Dear experts, help with advice!
Dear forum users, please help with advice!
We are going to Egypt approximately from January 10 to January 25, husband and wife. Before that, they had not been to Egypt, English was once at school. Let's take a package tour to a 3 * hotel in Hurghada with breakfast, since taking into account the flight, it is still cheaper than the cost of an independent flight.
Planned route by day: 1) check-in at the hotel in Hurghada; 2) acclimatization with an excursion on a submarine; 3) departure with an organized group to Luxor and, having warned the guide, lagging behind the group, settling in some hotel in Luxor; 4) self-guided tour - Luxor, Karnak, Valleys of the Kings and Queens, to see all this calmly and without haste; 5) a trip to Abydos (Osirion) and, if possible, to Dendera, at night we plan to go along the Nile towards Aswan; 6) stops

6) stops during the cruise in Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo, arrival in Aswan and stay at the hotel; 7) independent excursions around Aswan; 8) trip to Abu Simbel, return and overnight by train to Cairo; 9) arrival in Cairo, hotel stop preferably in Giza, all day - the pyramids and their surroundings; 10) Citadel and Cairo Museum; 11) another day for the Great Pyramids; 12) a trip for the whole day to Saqqara, Dashur, if possible, then to Abusir; 13) return to Hurghada; 14) rest; 15) flight home.
Questions for connoisseurs:
1) Is such a program possible now in principle?
2) If a package tour costs about 30 thousand rubles, then how much cash do you need to take with you? It is better to round up, let them remain.
3) Is there a need to book hotels on this route, because I really want to hope that all this is available "here and now"?
4) Is it possible now to get to Abusir, have you heard that it is practically impossible?
5) Are there any problems with Aswan-Cairo train tickets? I heard that you need to purchase in 1 day.
6) Where is the best place to stay in Cairo or in Giza, given the places to visit from 9 to 12 days and the possibility of taking a taxi for the whole day?
7) Any tips and hints hello

Are you sure that you have chosen the right moment for such trips to Egypt? I mean, the internal situation in the country. We returned from Yegi in October, so the planned excursion to Luxor was postponed until better times. The maximum that can now be obtained from Egypt, in terms of the greatest security, is a vacation at sea.

The route is interesting. Please note that it is dark from Aswan to Abu Simbel, the drive is at least two hours, they go early to have time to see everything until 10-00, then it is very hot even in November, because it is already near Sudan. At the expense of the hotel in Giza, I would not settle even if I were paid extra, the dirt is such that even locals from Cairo sympathize with those living there. Half a day is enough for the pyramids, of course, the museum is also very interesting. It’s better to spend some time in Alexandria, this is a real pearl of this country, and there are enough sights there, and the city itself is beautiful. Moreover, buses go there from Cairo, the journey is about 300 km.
аватар Lina23S
And whoever says that you need to take a taxi, there is a place in Aswan where buses gather, and those who ride in rented cars and go to Abu Simbel with an escort, I went with a group, but there were also independent tourists who traveled in a convoy of buses.

The plans are grandiose! I wish you good luck and have a good rest!!!

Thanks to everyone who has any advice.
At the moment, special thanks to Lina23S, for advice on Giza hotels, apparently you are right and some adjustments to the plan (for housing) need to be made.
Regarding the Pyramids: my wife and I are fans of the ideas of alternative history, therefore, in fact, we think that even a month will not be enough for the pyramids and EVERYTHING around them.
If a Canadian died, this is unfortunate, but given that just a month ago, a man was shot dead 30 meters from my house, then well, you can’t run away from fate. Interests: such cases - regularity or confluence of circumstances.
And for those who think this plan should be thrown in the trash. You see, a trip to these places is a DREAM, and we are well aware that if we put it off for a more stable and calm time, then apparently we just need to say goodbye to this dream, because it will only get worse. In this, I have no doubt.
Therefore, we ask those who are closest to this region - is the trip possible IN PRINCIPLE?
Thanks again, looking forward to your advice.

If you want good advice, listen to the previous ones! Have not been to Egypt - and do not! UNTIL everything settles down! Especially for the first trip to this camp!!!! You have already done it - "mom don't cry"! Even with a beach holiday, we recommend to wait a while! Better go to Tai - now it's cheap and cheerful!

