Big question on Egypt (careful, a lot of bukuff)
Vacation from November 2 to 17, I choose between Jordan and Egypt. The route is something like this: Cairo + Giza + Saqqara (3 days) - Alexandria (2 days) - Farafra (1 day) - Luxor (1 day) - Aswan (1 day) - Abu Simbel (1 day) - Suez (1 day ) - Shesh (5 days). Maybe somewhere you will advise to redistribute the days? And security issues: is everything okay with the White Desert and the Red Canyon? Is it cold in Sharm in November?

Well, what kind of transport would you recommend for moving between cities? Isn't it dumb to ride buses?
аватар angik007
they will take you there for a foreign spy with such a route, moving without coordinated tour groups I don’t think it’s possible. will consider that you want to join the Igilovites
аватар lazy_person
This is what I understand. A serious journey, perhaps with adventure ...
аватар ollennka
This is just a route through the top 25 attractions from the Internet, what does ISIS have to do with it?)) I am an adequate tourist, and where it would be more reasonable to take a tour, of course, I will take it.
Where are all the gurus of Egypt? There are more subscribers to the question than answers ...
аватар ollennka
Yes, I've asked this question on other forums as well. With the world on a thread.))
It's just that here people go to Egypt 16 times, for sure they will be able to advise something too.
аватар vezha2
The route is interesting.
And if you combine cities (except for SH) into a Nile cruise? I didn’t go myself, but my friends were very pleased with both the service and the excursions on the cruise.
аватар ollennka
vezha2, thanks, I was just thinking about a cruise as a transportation option, but I was not sure that they work.
аватар vezha2
ollennka!
Still, look on the Internet for information on cruises (you can’t give links here - like?). I found several sites that offer interesting programs - I think it will not be difficult for you to find them. Excursions to the pyramids, Alexandria, a museum in Cairo, even a mango plantation
аватар ollennka
Yes, I already have, thanks!

I have previously come across a proposal for cruises on the Nile, though it was a long time ago. Here is a photo I found: in Luxor, these river boats are at the pier. They say the service is normal there.

In the photo, this is a green ship. And one more photo
They go from the lower reaches to the Aswan Dam!

Many thanks to dmitriy_ed, who answered on the merits (albeit in a personal).

Good afternoon, I'm going to Hurghada in mid-November 2019, I will take the most inexpensive tour. my priority excursion is Dendera + Luxor, Cairo ...
аватар ollennka
golovska62, and you won't get sick. I would like, of course, answers to my question, and not other people's plans for the future. But already figs with him, write everything in a row))).

And my "five" kopecks, off topic, but from the heart .... Like a classic .... "And not It's time for Lee, my friends .... WE ...
Swing at ......"
Prepare a serious trip ... I'm glad for you. I'll read a review or a story with pleasure. I think "individuals" on the Vin forum .... more. Good luck. IMHO.
аватар ollennka
I'm still not sure about Egypt, maybe I'll fly to another country as a result. And as for "swinging" - I have already seen half of these places, however, for a long time. It needs to be refreshed. By the way, maybe it will come in handy for someone - based on the results of reading the forum "of the one whose name we do not name," I slightly simplified the route in terms of logistics. Cairo (+ Giza, Saqqara and Ismailia - there is the Suez Canal) 3 days, then by train or bus to Alexandria 2 days, then return to Cairo and excursion to the White Desert for the whole day, then from Cairo by plane to Luxor (+ Dandara) 2 days, from Luxor by cruise or by bus to Aswan (+ Abu Simbel) 2 days, from Aswan by plane to Sharm 5 days). So that rest is relaxation, and not masochism for 7-10 hours in buses.
аватар ollennka
Dandara "peeped" from golovska62))) she was not in the top 25 sights of Egypt.

I don’t consider myself a guru, but I definitely recommend Go Bus buses. Tickets can be booked on their website. And get Elite level tickets. The difference in price is small, but you will get there comfortably, faster (these buses rarely stop at checkpoints) and the contingent of passengers is normal.
Regarding the plane from Aswan to Sharm. There are currently no direct flights. Only through Cairo. The same goes for Luxor. Perhaps tickets will go on sale in September, because. the season will start. Summer is very hot in Upper Egypt.
About the weather in Sharm in November. By the evening it will be cool. The jacket will come in handy. The winds will be in the Nabq area. In the bays of Naama Bay or Sharm el Maya, it is calmer. Pools in hotels are already heated. The sea is somewhere around 25-26 degrees.
P.S. Your route is very interesting)) There is also something to see in Jordan, but it will be many times more expensive, a very expensive country.
аватар ollennka
Thank you cleotours! There will be a jacket, since in Alexandria it’s definitely not summer in November. From Aswan to Sharm, the transfer via Cairo is only 2 hours, quite tolerable.

