Is there a mandatory surcharge for dinner at the hotel on New Year's Eve? How is the celebration generally organized?

Yes, there is. Almost all hotels. (price from 50 cu to 200 cu) The celebration is not like in Russia, but much more modest. Again, it all depends on the hotel, if this 5 * program will be richer and more interesting.

They will put up a tent, put up benches, cook a little more food.
Vparit for big money is rejoice and enjoy.
The animators will turn on the tape recorder and invite the dancers.

the celebration is certainly not on a Russian scale, but the service is OBLIGATORY!

in 90% of hotels this payment is obligatory. indeed, either they build a tent (everything is beautiful inside, don't worry), or they arrange it in the existing main restaurants (if capacity allows). the cuisine is very different, guest artists perform, then somewhere there is a disco, somewhere not. dress code is required. you can ask your agent about all the nuances. and if he is not in the know - ask him to contact the hotel directly (or do it yourself). there is always a contact email on the official website of the hotel.

250182 :)
contact email to which 90% do not respond
request a program - which will be sent 5 days before NY the hotel itself cannot decide on its program for the New Year until the last moment
and the rest - NEW YEAR IN EGYPT IS SUPER!

celebrated New Year 2009 at the "GRAND SHARM RESORT" hotel (then, if I'm not mistaken, it was still 5 *) the program, as for Egypt, was not bad, and the table was very impressive! There were pyramids of shrimp in human growth and lobsters , whole castles of chocolate cakes and ... what was there.

Yes, - on New Year's Eve there is a mandatory surcharge for dinner at the hotel, and very often it happens that it is not worth it.

to Plushe Monster:
I work in a 5* hotel in Sharm El Sheikh (NOT a guest relay, but in a department related to service and organization of holidays, etc.). I know from experience that the program for the New Year is approved at the end of October - November, and changes only under force majeure circumstances. Regarding the request for an e-mail - these are not empty words. A self-respecting hotel responds within 2 working days, provided that the request, request or complaint is adequate. New Year for the hotel is a fertile time, and ignoring a potential guest is to his detriment.

250182 - please tell me which hotel you work in and I will have ONE more Egyptian hotel in stock (I will add to those three that responded to requests for programs, SPA services, etc.)
basically, as I said, it either ignores or the email is invalid
I consider a request like - please tell me what will be the New Year's program? - adequate
I'm not just saying this, but from personal experience :)

thanks a lot for the replies. What is organized for children? and maybe a stupid question, but do they celebrate Christmas somehow?
аватар 250182
we had a muppet show, a magician, cartoons, Santa Claus with a bag of gifts of course, sweets (chocolate figurines, gingerbread, cookies) in our day for children.
On Orthodox Christmas there was a special dinner with a Slavic theme (only for guests from "Orthodox" - Russian-speaking countries) in a separate restaurant. The rest had dinner as usual.
