Travelers planning to stay only in the territory (the coast from Sharm el-Sheikh to Taba, including the monastery of Santa Catarina and Mount Moses), upon arrival at Sharm el-Sheikh airport, can receive a free visa for 15 days - in this case, in the passport a tourist visa stamp is not pasted, but an entry stamp (Sinai stamp) is affixed.
Recently, cases of refusal to issue a Sinai stamp upon arrival in Sharm el-Sheikh to Russian citizens have become more frequent. Border guards at the airport demand to buy a visa stamp, citing the refusal to affix a free stamp to the fact that citizens of the Russian Federation are required to have a visa, and permission for a free visa does not apply to them. In fact, these requirements and arguments are illegal, and, in the event of such a situation, it is necessary to immediately contact the head ("bikbashi") of the airport border service.
His office is located right behind the booths of border guards, and with an urgent request, you can get to him, accompanied by airport employees. You should calmly and clearly describe the essence of the problem (in English), after which the tourist is usually stamped within a few minutes.

Such visas are issued at the seaport of Nuweiba and at the Taba checkpoint with Israel. It should be borne in mind that when entering Egypt from Israel, a tourist is given only a Sinai stamp.
The Sinai stamp does not give the right to enter the rest of Egypt. Departure towards Cairo (or flight to Cairo and Luxor from the airport of Sharm el-Sheikh) is possible only if you have a pre-issued visa in your passport or a visa stamp received upon arrival.

nadin65, does this work for citizens of all countries?

Tatoo, that's enough, only you get it first, it's not so easy to get it here, they give it to foreigners, but ours have whole fights and stories on the Internet about these Sinai visas.

In my opinion, it's easier to buy a visa, it's not so expensive and it costs - 15 ye and not have extra hemorrhoids.

Good afternoon!!! There is a Sinai visa, and you can get it as many times as you like, upon arrival on April 13, 2011, I and my 2 girlfriends and two more tourists from Russia (after seeing and talking with this young couple who arrived on our own flight, we realized that the three of us are not crazy , there are still people who know that it is not necessary to spend $ 15 on a stamp and decided not to give up, to demand a free visa) they got it after talking with the director of the airport. In total we saved 45 bucks, which is very nice, it's about 3 taxi rides (round trip) from Navka to Naama Bay or to the Old Town or until 1001 nights .........

called the egyptian embassy in moscow, they said clearly and clearly that this visa is issued only in exceptional cases to travelers crossing the border from israel (so don't flatter yourself about the freebie!!)

I have just returned from Egypt (05/08/11). She received a Sinai visa, however, she had a complex and received it on an American passport. An employee came up in line and seemed to know that I had not bought the stamp. He began to prove to me that it was useless to get this visa on a Russian passport, because. I flew alone and there was no support, then I presented an American passport for a visa. Then tourists arrived at our hotel with a Sinai visa and Russian passports. There were 7 of them. They grumbled at customs, but they gave me a visa. The Egyptians SPECIALLY built a new airport for the Russians (according to the guide) so that there would be no precedents with a Sinai visa. They keep us there for cattle, compatriots.
аватар 17Lenok
Yes, guys, they definitely hold us for rednecks, upon arrival all the guides at the airport denied it, and on the parting bus the guide told us, without any negative emotions, that this visa is given to everyone, without exception, as many times as you fit in your passport !! !!!!So don't be afraid to demand, they won't send you back, and there's nothing dumb here, just like they come to us, and we come to them.
аватар nadin65
Today we returned from Sharm, put the Sinai stamp for 15 days without any problems, of course, for free.
In the column, along with the name of the hotel, write ONLY SINAI, on the back of the migration card, also write ONLY SINAI
аватар Perflexer
I was in Sharm in July, came to the control and said Please put Sinai stamp, they put it in, they didn’t even move an eye.
аватар Yuriy64
Thanks everyone for the comments! At the end of June, we went to Sharm, wrote on the card - ONLY SINAI, and passed without any problems! Unfortunately, they don’t hold us for cattle, as they wrote here above, but we ourselves give reason to think so of us .... Upon arrival - in addition to the huge queue for passport control - there was a long queue for migration cards, which are all over the world usually free .... And all because the Arabs did a small business on our mugs, who are too lazy to fill out a card ....
They immediately sold the visa, but not for $15, but for $20, with the condition that they fill out the immigration for you. card .... Because of this, there was also a queue .... Although after that there was enough time to fill everything out, standing on the pass. control .... So, we turn ourselves into idiots .... And the Arabs, by the way, filled out the cards - no more than a minute ....)))
аватар Yuriy64
I forgot to add that there were plenty of those who wanted to pay off not only $ 15 for a visa, but also five more for three squiggles .... That was a shame .... (((
аватар 17Lenok
Well, once again I'm in Egypt, this time, as Yuriy64 wrote, the Arabs hit all the limits of the imagination, gathered a line of Russians who were forced not only to buy a visa, but also to pay an additional 5 bucks on top))))))))))) ) for copying letters from the passport, and at the control, my son and I were only asked where the stamp was. I smiled at them and said that I didn’t need the stamp. we only stay on the Sinai Peninsula, he also smiled and silently stamped both me and my son

