It's hot everywhere
Egypt is dry but hotter
Turkey is less hot but humid.
аватар kohanchuk2
Indeed, it all depends on how a person tolerates humidity at elevated temperatures! (Similar to Finnish and Roman saunas).

A Russian bath with which country to compare? Very interesting!
аватар papa74
With Russia)))
аватар alex45
Well, I never would have thought about it!

If the price for one level of hotels is the same price, or less, then you definitely need to go to Egypt. But you are unlikely to find such prices now in Egypt. Turkey will be cheaper in June, and the climate in Turkey in June is good! But Egypt is BETTER!!
аватар Phansoft
Definitely Egypt.
аватар kohanchuk2
and I have a plus for Egypt .... :)))

I would also choose Egypt as my favorite. (but I'll wait. papa74 scared me)
аватар papa74
Until August you can go to Egypt
I recommend good chain hotels (not Egyptian ones)
Desirable Charm

Yes, the Pope did not scare anyone! Well, a slightly tense situation in Egypt ... (still, the whole north of the continent is blazing with "revolutions"!). But even in connection with their recent events, holidays in Egypt are preferable to Turkey! The Red Sea alone is worth something!
аватар alex45
Why did you decide that there are no other countries besides Turkey and Egypt. The cheapest, or something promoted by our tour operators. Probably cheap! Montenegro, you can Morocco, if anyone loves the Arab East, otherwise these two countries and that's it!
аватар STATELY
Egypt!!!! In Turkey, June is not yet the season, it's cool for me, discos are still until 12 at night, maximum until 2. And not until 5 in the morning, as in Egypt.
аватар kohanchuk2
You see! The main thing is "discotheques"! oles9, you'd better write: what do you expect from your vacation? For example, I'm already "old" for "discotheques until 5 am" :))) and the sea, rich in the underwater world (you know, I like to dive) ..... If the priority is good service, relative European proximity and "at least some kind of sea", then Turkey is for you. If deserts with tropics, coral reefs and Of course, Egypt is better with a billion fish. Although, really, you don’t have to get hung up. Well, they say, and for the same financial investments, in Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, although, it seems to me, you won’t find Russian-speaking staff there in the afternoon with fire , and the Mediterranean Sea cannot be compared with the Red ...

I was looking for an alternative to Egypt for July. I "walked" through all the countries ... FOR MYSELF, I did not find anything that would attract MORE Egypt! In many exotic countries, this is a period of rains and hurricanes. Somewhere there are forest fires, somewhere there are floods, somewhere there are earthquakes or eruptions))) In Egypt, the climate is stable, without unpleasant surprises.
Hotels in Morocco are so-so. None of them "hooked", although I love the Arab East, and the very name of the country "Morocco" sounded tempting ... I think they need a few more years to develop the tourism industry.
Montenegro - the price is like the "de-luxes" of Turkey, but in appearance and service - "Scoop". The food there is most often not "all inclusive". That is, you will also have to spend money on food. And in June the sea warms up to 23 degrees (in Egypt at the same time +27 water). In Turkey, on the Mediterranean Sea - also +23 water in June, and +22 in the Aegean. I am generally silent about the beauty of corals and the variety of fish in the Red Sea.
The author asked for a Turkey/Egypt comparison, so let's get back to those two countries.
By air temperature in June: Turkey on the Aegean Sea +27, on the Mediterranean +30, Egypt Hurghada +33 (night +25), Sharm +37 (night 26).

Humidity is correct. Turkey is a wet steam room. Swimwear on the balcony does not dry out overnight, the body becomes sticky from sweat, some people have problems with their well-being. Although, they went to Egypt in July - they felt great!
We were in Egypt (in Hurghada) the second half of June and 3 weeks from July 11th. Both times were very satisfied. Themselves, when we went for the first time in the summer, we were afraid of the heat. It turned out that there is moderate humidity (not a bathhouse, but not completely dry either). And a pleasant breeze (it would have been worse without it). So, now we want to go again in July.
For the price: friends watched the BODRUM HOLIDAY RESORT 5 * hotel in Turkey. Compared with Dessole Pyramisa Beach Resort 5* Sahl Hasheesh (Hurghada, Egypt). It turned out that for the same amount you can relax 7 nights in Turkish, or 12 nights in Egyptian. Of course, all hotels are different in price, but the trend remains: Turkey is getting more expensive ... Especially when their main competitor (Egypt) lost some of the tourists in the revolution.
Bottom line: my husband and I and several couples of friends with whom we rested like Egypt in June and July more than Turkey!
And what you want from your vacation is up to you.

