After recent events, does it make sense to fly to NG to Sharm, so that you don’t sit in a hotel alone, as in Hurghada last year. Please advise hotels.

Planes fly safely to Sharm from:
- Ukraine;
- Poland;
- Italy;
- Belgium.
Tourists move around the resort without restrictions.
To make it interesting to go outside the hotel, you need to choose nearby:
- Nabq promenade;
- Soho Square;
- Naama Bay;
- Old town - El Mercato.

If you are asking if there is any point, then of course there is no point. This is no longer a vacation, and not a holiday, when you are in constant tension, or you are constantly reminded that there is a nix around and that no one would relax. Do you need it? If it doesn’t matter, then it’s better to rebuild this new year and spend the holidays elsewhere. And then ... and then we'll see. Our family decided to do just that.
аватар orhideya21
We calmly walked everywhere last year during the nix and checks.
аватар bk003
What was wrong with Hurghada last year? I didn't notice anything. My daughter and I had a wonderful time.
This year, if you fly, then you can get tickets yourself, and not through an operator - this is a minus. But a huge plus is the absence of drunken hysterical compatriots.
If you treat the question as semolaine, then you really should not fly. And if you tune in to a normal rest, then everything will be fine.

I have been resting in sharm since November 1st. Of course, Egypt is still beautiful, the sea is wonderful, but when the hotel was empty before our eyes, it still bothered me. I think that it is necessary to fly for those who purposefully want to have fun from half-empty hotels and see this as an advantage. If you are not one of them, then you should wait.
аватар Pachok
bk003, what do you think, if the passengers of the blown up plane "tune in for a normal rest", then "everything would be fine"?
IMHO, Egypt used to be dumb in terms of security, and now even more so. And to fly or not, it's up to you to decide, all the advice here will be subjective and useless.

Thank you!

Pachok, I am deeply convinced that if one plane out of 10-15 of ours and the same number of non-ours that flew daily was blown up, then this is no reason to deny yourself the warm sea and beautiful colored fish.
The purpose of the terrorists is not to kill 200 people, but to intimidate millions. And if many were frightened and changed their plans, they achieved their goal.
I was not afraid and no doubt would have flown to Egypt for the new year. Right now, when everyone is afraid. But tickets to India were bought in advance.

If you want relaxation, then it’s worth it, if a party for the new year is important to you, then you should pay attention to popular hotels.
There are many dumb countries, in fact, in each country you can find a reason not to go there. Travelers need to make the decision.

bk003, you did not answer my question - how could "mood" affect the fate of passengers?
The dangers of holidays in Egypt have been discussed constantly since the Arab Spring. And there are always arguments that "it is now that we must go, security measures have been strengthened," a shell does not hit the same crater twice," and the like.
It's the same about Tunisia - they have been talking constantly for several years now that it is dangerous, that other countries should be chosen. But tourists "are not afraid!" and hello, waited for the shooting of two hotels.
As for me, you have to be a fanatical fish lover or a lover to tickle your nerves in order to go now to poor Arab countries.

We happened to vacation in Egypt 4 years ago in April after their revolution. We also wondered if it was worth going there. In a huge hotel at the time of arrival there were only 120 tourists (out of 2000 possible). There were mostly tourists only from Ukraine and a little from Belarus, who flew through Ukraine. At the end of our vacation, Germans, Canadians and Russians also appeared. There were 6 animators (from Ukraine and Russia) - they devoted time to everyone. In the evening, we were entertained as best they could - either the Candlelight Night beach party, or the BBQ dinner by the pool with the Belly Dance entertainment program for women and men, huge tuna were grilled, they gave a lot of seafood ... In principle, it was comfortable to rest, everyone greeted each other. Only one strained - it is often military aircraft flying very low. But we never regretted that then we went to rest and had a great rest. In your case, the decision is yours alone. ;-)
аватар sent2008
Pachok, I completely agree with you!
But the decisive factor in choosing Egypt is not a wild love for fish, or a lack of adrenaline, but a desire to relax for a penny, since prices are nowhere lower now, it doesn’t matter that you have to risk yourself, and even more so your children - they will give you seafood, dance, dance, pour, what more could you want. In fact, there is a war going on in the country, before the war there were also cases of tourists being taken hostage, a terrorist attack was committed half a month ago, well, this is not a reason to refuse the sea and the sun. In Phuket in December 2004, when not all the corpses had yet been found and buried, many flew - not to disappear the same plans and holiday mood.
Everyone has different opinions, but I closed Egypt for myself and my family many years ago and one of the reasons was the complete lack of screening of passengers and luggage at Hurghada airport.

