Better in spring.

So everyone has their own. I was white in Egypt in December and I was not comfortable, I was cold. If this is the only long-awaited vacation, then I would choose either another country (with real summer), or spring, from mid-April, maybe it was in March ... freezing, but after 20 arpel the sea is warm, the pools are warming up. But this is my personal opinion. There are a lot of opinions that December is just as great time for a holiday in Egypt, but the morning and evening are cold, the sea, although the temperature does not fall below 22 degrees (it would seem that the water is warm) ... no ... cool in general. I am generally silent about unheated pools.

Well, December is winter in Egypt) and whether it is worth going or not is only your decision. The winds and the peculiarities of the weather would not stop me. I would choose a hotel in the bay) if you have one vacation a year, and you have long wanted the sea, sun and hard-won comfort, it is probably better to go in the spring.
аватар kkk1204
Quite normal, only hotels in the bay, rested in January and February. Prices with a New Year's hook will be OH, before and after are normal.

You can’t swim unequivocally if there is no heated pool - trouble. Even if there is, you go out and freeze. Another argument - it gets dark early, at 16 o'clock, you can't even swim in the pool, and there is nowhere to put yourself !!!
Drive to Thailand.

Mom, is mine cold? - No, Abrashya, you want to eat! (C)

You will definitely swim, unless you need the sea temperature, like that of horse urine! What is better, to be on vacation when there is slush and abomination in Ukraine, or to swim and sunbathe in Egypt?
With Southeast Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, etc.) it would be nice, but the flight is expensive for a Ukrainian, unlike a Russian, especially for those who live beyond the Urals. It is clear that they are for Southeast Asia, especially since they have a travel ban on Egypt.
And a small question, answer the Russians! Are you really all cold in Egypt in winter, or is it not? For me, winter Egypt is the best time to relax in winter, all the more so just because of the reefs of the Red Sea, I go there. Ancient Egypt (Cairo, Luxor, etc.) was examined on my first trips.

Marianna32! Spring and autumn in Egypt - high season, prices are higher!
Do not take the NABC area in Sharm in winter (there are strong winds and an unpleasant current, for those who swim poorly), and hotels in the bays of Sharm are good for you in winter.

Were at the end of December. I like the fact that you can spend the whole day on the beach, as an option, it is not possible to get burned, and as a result, the tan is better than in summer. The sea is cool, as in Ukraine in June, although this happens in August. Swimming, sunbathing. You can go on excursions, as it is very hot in the season. Prices are much cheaper for everything. A big plus in strawberries and mangoes at $1 per kilo for the New Year!

alex45, correction: the Russians do not have a travel ban to Egypt, there are just no direct flights, so we fly with a transfer. If we usually flew through Istanbul, then in October we fly through Milan, this time it turned out to be cheaper through it. Well, since we haven’t been to Italy yet, we decided to combine business with pleasure and take a walk for 3 days in Milan.

"And a small question, answer the Russians! Are you really all cold in Egypt in winter, or is it not so?"
The question is really stupid, it has been discussed here a hundred times already, everyone has different thermal sensations and preferences, regardless of nationality. I will say for my family: in early November and late March in Egypt, we are comfortable in the sun, and cool in the sea. Therefore, from mid-November until April, we do not go to Egypt, because. the priority is the warm sea.

I am from Ukraine and I am in Egypt during the period from December to the second half of April. During this period I go to countries with real summer. Here in November we fly with my husband to Thailand - Phuket (direct flight + hotel for breakfast) came out 1128 ye. 12 nights. I bought it in July, now I looked, there are already more than 2000 ye and hotels are terrible ... In July, I chose a high-quality C grade, which is now on the table until April. You just need to take care of your vacation in advance.

It will be warm until December 10, after this lottery, last year it was warm almost until December 20. From personal experience, I flew from Hurghada on December 10, 2010, it was +24, and in the second half of February 2013 it was +30 in the same Hurghada. Conclusion: watch the weather and fly whenever you want.

Hello. I will share my own experience. Both times we were in Sharm in December. In 2016, we flew by fortune, ended up in Regency Plaza Aqua Park & Spa 5 * in the Nabq area. All inclusive system 24 hours a day. Yes, there were winds, but the sea is warm, leaving the sea just throw a towel on and that's it. The air temperature is very comfortable. In December 2017, we were in Naama Bay at the Sonesta Beach Resort & Casino 5 * hotel, the bay is calm, so it was comfortable.
The only negative in the rest in December is a short daylight hours. That's all.
You get great pleasure from the fact that we have snow and frost here, and there is a warm sea and a lot of fish. And both years in a row trips in December were cheap. What will happen this year is unknown. Thank you for your attention

And my husband and I were 6 times in Egypt and only in December. The weather is fine, it's hot during the day, the water in the sea is 23-24 gr. (I always take a water thermometer with me to all countries). And for sure, it is very warming to think that it is cold in our country, and it is hot in Egypt.
аватар alex45
And I am in Egypt only in winter, in summer I will find where to fly (Spain, Italy, the Balkans, etc.). I can't stand water that can't cool off.
That's why I asked the question - Why is it cold for Russians in the Red Sea in winter? I understand about thermal preferences and sensations. But for some reason I read it and it’s cold again, mostly for Russians. So in my thoughts, is it really on the Volga and in Sverdlovsk in the lakes in the summer (and I have been there and swam) they are also not comfortable, like in Egypt in winter!
аватар moy_contakt
alex45, so I also swam at +9, +15 .. etc., both on the Black Sea and in rivers-lakes, as there was no other alternative at that particular moment, but this does not mean that the water in Egypt in winter should seem warm to me. I'm freezing. I was in December and February and in March, April, May, the end of August-September, the beginning of October. Swimming is always and everywhere possible (winter swimming, diving into an ice hole for baptism, this is sacred), but here we are discussing comfort, and how comfortable it is to swim in winter in Egypt. In the pools, the water is icy, in the sea, too, like 22-24, but there is no comfort. In April, we rested in Albatross (it is actively recommended in winter), and so a woman with a 2-year-old child stood by the shore and said that she regretted that they had arrived, the sea was cold for them ... But we were already comfortable. So to each his own.

