do not stand in line at the bar and do not drag tea through the entire bar and hall to the place where you are sitting. Well, the Italians and others tip just for that. It is clear that after the tip, the waiter will come up to you every 10 minutes and ask if you need anything else? I also tip for this. In addition, the Italians give 1-2 pounds, not 10-20 dollars. By the way, in the instructions of tour operators (for example, Pegasus) it is directly written: it is customary to tip for services. Better often, but little by little. For example, a waiter and a cleaner - 1 pound each.

By the way, a week ago I returned from Hurghada, Arabella Azur hotel. As always, he did not give money when settling. And as always, I got a room in the best building, on the 2nd floor, next to the lagoon and the restaurant, overlooking the sea. Although the voucher was written Standard. The Germans who settled with us had a view of the pool. They were placed overlooking the pool. Walked 15 minutes to the restaurant. This I mean that do not give money right away, do not move until you have lived a day.