Pachok, what are you doing in the topic about "poor Arab countries"? Do you teach others how to live?
On the subject - of course, if the celebration of the new year for you is 1000 foreign Russian-speaking people around, Russian-speaking karaoke and imitation of hodgepodge and Olivier salad in the main restaurant - you will have to postpone the trip. Fortunately, there will be nothing like this in Egyptian hotels this December. But there will be many other, no less festive and pretty. Especially if meeting the New Year under the palm trees around the Red Sea has become a good tradition for your family. And don't be afraid of anything. We returned from there 5 days ago. Now in Egypt is just fine!
аватар Pachok
Well, 230 tourists did NOT return from there 18 days ago, rest in peace :(
Decide only for yourself.
аватар prosto2000
I am surprised by people who treat terrorist attacks as some kind of stochastic events.
Correctly wrote bk003 - in Egypt they have already achieved their goal.
Pachok, where are you going to NG. Maybe in "safe" London?
аватар prosto2000
It was right to ask: Maybe in "safe" and rich London?
аватар orhideya21
About the second part of the question about hotels. What are your preferences and costs? If so far without it, then Sierra. Very solid hotel and there is a way out - Soho Square. Entry to it is controlled by security, dogs and cameras. Everyone is searched by the left. For weapons, explosives, etc. therefore, there will be a safe place for you to leave the hotel. Lots of free entertainment. We never got bored.
аватар orhideya21
If cheaper and with normal conditions next to Soho hotels Island View, Hilton Sharks Bay, Concord Front, Aa Grand Oasis. In the evening go to Soho, walk 2-3 minutes depending on the hotel.
аватар orhideya21
Concorde is more expensive.

In Paris, people died over the plane, and in public crowded places. So why don't Parisians leave home now? If the terrorists want, they will start blowing up houses. Then you have to go to live on uninhabited islands, and there, apparently, will not be completely safe. Every time I get on a plane, I'm scared, but I still fly. Everyone decides for themselves whether to go or not. It is impossible to insure against everything bad in life. There is a good Ukrainian proverb: "If I knew where I fell, I laid the hay "
аватар bk003
sent2008, There is no war in Egypt. There is no need to mislead people with such words. Don't write about what you don't know.
It is very in our tradition, on the one hand, on the one hand, “I closed Egypt for myself and my family many years ago,” and on the other, to tell what is happening there now and give recommendations based on propaganda news.
I go there every year, regardless of all the events and I know about what is happening not by hearsay and not from TV. It's good there and there are no problems for tourists.
Pachok, I'm sorry about the loss of life, but I can't understand why the living shouldn't live on. Yes, planes do crash sometimes. Yes, they are sometimes shot down by terrorists. But the probability of being crushed by a drunken reckless driver or getting hit on the head by a drug addict is a thousand times greater. No need to be afraid to live by yourself and set others in a negative mood.

