Who was in Egypt after the revolution?
Any information is interesting. how is it there? as well as excursions to famous places. Should I think about this year, or wait for better times?
Thank you in advance.

Good day! Was in Hurghada from 03/23/2011 to 04/03/2011. This is the eighth time.
Quiet in Hurghada. The hotels were half empty. Russians have not yet been allowed in by the Foreign Ministry. Now I don’t know, it seems they were allowed to take off. We had a great rest, everything is calm. I just don’t recommend going to Cairo (pyramids), there may be demonstrations in the capital (the guide in Egypt told us so) and you can get stuck in Cairo, and boat trips, Luxor - to your health !!!!
Of the minuses: because. few tourists, many shops are closed, especially near hotels. Several work and that's all ........ You won't get too worked up. But the sea, the sun))))))
I wish you a pleasant stay!!!!!!!!
Yes, I will say this, I have never had such a chic, calm post-revolutionary =)) vacation in Egypt. There are no people. The hotels are mostly Germans, who on the beach both lie down on sunbeds, and until the evening and "sleep". The beaches are almost empty .... We had only 75 people in the hotel .... And the hotel has 306 rooms, i.e. It was about 10% filled...
Waiting for more revolutions in Egypt!!! ))))))
Best regards, Dmitry

Dima70_13, I also think that if the hotel is not fully loaded, this is only a plus! The staff is better able to perform their duties (waiters, cleaners...). Easier with the choice of sunbeds. Managers strive to attract tourists, so they value those who come (this is a "live" advertisement). Settled in the best rooms of their category. And in some hotels, immediately after the revolution, they generally settled not in paid 4 *, but in 5 * (if one hotel, but buildings of different categories).
Generally,

In general, it is better, of course, that everything in Egypt calm down ... But at the moment we are seeing pluses in what is happening.

Hello! We were in Hurghada on 20.04-04.05. Teztour from Moscow. Everything is calm and excellent. The Egyptians (Russian speakers) are proud of the changes that have taken place in the country and talk about it with enthusiasm.
All types of excursions were offered without restrictions.
There were no shops and shops in the vicinity of the closed ones (maybe if somewhere in the city). Prices, in principle, did not rise.

I also liked the rest in Sharm at the end of March. The hotel was about 20% occupied. But in the restaurant, almost all the tables were occupied, the lobby was not overcrowded, there was also an eternal crowd near the bars. The hotel (El Hayat) free billiards. They couldn't get in there either. Same story around the heated pool. And I've been thinking all the time: And when there is a full load, where do people go? In the Old Town in the Feres restaurant, they waited 10 minutes for a table to be free. Shops in the hotel and in the area worked all. On the other hand, the prices are very reasonable. Such suitcases, as after revolutionary Egypt, we have not yet dragged anywhere. Yes, and ride a taxi for $ 5. from Nabq to the Old City or Naama is also more than pleasant. Country girls, resting with us at night, hung out in Naama at discos. They came in the morning. And also, no problem. All excursions were on offer. I was very pleased with the absence of a crowd of people.. And advisers here, as on Deribassovskaya. Decide for yourself whether to go or not.

my boyfriend and I traveled from 23.04 to 04.05.2011, there are a lot of tourists, excursions are all open, the sea, the air is super. Go and do not even hesitate, everything is calm and good there!

We were in Sharm at the end of March/beginning of April.
i.e. just after the "revolution"
everything is calm, the hotels are half full
the staff is even more friendly and attentive (than before)
we didn’t go on excursions, because we went for a “seal” rest
yes, and in principle, most of the excursions have been seen
