Find out from the operator with which insurance company he works in this area, contact this insurance company and consult. The agency will answer you only general questions about the insurance package, while the insurance company will already provide you with a full consultation on both the standard program and other possible options for expanding the package. If the simple option does not suit you, you plan to ride the slides in the water park, scuba dive, ride an ATV, etc., then do extended insurance on your own, such things are not included in the standard one.

In 2014, our usual standard insurance covered resuscitation, stent placement and treatment for 6 days. at a clinic in Crete. Last year, the same type of insurance covered not such global expenses, but still - in Bulgaria, a child had rotavirus (the doctor at the hotel put a dropper). In Egypt, God spared us from such troubles, but insurance is always given of the same type, standard - in theory, should cover any illness). Another thing is how doctors in Egypt perceive our insurance - I was a witness when, in a 5-star hotel, a woman with tears in her eyes asked managers to send a doctor to a child of 6 years old, the temperature was under 40 for several days, and she was told that the doctor would be sent to number, the service costs $100. Why???? And what about insurance?

nataliya_tom There are different rules and insurance packages, and that's why I say that everything needs to be found out directly from the insurance company. At the moment, there is almost always a deductible in insurance, this is the amount that you will pay in any case during the initial treatment. The amount of this amount, both from the country and from the insurance company itself, can vary from 30 ... 50 ... 100 dollars or euros, and then insurance coverage begins to operate, after the coverage amount is exhausted, further expenses will be borne by the client himself.
Travel insurance without a franchise is initially more expensive than with a franchise.
There are insurance options when you are first treated at your own expense by notifying the insurer about the problem, and upon returning home, he will compensate you for the costs incurred, subject to their confirmation.
The set of services and conditions of insurance, the list of diseases and their causes can vary greatly.
We, as tourists, can only voice general points here. Only the agent of a particular insurance company will tell all the real information, and then if you pull this information out of him. Insurers always try not to voice all the nuances in order to refuse payment in disputable situations.

We were in Egypt in 2015. The child developed obstructive bronchitis. We called the insurance company, the Egyptian doctor sent a driver, we were taken to the hospital. Medicines, observation, treatment - everything was covered by insurance. I tried to give money to the treating doctor as a thank you - I didn’t take it. Almost offended. While they were in the hospital, they got acquainted with the "insurance" cases. One child had a poisoning, another had an injury. Even with other insurance companies, this was included in the free treatment. But still, it is better to take the necessary medicines with you so as not to lose precious days of rest))) Health to you!

When the grandchildren were small, each time I took out ADDITIONAL insurance. Little money - but more peace of mind)))))

1. Insurance abroad covers urgent cases. For example - a person was poisoned, had a slight diarrhea, vomited a couple of times, without a temperature - insurance will not cover. But if a person is poisoned, "pouring" from everywhere and a high temperature - the insurance will cover.
2. Be sure to carry insurance with you everywhere. Almost always carry money or a phone. Put the insurance in a phone case, wallet or somewhere else, but always carry it with you.
3. Immediately write down the phone numbers of the assisting company - somewhere in large numbers. Since if something happens, they cannot find a phone to call. Also, not the hotel reception always give a call to the assistance for free.
4. Do not go to the doctor yourself. Call assistance immediately. Only if the assistance permits, then contact yourself, while keeping all the directions, receipts, checks, with the signatures of the doctor and the seal, in order to receive a refund in Ukraine

Of course, it is better to discuss such questions on the forum with people whom you have never seen and will not see, than to ask your travel agent or call the insurance company. As an option, finally read the conditions written in the insurance itself in small print. Very accessible and clearly written.

5.IMPORTANT - Check with your company or carefully read the contract - almost always insurance does not cover the return journey to the hotel after treatment. That is, an ambulance will bring to the hospital, cure, and get back to the hotel at your own expense. Consider it

You can't ask the insurance company for all cases. What can happen is unpredictable. I will share cases when I had to use insurance. The first case was in Turkey. VUS insurance. The child bruised his finger, which turned very blue. There was a franchise. Please note that you must notify the insurance company within 24 hours, otherwise the insurance event will not cover. We notified, but decided to observe the day, suddenly just a bruise and the blue will come down. The blue didn't come off. They called the insurance company. The car was sent to us within 15 minutes. They took me to the hospital. They did an x-ray. Turned out to be an infection, not a fracture. They opened a finger, disinfected it, smeared it with an antibiotic and gave a further appointment. They had to buy medicines themselves and apply for compensation at home. The amount was small, but they still applied for compensation to check how it all works. We just sent the documents to the e-mail and the money was credited to us. I recommend insurance.

The second case is in Israel. Insurance NIKO. Case with me. We arrived in a storm, there was a strong wind and it was clear that I caught a cold where it was not necessary. Inflammatory process, gynecology. The insurance company said contact the doctor, pay, then apply for reimbursement. Specify in which cases they are not reimbursed. EVERYTHING was an exception! Absolutely everything that is sexually transmitted, all bacteria, all viruses, fungi, i.e. all causes of such inflammations are not covered by the insurance. Although 90% are infected not through sexual contact, but just because of a cold, hypothermia, etc., bacteria, fungi join. A visit to the doctor turned out to be $ 400, without tests and ultrasound. Those. would cost at least $1,000. I took some medicine without a prescription in a pharmacy, I was treated with it, I didn’t go to the doctor. As a result, the inflammation went further, now I am flying at home. I don't recommend insurance. A similar case was at home once. The insurance covered everything, with all the tests, ultrasounds and medications. Even the initial inspection was not organized here.

Last winter I had a chance to use insurance in Sharm, before that they flew around half the world, thank God, nothing and nowhere, but this time they were young (3 years). In the kindergarten, before the flight, they caught a virus, as a result, already on vacation on the 4th day, the temperature was 40, insurance covered everything, they sent a car for us and took us to the hospital, the doctor immediately determined that the bacterium, put several droppers, put the small one on our feet in 4 hours. In addition, they gave me a package of medicines for free, the next day there was no temperature, there was nothing to speak of, although before that we had been toiling with our medicines for 4 days, nothing helped

I wrote above about our insurance cases. Now I have posted everything in a video with useful tips for tourists https://youtu.be/8Vcon4QsMVM You can see two real cases and how the insurance company worked in one case, and not in the second. Insurance reviews give more insight than any insurance program.
