I did not go to Cairo, but I can give a couple of tips about the bus. Try to get a pillow of a specific horseshoe shape, it will not allow your head to fall on your side and you will be able to sleep while sitting in the bus seat. Wear comfortable shoes or take slippers on your feet. At stops, try to move as much as possible. Be sure to eat hot food and drink tea or water. Then the trip will be much easier.

We were picked up from the hotel at 2 am (we were the last ones picked up by the bus) at 8 am we were already in Cairo. The tour included a visit to the national museum, a sightseeing tour of Cairo, the pyramids, a papyrus factory, a perfume factory, a jewelry store and lunch at an excellent restaurant on the banks of the Nile (buffet, but without drinks, they are EXPENSIVE there!!!!) So you definitely need to go, the pictures alone are worth it! :) By the way, in our hotel a group of comrades bought a tour in the old town for $50. Remained zhudko not happy!
