Dahab or Taba???
Advise which resort to choose. Not an easy task - you want a convenient entrance to the sea, along with a beautiful coral reef nearby. Thank you. Have a good summer everyone!

I rested 2 times in Dahab and was very pleased. It seems to me that those who are going to Jerusalem on an excursion need to go to Taba, the rest can be found in Dahab, which is also twice as close. But it’s more difficult to combine a good entrance to the sea and corals. There is a Koralia hotel in Dahab, there is sand and a gorgeous entrance to the sea, but I don’t know how many reefs there. We rested in Happy Life, the reefs there are awesome, and the descent into the sea from the pier did not interfere.

I would advise you not Dahab and not Taboo, but Marsa Alyam. A convenient entrance to the sea, along with a beautiful coral reef nearby, is the Braika Bay hotel.
I haven’t been to Taba, but we dived in Dahab - it’s very windy there, the entrance to the sea is mainly from the pontoon, the corals are, yes, beautiful. We were at the Blue Hall.

Actually, it's always windy in Dahab. This is a resort for surfers. Taba is a good resort. Israel has nothing to do with it. That is, if there were no excursions to Jerusalem, then in Taba you can still have a good rest.
But if you are an adherent of snorkeling, then of course no resort can be compared with Marsa Alam. The only and big drawback is a great distance from Hurghada, and in general from civilization. There are usually no charters to Marsa Alam Airport, because. the airport is private. It seems that last year there were flights from Moscow 1 time in 2 weeks. Now, I don't know. And from Hurghada to the hotel to go 220 - 350 km. Depending on the hotel. Because There is no resort as such. There are hotels along the route at a distance of about 20 - 30 km. And around the virgin desert and untouched sea. The beauty! But because of the long transfer, Marsa Alam is more expensive than other resorts. Personally, I can recommend hotels: Coraya, Lamaia, Resta Reef, Resta Grand. But the best in my opinion is Shams Alam.
Only it is the farthest (to the south). From Hurghada about 350 km.

Shams Alam is not a resort. This is a diving hotel. With rather spartan conditions, no animation, no opportunities for sports. With modest food. The reef near the hotel is also not gorgeous - to see something interesting - you have to swim on the zodiac with divers. Do not compare it with the Iberoels (Coraya, Lamaia, etc.) And the road is at least four and a half hours. Or even seven (!) If not an individual transfer. In Resta Reef and Resta Grand, if there is a strong wind, then a black flag, and forget about snorkeling. Only in the pool :)

elenako, isn't it windier in Mars than in Dahab?

Last year, I also faced such a choice ... And I settled on Taba ... I don’t regret it at all ... we really liked it ... the hotel was Tobia boutique. And this year we will visit Dahab. So feel free to go. ..have a lot of fun...

Were in Taba - a lot of fun: silence, gorgeous reefs, calm sea, proximity to Israel and Jordan.

Dreamer_0x01, we rested in the bay of Mars, there was no wind. And we even liked it very much.
It was still windy in Dahab, but we had a purposeful dive at the Blue Hall there.
