Recommend the hotel for a good snork in December. From Saint-Petersburg
Hello? I want to go to Egypt in December (beginning, middle).
Wishes:
1. Hotel 1 or 2 line to walk to the beach within 10 minutes. Reef, living (at least partially) corals, fish, other creatures. We are going for them!
2. We are beginner snorkelers. Therefore, we need such an option that the reefs are within reach of the hotel's beach.
3. Silence in the evening and at night. Animations, discos are not interested. And the water park is a plus.
4. Level of service: I'm not chasing stars, BUT. Normal bathroom, lack of unsanitary conditions.
5. Preferably direct flights from St. Petersburg.
6. The ideal price is 40tyr per
TWO. With HB or AI for 9-11 nights. Hoping for specials.

Braika Bay in Marsa Alam meets almost all your parameters, there is no water park there.
But the price might not be right...
And the reef is excellent. For beginners, a very good entrance to the sea.

elenako:
Will it be possible to snorkel there during the windy season?
On some days it was impossible to swim out of the bay even in October because of the waves, and there was a murk in the bay itself.

The last time we were there, the storm was all over the coast, diving was canceled, and as it turned out, many hotels hung the flag, but we still snorkeled a little. There was mud, but you could still swim.
I don't think it's worth sailing out of the bay in such weather. Although several times the sea was so calm that I swam to the left from the bay and swam God knows where without any effort.

Tiran Island Hotel - a very cool reef, stretching for several hotels (you can swim for hours), very colorful, a lot of fish, baited Napoleons, big fish can be seen early in the morning or in the evening.
As a diver and connoisseur of Egypt, I can safely say that the best reef I have seen (of course, near the hotel, you can’t compare with diving)
The hotel itself is on the 2nd line. Walk to the sea 5 minutes, a free bus runs every 15 minutes, we almost did not use it, we walked.
There is no water park, the hotel is small, quiet, without discos, noise and din
The hotel is new in 2009, beautiful design, rooms are new, clean and well maintained.
The main disadvantage of the hotel is that in October there were a large number of people, so there were long queues at the restaurant and problems with sunbeds on the beach.
Also in the hotel food was monotonous, but quite edible. For those who do not set themselves the goal of overeating, for those it is quite normal. The main plus of this hotel is a great coral reef.
Nearby there are other hotels with the same reef, you can consider them: Melia Sinai, Baron, Montazah.
I can’t tell you about the infrastructure of these hotels, I only know that the Baron is very expensive
Good luck

And what hotels compared, if not a secret?

Three hotels meet your wishes, located side by side in the same bay, closed from the winds. ..

I agree with Magdeline, Tiran Island Hotel is a very beautiful reef, colorful corals, a lot of fish, swam for hours. And the beach is very close, 1 minute by bus, 5-6 minutes walk, the hotel is without any bells and whistles, but clean and quiet, everything is new (2009), the rooms are spacious, the view is either the sea or the mountains. see my review of this hotel.

Dreamer, compared with the Gardens coral reef (Continental Garden Reef Hotel) - excellent in terms of large living creatures, but dead in places.
Also a good reef Shark Bay (AA Grand Oasis hotel), but not so long.
The rest are not worth attention, from those where I was.
I give recommendations in the passages of Sharm el-Sheikh.
For a couple traveling for the first time, Tirana is best - the whole reef is colored there, the eyes run wide, although there are a little less large living creatures than in Gardens.
Also, the reef is very long, so you can swim for hours, see what is not in Sharks Bay

Let me clarify my question for you. I am a fan of reefs and every time I try to find something even better than it was "last time". That's why I follow such branches and ask those who have been and have a lot of places, what and with what to compare.
The search led me to Marsa Alam, after which I no longer strive for Sharm as I used to, since I liked the reefs in Marsa Alam much more.
But I haven’t been to the Tiran Island area, that’s why I’m asking - are there hotels in Mars, Taba and Dahab on your list, and why are they worse than Tiran Island?