The Tez Tour from Hurghada has a scheduled trip to Abu Simbel with a stop in Edfu then to Aswan, where they inspect the dam, walk along the Nile, and in the morning leave for Abu Simbel, on the way back, check in to Luxor for a papyrus factory. Think it might be more convenient for you to use this excursion in your route, and in Luxor to lag behind the group on the way back and see the Karnak Temple.
аватар PolikSVT
Lina23S, how do you like the prospect of "leaving behind the group on the way back and seeing the Karnak Temple" under the guns of a group of machine gunners? The "walk along the Nile" recommended by you may end today and tomorrow will not be as pleasant as yesterday!!!!
аватар Lina23S
Dear Polik SVT, in this case, I am answering the question posed not by you, but by a person planning his trip, if you think that it is dangerous there, then you can not go, your right. Various optimists also told me that the Sudanese steal people, and buses crash, and scuba divers drown, and so these optimists have not gone further than Kyiv to this day, and these conversations did not stop me at all from seeing Egypt from Alexandria to Abu Simbel, and from Scuba diving did not have to drown either. Anything can happen, of course, but if you perceive everything with such tragedy, then you should sit at home.

Abydos seems to have been closed to the public after the Arab Spring. Specify.
аватар HotLine
I have always been surprised by people who, having never been in the country, having a poor idea of the mentality, culture, life features, not knowing the local language, with "English - once at school", ignoring elementary safety rules, having a limited budget, are planning a stormy excursion program.
Thank God, there are fewer and fewer such people.
This is not advice. This is an opinion.
аватар Katran75
Dear HotLine, is it really possible to learn the mentality, culture, way of life using package tours and excursions, in which the main theme is visiting all kinds of factories?
And why did you decide that the budget is limited? To be honest, the planned amount for all these movements, accommodation and meals is 100 thousand rubles. Therefore, the question was asked: how much should one focus on? To either shorten the program or add an amount.
Once again, many thanks to Lina23S for the advice, we will certainly listen to them.
We hope to hear something else, as well as from other members of the forum!
Maybe someone knows more precisely about the closure of Abydos?

Now is not the best time for a sightseeing holiday in Egypt. However, God forbid that everything turned out great. There are good hotels in Kena overlooking the Nile.
I myself am a supporter of active educational recreation, even at beach resorts. Dull wallowing on the beach does not attract me much, although I set aside a couple of days for this. I like to go on car tours, not air, around Europe, as you can see a lot of interesting things.
BUT!!! I put personal safety above all else!
So think for yourself, decide for yourself ....
аватар miki08
Well, the most that is not the right time for Egypt! In the country, there is a mess on the highways, gangs of armed marauders are operating, a tourist from Canada was killed in Luxor, he probably thought the same thing that everything they write is not true. It seems that either you are pierced or you really don’t understand where you are going to go on your own.

What kind of chupacabra did this go through and gave us cons ????

Katran75, of course, some teach to swim by throwing the child into deep water.
And fly a charter to Hurghada, buy a three-ruble note, go to Luxor with a tour and jump off it, book hotels on the spot, etc. is a sign of insufficient budget.
The civilized ways are as follows.
1. Buy a cruise tour on a ship on the Nile. They are available with different layouts. Through Cairo or Hurghada. True, I do not know whether such tours survived in the post-revolutionary period. For a long time no one was interested.
2. Book a hotel in Cairo or Alexandria. Arrive, rent a car, hire a guide and go ahead with your program.
But having not been in the camp to plan such a route and method of transportation as you have, this is, to put it mildly, extreme.
аватар Katran75
Dear, HotLine, I'm waiting for exactly such hints as your last one!
Both point 1 and point 2 are very reasonable. So tell me, if you can, the cost of these methods and their possibility.
The route is really extreme, so I ask for help, I would go to wallow on the beach and would not ask anything.

For prices under item 1, please contact the agencies.
According to item 2, hardly anyone will help you. For example, I do not know people who have such personal experience in Egypt. But the costs can be estimated. Per day - $ 100 per car per day, $ 50 for a guide, $ 300 for accommodation, meals, excursions. Plus - flight, insurance. I do not think that the real amount will be much different from this. Do not fit into 100 thousand rubles.

to Katran! , 4193348. This is a serious travel agency in Cairo with branches in Hurghada and Johannesburg (South Africa). I took routes from Hurghada to Luxor, to the coral reserve in Sharm el-Naga. First, go to their website in I-net, read what they offer, maybe you will immediately find what you need, if not, contact them, they were also engaged in individual tourism. I support Notline, having never tried a simple route, I would not risk it without the help of a travel agency. contact them. I think that the option is a flight to Cairo, then along the Nile to Aswan and back with visits to various
cities along the way and they will organize excursions for you. Here is an opinion.
аватар miki08
Yes, it certainly won't work! There were such trips, I read somewhere on the Internet, but even a few years ago, when there was power and order in the country, travelers were forced to hire armed guards for such trips. And it cost a lot of money. But that's not even the point, you still won't see anything that contradicts the accepted theory of Egyptian civilization. You are not the only one who got acquainted with the works of Fomenko and were willing to check in practice, but the authorities do not allow access to artifacts that can confirm an alternative history. The man and woman are Europeans with a large amount of money by local standards, they do not know the language, well, just the perfect prey for some local bashi-bazook.