Ollennka, I read your itinerary with interest ... but it's not clear why you need Charm at the end? if you want to lie down on the beach, corals and the sea after intensive movement-impressions, then there is a Marsa Alam resort very close to Aswan (1.5-2 hours by bus or minibus). Believe me, there corals and fish will be cooler than in Sharm. and in November the sea in the bays is still normal, it does not storm (there is an open sea and strong winds). But in your period it should still be fine. And if you fly from Ukraine to Cairo (immediately), then there are several direct flights from Mars airport to Kyiv, it seems MAY flies, you need to see what's this season. And then you will get rid of the unnecessary return to Cairo ... If you need advice on hotels in Marsa Alam, there is a branch here for these hotels, you can look. But Sharm is still almost "the other end of the world", leave it for the next trip of 10 days, and from there you can go to Jordan for 1-2 at a normal price, and on other excursions ...
аватар NellyK
Yes, by the way, a cruise on the Nile is really more interesting than just a bus or train from Cairo to Aswan ... look at the FB "Russian Service Service in Hurghada", contact the admin - they usually put up their travel plans for a month, but maybe they already know something as of November. Still, it’s better to travel around Egypt with your own, who understand local customs and language, and all the nuances ...

NellyK, That's why I'm asking a question so that the experienced criticize and advise alternatives. I’m saying that I stupidly took the top 25 attractions from the Internet and scattered them over vacation days. I don’t know the difference between Shesh, Hurghada, and other resorts. That is, Marsa Alam is better than Sharma, right? On the map, it looks like a village, that is, there is nothing interesting around, except for corals and fish? Near Sharm there is at least some kind of monastery and a canyon, you can slightly diversify the tavern rest.
I am not from Ukraine, but from Russia, I will fly from Moscow, so I do not rest on direct flights. Through Cairo and Istanbul there are convenient and inexpensive connections. Cruise on the Nile is already in the program, thank you!))
аватар ollennka
Jordan from Egypt, it seems to me, an unfortunate option. Jordan has a lot of interesting things except Petra, it deserves a separate two-week vacation. By the way, is Aqaba also cool and windy in November? After all, she is somewhere near SheShem.
аватар NellyK
Marsa Alam is a resort village :-). there really is nothing but hotels and the airport yet. But a good 4-5 * hotel with infrastructure (and there hotels have EVERYTHING, like in Sharm) you will have enough for a relaxing holiday - believe that you will have so many impressions and adventures from Alexandria to Aswan in a short time that you will stupidly want to lie down a little on the sand ... Marsa Alam is better than Shesh for coral fish. but to go to Shesh for 4-5 days, in order to spend 2 days of them on the canyon and the monastery of St. Catherine, this is super extreme ... You also include climbing Mount Moses in the program (in Shesh), and you can really be called "holy" ;-) It's really physically hard, such "jumps" ... In general, the main attraction of Egypt is the Red Sea corals and tropical fish). In Mars, they are really very beautiful, but in Hurghada they are practically absent near hotels ... well, there are a little bit. And yesterday on TV (in Belarus) we showed that it seems that Egypt is going to restrict the access of tourists to the Pyramids
аватар ollennka
Lord, what are you talking about?))) I'm not 50 years old and I don't work in a mine. 5 days of continuous beaching - you can go crazy. In 15 years, I think the advice will be relevant.
Advise, please, near which hotels there are good corals. They write here that the best hotel is Four Seasons. Are the corals near it also the best?
аватар dmitriy_ed
marsa alam is a cult place for divers. in terms of living creatures and reefs, plus the opportunity to catch a dugong, in the ranking of those who know, it is above charm.
but there is a nuance-marsa alam from tour operators - in real life it is a strip of coast from el quseyra to beneris.
yeah - about 200 kilometers that way ... on which, by the method of a strictly scientific poke, there are still scattered in an open field (sorry! -desert) hotels where with a bay and where without it ... and there is one conditionally town-port khalib there already 5 hotels and a couple nearby.
аватар ollennka
I'm not a diver, I'll go snorkel a couple of times at most. How deep does a dugong swim?
аватар dmitriy_ed
and it is unpredictable - most often you can catch it in Marsa Mubarak Bay. Logistically convenient hotels are Marina Ludge or 4 Corners of Fairows. According to rumors, the Germans will open tartle bay albatross in this bay, but so far it is questionable ...
depth from 5 to 15 meters as the map lies ...
