I won’t tell you a hotel, because I don’t know which resort city you are going to, but I can tell you what is worth seeing. So, I would advise you to visit Luxor (which is impossible if you are in Sharm El Sheikh) and Cairo + Alexandria. Why the latter in such a combination? Because Alexandria is beautiful, it really looks like a pearl on the fan of the general "dirt". But as far as I know, Alexandria is not sold separately, so in any case, you need to go through Cairo. The pyramids and the Sphinx are worth it...

Were with my daughter in the winter of 2007 in Hurghada. Inexpensive, but good hotel Sun & sea to the center of Hurghada 7-10 minutes on foot, to the nearest store 1 min. The beach is not big, but in winter there are few people and there are plenty of places on the beach. Reef nearby. From excursions I liked Luxor, a boat trip to a paradise island, next year I will definitely go on an excursion to Cairo + Alexandria. If you just want to relax on the beautiful sea - Charm, if you need disco, etc. - Hurghada. In Hurghada there is a chain of beach clubs Ministry of Sound - I highly recommend it. In Sharm - awesome sea and, accordingly, diving. I would not recommend the hotel, because I myself prefer not to spend a lot of money on a hotel - there is already something to spend it on.

I really liked the Sultan Garden Holliday Inn (Charm). Really very beautiful sea, large and green area. We were in February (air temperature + 25-27C, sea water + 20-22C, water in the heated pool up to + 28C). There is a desire to go there again. Have a nice rest!!!

If you just want to relax in a good hotel, check out the hotel "Concord Sport Area 5*" (2nd coastline) "Concord Front Area 5*" (1st coastline). It's in Sharm (it's warmer there). The territory is common, but the Front is more expensive. Very nice, quiet hotel! Be sure to visit "Ras Mahamed" (mangroves). From the hotel to the city there are free buses, min. 5 rides. I join the opinion of slawko. my favorite is a very small hotel "Sand Beach" next to "3 Coroners". it is practically the center of the old city. to the new city within easy reach. and opposite the hotels there is a very large hospital. Cars are not allowed to honk near the hospital. if you are not going to Egypt for the first time, then you will appreciate this advantage.