At the travel agency, I was warned about the possibility of entering with a Sinai stamp, and my wife and I firmly decided to get it, the only thing that bothered me was my lack of knowledge of the English language. In general, upon arrival (and in Sharm we were married for the first time, before that we only flew to Hurghada ...) we saw a crowd of Russian tourists, whom the Arabs drove into the queue for visas and the absence of declarations in the public domain. They also tried to send us into the crowd. but we just silently moved on to take the declarations, fill them out and go to the border guards. But there were no declarations anywhere, only the Arabs selling visas for 17 dollars had them. After an unsuccessful attempt to ask for 2 declarations from some Arab, I saw several declarations lying under my feet, took three pieces)) and went to the tables to fill. When it was my turn at the border control, I said hello and when I saw that the border guard was looking for a visa in my passport, I told him in English: only Sinai. Everything, smiling, he put a stamp and I left, my wife followed and received a stamp in the same way. This event took place on 09.08.11, and upon departure we calmly closed them and flew to Moscow.

arrived in Sharm on 07/26/11. they knew about the Sinai visa and decided to get it. a local stood at the Pegasus counter and shouted that we first buy a visa, then we approach him and he gives a questionnaire. We came up and said that we want a Sinai visa and we need questionnaires, he twisted his face, said that these would be our problems. we are on the reverse side they wrote ONLY SINAI (in fact, they don’t even look at them) and went to the border. The border guard looked at the passport, asked NO VISA? we said NO. He silently put a stamp and we went

I would like to thank the first person who raised this topic. Still, things have moved on. Although 2 of my acquaintances did not receive a Sinai visa (or shtam, although any entry into the country is a visa) despite my recommendations, I am glad to hear that other tourists receive. It probably depends on the border guard and on ourselves. Next time I will fly only on a Russian passport. By the way, I went on an excursion to Israel on a Sinai visa. No problem. I am writing just in case if someone is going not only to Sharm, but also to Israel.
And in the travel agency they looked at me with big eyes, they didn’t know (or pretended) that you can drive to Sinai for free.

Is it possible to travel to Jordan with a Sinai visa?
We are going to visit Jordan in September, share your experience.
аватар nadin65
Alex1212 - yes you can! It is impossible only to Cairo to the pyramids, Ras Mohammed bus tour,
You can go to Jordan and all other excursions in the Sinai Peninsula!
аватар sveddok
For Alex1212. Personally, I was told that it is possible to go to Israel, but to Jordan - problems may arise. That's why I didn't go to Jordan. I can't say for sure.
аватар Alex1212
When ordering the Israel-Jordan tour, they didn’t tell me anything, although I immediately warned that I would be with a Sinai visa. Okay, time to try other tour operators.
аватар sveddok
Perhaps you are right.
And why are you booking a tour right away? It will be cheaper locally. Moreover, do not rush to book excursions immediately upon arrival, look around. For example, in Thailand, the locals were 3-5 times cheaper than Russian travel agencies. The same is true in Egypt. We paid $180 for a tour package (City, Ras Mahamed, Israel) and the local tour to Israel was $70. You yourself could ride around the city, guides bring you to an expensive shop for shopping for 40 minutes. There is also nothing much to do in Ras Mahamed. And for any local, this tour is cheaper.
аватар Alex1212
We will talk to everyone, and on the spot we will choose with whom. The first 5-7 days we prefer a lazy rest and need to strengthen the tan)))
аватар Alex1212
They received the visa without hindrance9 on September 10) from the side of the border guards, but the Pegasus people grabbed their hands and frightened them with new laws))).
So gentlemen WELCOME TO SINAI.
On excursions I will write as I visit.

Hello everyone! From 5 to 12. 09. 11. rested with his wife in SHESh. Arrived for the first time. Basically, I wanted to get only a Sinai stamp, although $ 15 for each. the case was kept in a pocket. The representative of the tour operator meeting at the airport immediately directed us to the tables where his colleagues "stupidly copied the data from the passport into the questionnaire." I approached and, knowingly, correctly took 2 freely lying questionnaires from the table. It took 3 minutes to fill them out, after which they stood in line for passport control. There were few people in front of the booths. j. all the other arrivals were busy buying visas and filling out questionnaires with the help of tour operators. Two women stood behind us (I mistook them for a mother and daughter), and in some miraculous way, exchanging glances, we realized that they also want to get a Sinai stamp. In a nutshell, we exchanged the information we have on this topic. T. to. the girl had a more in-depth knowledge of English, just in case they let her go ahead. Quietly standing for no more than 5 minutes, we waited for her turn. As a result, she, and then her mother, passed the control and received the coveted stamp in her passport. The same thing was waiting for us!!! Colleagues! No problem! Be confident in your actions and everything will work out for you! I'll post the scan later. Good luck!!!