Please note that in Egypt in Sharm it is always 2-4 degrees hotter than in Hurghada. So for June, Hurghada is more comfortable (Sahl Hasheesh is possible).
аватар kohanchuk2
Well then, also pay attention: in Sharm, on the hotel beaches, the underwater fauna is always 3-4 times more diverse and beautiful than on the beaches of Hurghada hotels (Sunrise is also possible) .;)))
аватар olesy9
pleasantly surprised by the answers !! thanks for sure we are going to egypt !!
аватар olesy9
And what about a hotel in Sharm! What a recommendation, comrades! I will be glad to hear from you! Thanks in advance!
аватар kohanchuk2
I recommend Sunrise 5 * (Island View - in Sharm, Mamluk (slightly worse) - in Hurghada. If you have already decided to fly to Sharm (keep in mind - Sharm hotels under similar conditions are always more expensive than in Hurghada by $ 30-50 per tour) .Look at my review and two series of "underwater" photos about the Sunrise Island View 5 * hotel, Papa74 has a lot more reviews and more photos of the same Charm (and not only!) And hotels ... Look, study, read .. .There are hotels from very budget to high-end... Which beach is preferable? What type of food? Need a rich "house reef"? More animation? More "free" imported liquor? !!!

About the diversity and beauty of the underwater fauna of Sharma, I generally agree. But this is when compared with hotels located directly in Hurghada. And, for example, at the Citadel Azur Resort 5 * hotel, officially related to Hurghada, but actually located in Sahl Hasheesh, a VERY rich reef along the entire beach (1.5 km). We were in Sharm (including the "Underwater Space" excursion. And we rested in the Citadel. Unexpectedly, but the comparison is in favor of this hotel (for the richness of corals and fish). Moreover, in Nabq Bay (Sharm) to the reef from the beach of our hotel (Tropicana Grand Azur Resort 5 *) had to walk 800m along the pontoon, and the neighboring hotels in this area of Sharma did not have the opportunity to reach the reef at all. Here is a link to a satellite map: http://www.turpravda.com /eg/sharm_el_sheyh/Tropicana_Grand_Azure-desc12075.html#map

And in the Citadel, the reef is right along the coast (immediately): http://www.turpravda.com/eg/hurgada/Citadel_Azur_Resort-desc20561.html#map

Those who from the Citadel went on excursions to the "Paradise Island" or other marine excursions unanimously declared that the hotel has much more living creatures and a more colorful reef.
So, in Hurghada you can find a hotel with a stunning reef and wildlife!
аватар kohanchuk2
Well, "Citadel" is, of course, a separate issue. A really good hotel! But this one is rather an exception to the rule (so that there are reefs in Hurghada hotels!;))) Namely, the Nabq area (not located in a bay or lagoon, but in the open sea! ) in Sharm (where you were, Krasotas), I just can’t recommend it! (although 40-50% of Sharm hotels are located there!). I was there with friends in Rehan 5 * and on excursions ... Huge, knocking down waves + current, which is not easy for an adult to cope with!, and even for children ... Regrettably, you, Krasotas, flew to the wrong area in Sharm! (Nabk is recommended for beginners visiting Sharm for the first time). Charma should choose hotels in the bays: Sharks Bay, White Knight, Ras Nasrani, Ras Um Sid ... And the sea is almost completely calm, and the pontoons are short (30-100 meters), and corals with fish right off the coast, and shops, and the embankment of Naama, and Soho Square ... The only "civilized" places in Sharm. True, the hotels here are a little more expensive (not much) than the same ones in Nabq ... "Everything is known in comparison"!

Glorious Sharm is not Nabkom
Although if you go to the hotels (I was told here), you can meet such beauties ...
Here is my photo for you, from the height of the plane (although, like minefields, they still occur)

kohanchuk2, here you probably think that you are arguing with me. But I COMPLETELY agree with you! Moreover, thanks to our discussion, "beginners" have now learned more accurate places for snorkeling and diving, with all the nuances. And not just: in Sharm - cool, in Hurghada - bad))
Even for myself, now I will copy your text with a description of the bays! Thanks a lot!!! If only in "Sharks Bay" these very "sharks" were smaller ...
And I’ll add about Hurghada SAMU: I’m also “repelled” by the abundance of boats on its piers. Still (I suppose, plus they write in the reviews) from them fuel (or something similar) pollutes the water (possibly).
аватар papa74
"Ras Um Sid ... And the sea is almost completely calm"
Even this is debatable.
In August, I barely rowed to the pontoon.
I had to hang on acropores (coral), it was so blown away.
And it is considered almost "center".
You can get into the currents there.
Moreover, on different days they are completely opposite in direction, it’s good that at least along the reef. And not like in Nabq...
They never found a woman from C Life ...
аватар Krasotas
papa74, photo - super! But how to get there? You have to be a professional fan of reefs, and not a "teapot" of snorkeling (I am silent about diving, even more so), which I and many residents of hotels in Egypt are))
Here we are all together and specified exactly where in Egypt it is desirable to go in order to appreciate the beauty of the Red Sea, and where not.
аватар kohanchuk2
Yes, Dad, I agree, of course, I got carried away at the expense of Ras Um Sid! (I just wasn’t there). I thought you would join the discussion earlier .....
аватар papa74
Passed!
At the end of the topic "}{junk"
http://www.turpravda.com/eg/sharm_el_sheyh/question-12999.html
I myself have not been, but like $ 5 / person.
аватар Krasotas
and in Hurghada there is no such map?
