there is a bus service between hurghada and luxor, if you want you can rent it in hotels (if there is one, since it’s difficult with this means of transportation) and be prepared for the fact that you won’t be able to find a bike. you will have to leave the bike at the bus stop (no one guards anything there, so the chain and lock can be your protection). and the mileage there is decent, I don’t remember exactly, but in my opinion it will be a dozen kilometers.