In December, it is good to relax in Egypt if you are interested in excursions. And if you are flying for a beach holiday, then it is better not in December, and especially not in Hurghada. the wind will be such that you will simply go crazy. Even in the summer, in the heat of 45 degrees, due to the strong wind, we could not rest normally, our ears and head were puffed up so that we simply could not be on the beach for more than an hour. I do not recommend.

we went in January and had a great time, we visited many excursions, we always sunbathed until 16.00, then it was cool, we swam a couple of times. and in February, the heat was ++28+30 and bathed daily. does not fall year after year.
аватар moy_contakt
How many people, so many opinions! The way out is to go and decide for yourself whether this time is suitable for a comfortable stay or not :)
аватар alla.neshcheretnaya
Definitely DO NOT choose Hurghada and everything near it, it will be very windy there, In December, the winds are mostly northern and strong, so even at + 24 it will be really cold, it blows so that it is completely uncomfortable, not only in terms of swimming. Choose Charm, just not the bay of Nabq, it is also very windy in it.

In Hurghada, in Makadi, there is a unique hotel of its kind, Al Nabila Grand Bay 5. Beach in the rocks. Gorgeous sand. Even in winter it is windless. For winter it is better not to think of (:
аватар moy_contakt
PolikSVT, I'm certainly not an expert on Hurghada, but the reviews on your hotel are bad. Yes, and everyone knows the fact that in winter in Hurghada it is colder than in Sharm. Maybe the hotel is "unique" as you put it, but we are not only going to the sea, but also for service.
аватар PolikSVT
moy_contakt, you always choose the lesser of two evils) I would never recommend this hotel in the high season of Hurghada. But when in winter you need a calm sea and the sun, and it is only there with a guarantee, I would agree with myself about the service) Not everything is so bad there, I'm sure.

PolikSVT, I’m just a connoisseur of this hotel, I felt, as they say, in my own skin. I was in November 2017 - HORRIBLE, not a hotel. The pool is not heated, the water in the shower is barely alive, the number of rooms for Ukrainians - to call it tired - just praise. We snatched a room next to the sea, where Europeans are accommodated, at least it’s livelier than other rooms, but this is after persistent requests to the representative of the tour operator to move us to another hotel. And WIND, a terrible wind in the rocks. The hotel is located in the remote part, there is nowhere to go, there is no wi-fi, the television disappeared a hundred times a day, in general, a reservation. But the beach is really a BOMB, they could only use it 3 times in 8 days, the rest of the time there was a terrible COLD wind, which, according to the review, such there are no experts like you in the rocks. By the way, the food was not bad, and the beach was clean.

alla.neshcheretnaya, "the wind, which, according to the review, there are no experts like you in the rocks"
Read carefully. I can’t know about all the “rocks” and beaches there) but that in Nabil there is a beach without wind, yes. I was there in February 2013 and December 2015. When a red flag was hung in neighboring hotels, we were quiet and calm. I don’t know what you “pulled out” there, but in the low windy season it is better to definitely settle in the main building, and not in a bungalow. Yes, and there is definitely nowhere to "go out" in Hurghada and there is no need. For a week it is quite possible not to "go out @" if you came overseas and bask in the sun.
аватар alla.neshcheretnaya
I wrote SPECIFICALLY ABOUT NABIL, read carefully, the news is fresh, and not 2013 or 2015. Bungalows for 2017 are generally closed, only a small part of the hotel works. This small part includes three two-story green houses
, which are within walking distance from the main staircase leading to the beach, by the way, is already the only one, since access to others is limited. Poles, Czechs, and British settle in these houses. The main building, in which tourists from Ukraine are accommodated, is under frozen reconstruction, so one floor is working, and then only the part that is located behind the reception, overlooking the abandoned garden. The number of rooms there is in a terrible state, you can reach the sea only through the hall and the restaurant, other exits are blocked, , WIND, cold wind in those rocks, in NABIL. Just if you are lucky, it does not mean that it does not exist.
I visit Egypt 2 times a year. EXACTLY IN NOVEMBER AND FEBRUARY, because. my husband and I have D.R. in these months, we visit Hurghada more often because we are shallow swimmers. We always visit different hotels, so everything is described from personal experience.
аватар alla.neshcheretnaya
In pursuit, I looked at the 13 and 15 years, 2013, the Hilton Hotel from November 19 to 29, it was very warm and almost calm, in 2015 the Desert Rose Hotel, from November 19 to 30, is also very warm and almost windless, except for the first three days., In general, it was windless in Nabil during these years, as elsewhere, and not because the hotel was in the rocks.

Our family loves to relax in winter in Egypt. December is the most comfortable month for holidays. Take a hotel in Hadaba and everything will be OK! The sea is warm, the sun is pleasant and gentle. Sun cream is not needed. You can enjoy the sea and the sun all day long. And there will be no sensation of "boiled cancer". And in the evening take a walk around the Old Town. Fruit prices are minimal.
