In general, prices are low in winter, off-season, cool.
On NG prices give a sharp jump. That hotel that costs 500 per person will cost 900-1000 dollars
The weather during the day is not bad - about 23-25 degrees, the pools are mostly heated. The people in the sea also try to climb. The water temperature does not fall below 20 *
In the evening, frankly cool jackets, sweaters and jeans. It gets dark early

we go for 7 nights in EGYPT to SHARM EL SHEIKH in December just before the NEW YEAR (we return on December 28-31 happy, rested and tanned!) Prices are 2-3 times cheaper than for the NEW YEAR. Going on vacations always overpay for yourself and "for that guy!" it makes no sense. Hotels are dressed up in New Year's style: palm trees-sun-sea and Christmas trees with SANTA CLAUS in garlands with gifts!!! The New Year is not a holiday for the Egyptians, they don’t know how to organize it and don’t want to ... for a New Year’s dinner, in addition to the ticket FOR 150 USD FROM EACH: at night, under the chiming clock, tables will be set in a restaurant ... (what they didn’t eat for dinner) .. ..SNACKS AND ALCOHOL WILL END INSTANTLY...festive program like animators and belly dance... and...disappointed, go to your room to finish your alcohol from duty free with a jar of treasured caviar and your CHAMPAGNE (if you guess put them in your SUITCASE! from home)
SHARM EL SHEIKH has beautiful corals and coves on the beach, sheltering from the wind (choose a hotel where there is no cold current - this is important).
EGYPT IN NOVEMBER-DECEMBER IS GREAT!!!!!

The water temperature is +19+20, you can swim.
But it is uncomfortable to get out of the water, the breeze and cool.
Be sure to wear jackets / windbreakers, jeans, etc. for the evening
But at this time it is very comfortable to attend excursions, it is not hot.
I don't recommend celebrating the New Year there.
boring, especially if you didn't bring a lot of friends with you

Of course, in Egypt in January it is cool, the breeze is blowing, you need to take warm clothes. If you are not cold, you can swim in the sea. But on New Year's Eve the price doubles, so it's better to go either before or after.

I think you can try ;)

I haven’t been to Egypt on New Year’s Eve, because I consider this holiday a family and home holiday, I know from the stories of my friends that not everyone liked to celebrate there, but everyone chooses what he wants. I was in Sharm from January 13 this year and I liked this period in Egypt the most (compared to April and November), because it is not so hot and there are not many tourists in the hotel, the weather was wonderful, it was impossible to sunbathe without sunscreen, the sea it was warm, only after 16.00 it was cool to get out of the water. In the evening, it was sometimes enough to throw on a windbreaker or a stole, so I consider the stories about warm jackets and sweaters to be an exaggeration. As for the price, I can say that it did not differ much from the usual one - the difference between April and January was 200 US dollars (more expensive in April).

Were not far from Hurghada, it was on New Year's holidays. You can swim, but you need to get used to the water. In addition, a strong wind blows, so it is better to wrap yourself in a towel when you get out of the water.

were on the new year 2008 were in Sharm. It was not cold. the wind near the sea has been, but not strong, and in the hotel all the pools are heated. If possible, then go, but on holidays prices always go up, but it's worth it!

P.S. I have a review about the trip for the new year, look and decide for yourself.

Hotel Savita is located in a rock and the territory is protected from the wind, it is not cold to get out of the water. And everyone reacts to the weather differently: in Hurghada in April in the evening I didn’t wear anything warmer than a T-shirt, and my girlfriends warmed up with woolen sweaters with a zipper. Think for yourself.

Many write about the "winter winds" in Egypt. Guys, have you ever had a rest on the Arabat Spit in the summer? :) Damn, our "summer" winds will give a hundred points head start to their "winter" winds. And the sea too. Were in the first half of December in Hurghada. Listened, read. We took jackets and sweaters. It's good that they took it. They quickly took advantage ... when they returned to Boryspil. ;)) The sea was 23, the breeze... so what. The sun is serious even in December, so at least it blows, it’s not hot. The real problem: you seem to go into the sea with caution, but you don’t want to go out at all. If the pools are not heated, then the sea after them is like fresh milk. December-January is the best time for excursions, including long ones. So who wants to see the country - just right. Well, and most importantly: at this time it is cold at home (often also slush) and cloudy days. There is sun, heat, fresh vegetables and fruits. Let the sun set earlier and there are fewer fruits than in summer, but there is no memory of this at home.
One and a half weeks of the Egyptian "winter" energize before our summer :) And I would not go for Christmas. Prices, as already mentioned, one and a half times higher, Christmas (New Year's) dinner for extra money. In my opinion it's not worth it. But this is a matter of taste.

You are right about Borispol writing. This is where warm clothes are needed. And one more piece of advice: take a warm thing in the cabin, air conditioning, especially in the tail of the cabin, enhances the feeling of the approaching homeland with its winter weather.

I support Nicholas in everything, I myself was in Egypt 5 times and only in December-January or February. I always go with a water thermometer, I measure it daily, mostly at 22-23, it’s uncomfortable to go into the water, but it’s normal to swim, it’s not cold. There are winds, but not deadly (in Hurghada), here you need to remember your hometown and you will immediately feel better from the consciousness that you are in the sun.

We were in Egypt last January. Rest just wonderful!!!! Sea Group is three hotels. Sea Life Resort 4*, Sea Gardens 5*, Sea Club Resort 5*. We went to the four, the prices are cheaper, and everything else is the same. The sea can be seen from the room, walk 3 minutes. The water in the pool is warm, the pool is large and very nice. The food is delicious, plentiful and varied! And what is very important - 8 Russian-speaking animators. We went with them to aqua aerobics and played water polo, football, step and much more. Very funny. Every evening they prepare performances, after which everyone is taken to various discos, to other hotels or beach ones. This is of course for a fee, from 5 to 15 dollars. It's worth it!!! they took us to the casino and so, to the city for a walk, (Miami Bay). There was also something for children, but we were not interested, because. did not take them with you. I also want to note that since this is a group of hotels (3pcs), then you can go to eat, swim and have fun in any !!!! Oh, and one more thing: there are additional 4 restaurants with different cuisines, and three free visits (not to each, but in general). Of course, we went for free, we liked everything. In general, we had enough of our three, because it is VERY TASTY !!!!!! AND VARIOUS.

Were at New Year's Eve 2019, it's cold. We swam every day, but it’s cold to get out of the water, tanning is bad, you can lie under the sun all day, and you won’t even get warm if you don’t wrap yourself in a towel. After three it is already quite cold, in the evening you need to wear a down jacket. In general, I do not recommend