prosto2000, I want to refresh your memory if you forgot a little:
http://www.turpravda.ua/eg/hurgada/question-35849.html
The same matnra "in Egypt it is safe, safe, safe ...."
The stump is clear - now, after the explosion, it has become even safer.
If you have any questions about London, I will be happy to answer. But I think that you don’t have them, you just wanted to poke ... pinch, right? Reaction to the phrase "poor countries".
аватар Pachok
bk003, of course, the living must live farther. I do not call for abandoning rest in the name of mourning! I just do not share your position on "tuning". The mood, whatever it may be, has nothing to do with real events. Not that case.
аватар prosto2000
Pachok, you have once again confirmed how right I am in my assessments. Thank you. You have raised my self-esteem even higher. Some of the tourists, after my post 3 years ago, suffered in Egypt from the then political events, is this exactly what happened in this country?
Answer: NOBODY.
I repeat: NOBODY.
I clarify: none of the tourists from the political situation in Egypt. This factor has been discussed. There, in the branch, the phrase "political situation" is in almost every post. Sharks, terrorist attacks, wars in Syria, the participation of countries in regional wars, the general safety of life in Egypt were not discussed. There can be no safe country in which the president was killed right on the parade. The security of being in the resort area was discussed precisely in the light of the ongoing political events in Cairo.
Then, in the same way, the townsfolk were hysterical, losing money and rest, and the authorities forbade flights (they have such a function). And only a few calmly and reasonably assessed the situation.
The issue currently under discussion is at the top.
аватар prosto2000
Pachok, so where are you for the New Year?
Or can it be simpler - where is it safe to fly on New Year's Eve?
аватар prosto2000
About poor and rich countries. You don't understand, I didn't mean to tease you. Just (2000) You made some connection between the wealth of the country and the level of security in it. I hinted in this form that the events in Paris showed that security does not depend only on this indicator.
And the fact that the terrorists arrived in Paris from Belgium once again indicates that the organizers of the attacks are seriously working on the place and object of their conduct in order to achieve maximum public outcry. It was much easier and safer for them to spend everything in Belgium. But the effect would not be the same.
Therefore, bk003 and I affirm that they have already achieved their goal in Egypt.
PS. This time I am not discussing the political situation in Egypt, the possibility of shark attacks, the technical condition of our carriers' fleet, the reliability of insurance companies and operators, and other safety factors for a trip to Egypt.

I'm at home for the New Year, in Kyiv. These are family circumstances. If it were possible to leave on these dates without a child, then the list of countries would be headed by Poland, the Czech Republic, Finland and Austria. Would consider the UAE, Oman, Madeira, Azores. If all of a sudden more money came in, we would be happy to visit Singapore, the USA and Canada. With a two-year-old child - only Poland.
And, yes, there are no absolutely safe countries. As well as flying by plane is always dangerous. There are only bigger risks or smaller ones.
I repeat, a poor ARAB country is a huge risk. I will emphasize the word "Arabic", since it was precisely this word that dropped out of our dialogue with you, leaving only "poor". It is strange to deny that the security measures in Egypt and the UAE are simply incomparable. There are some obvious things - if the security at the airport is bad, then this is the weak point that is used. If Putin really needs to help Assad, then all passengers on international flights of Russian airlines automatically become potential victims of terror.
аватар Pachok
And it would also be nice to refrain from visiting France, as well as other countries of the "anti-igil", for some time. Which, by the way, we did.
аватар sent2008
bk003, are you a moderator of this site? If “yes”, it would be nice to add tact, if “no”, then it’s even easier: if you don’t like the opinions of others, don’t read. I expressed my point of view and your ignorance is indifferent to me. "It's good there and there are no problems for tourists," that not all nonsense has been written yet?
"Thanks. You raised my conceit even higher” cheap trolling prosto2000. Problems with self-esteem? This is for a psychologist.
аватар semolaine
Gentlemen and bk003 in particular, are you delusional! A downed plane is not a reason to cancel the holiday? You say that terrorists want to intimidate people. Yes, consider me that they were intimidated, I am a simple tourist and I don’t need to prove to the muddy Arabs that I’m not afraid of them. I want to rest and only, but let others prove it in another place
