Diving help needed
Gentlemen-submariners (divers and dirty tricks)! Tell me: I want to take a 3 mm suit and a belt with weights (4-5 kg) to Egypt, but then my wife and hedgehogs with them raised a cry that customs (especially the "ridna" Ukrainian) would not let me through because of the cargo (iron factory ones) . I understand intellectually that this should not be so, but ... Has anyone come across such a question? Were there any problems crossing the border?

Cargo cannot be carried in hand luggage (we tried to do this, the cargo was confiscated). In luggage - no problem, the main thing is that the weight is not exceeded.

Since you will be scuba diving (?), at this time of the year it would be better to take a 5mm suit, as for the cargo, leave it at home. Where you will take the cylinders, you can easily take the cargo.

The author of the question did not indicate whether he would dive with cylinders, which is why I wrote what problems might and might not.

There is no ban on the carriage of iron cargo in baggage. If only there was no overweight.

I clarify: I'm going to dive without scuba gear. 5-7 meters is enough. I'm not going to take cylinders (neither with me, nor for rent, so I want to grab "home" cargo so as not to look for it on the spot. 5mm suit? .. Why? The water is below 18 degrees? ..

It's just that if you dived to 20-25-30-... m, a five-millimeter suit would come in handy.
Cargo in baggage is packed, only the total weight did not exceed 20 kg.

everyone will miss, my divers constantly carry everything of their own. most importantly in luggage. and so that the advantage is at a minimum - cooperate with someone who flies with a small suitcase, you can weigh it together (this is if you know what the advantage is).
and we personally weighed only one luggage for the last time, the second was not counted (we put it on the tape belatedly)

Divers carry everything they own, but not cargo ...

Thank you all for your attention, but if there are no problems at the border, then I see no reason to run along the coast in search of a dive center for the sake of 4-5 kg. weight. The overweight does not scare me: the mentioned weight of the load is + 2-3 kg. T-shirts and you can fly. Up to 20 kg. still have stock :)

"Divers carry everything they own, but not cargo .."
Divers - yes, but freedivers (those who dive without a tank) must also carry cargo, because then they will not be found in Egypt. Previously, they lay in heaps on any pier and pontoon, after some cases, there is a strict ban there and you can’t find it either to rent or buy cargo if a person is going to dive on his own. Faced personally.

There will be no problems at the border.
