The sea in Mars in January + 22-23C. Good hotels with good sea views: Hilton Nubian, Brayka (any of 3), Steigenberger Coraya, Jaz Lamaya/Samaya.

Shams Alam. Nice entry, beautiful reefs. You can always swim

Definitely Brayka Bay! There, even in a storm and wind, you can have a relatively comfortable rest! The entrance is excellent!

And how is it clear with the sunset, but with the quality of the reef ... what advise?
Senks and good luck

I really liked NG at The Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort 5*.
There is no "entry" - you need to go down from the pier. But there are 3 descents: one at the end, like everyone else, and 2 in the middle. One in a large lagoon with corals and one in the "paddling pool".
But if you swim and look at fish and corals for 2-3 hours (like me), then I strongly recommend a wetsuit - full with long sleeves and legs - no thinner than 3mm.

So it's windy in winter, isn't it?
аватар bk003
Yes, it is always windy in Egypt in winter. But the wind does not interfere with sunbathing - it is hot on the beach during the day.
In the evening, wear a light jacket/windbreaker.

Last year we were in Somabei in December. The wind is so strong that it is impossible to swim in the sea. In February, we are also going to Egypt with a large company. Judging by the heap of material I studied, in winter it is better to go somewhere in the Sharma area. I would not like to fly past the sea just like last time. Therefore, for reliability (there may be children with us, we don’t know yet) I looked after two bays for myself, Sharks and Naama. And in Mars it's better at the end of spring ...

There will be almost no wind in Nyama - it is well covered. And the shore there is sandy, with a smooth entrance. Maybe small children will not be bad.
BUT I don’t advise you to go there for the sake of fish - the beach is not big, a lot of people, noisy, muddy water, no corals ...
Only if a youth company for the sake of parties ...
I haven't been to Shark. Judging by the map, it is also well covered, especially if the northern part of the bay is where Royal Rojana is - the wind is always exclusively from the north.
Hotels in Soma Bay are well closed from the wind, but most are very expensive ...

What hotel was in Soma Bay? There, even in the Sheraton, which is on the very corner, the wind is usually not felt.
Or maybe it was just a very windy year - I was not in Egypt last year. I hung out in India.

Amvazh. Just got lucky with the weather.

bk003 often in Fairows you could swim from the third descent in NG? I was at the end of October - in a week the third descent was opened 2 times. And the first and second are not very interesting
аватар bk003
The first one is really not interesting - it's a paddling pool.
And about the second one, I categorically disagree - two meters from it begins a large lagoon with beautiful corals and fish. The lagoon is actually completely closed and when there is a storm on the sea there are no waves in it.
For 10 days on NG (I think 2012-13), the last descent was closed a maximum of 2 times - I don’t remember exactly. But the waves were still almost every day. My wife, fearing the waves, swam with great pleasure in the lagoon from the second descent.
аватар Tana999
bk003, yes, from the second descent the lagoon is big, but in beauty it loses to Shams. In Shams, the corals are much more beautiful and there are more fish. But Shams, although a four, is more expensive than Fairose.
But I would now go to any hotel, in Mars, in the sea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mars has a good bay in Braika. The house reefs are also good.
