Hurghada is very decent and clean. Don't lose the main thing with the hotel, and the city is no worse than the rest. Especially if you want to travel on excursions (we traveled all over Egypt), then from Hurghada it is closer than from the same Sharm to the sights. The sea is wonderful and the coast is smooth and clean. So don't hesitate about the city itself :)

Bad reviews? this is due to the fact that someone is chasing cheapness, and takes some half-board thread, in the city in the hope that he only needs the sea, and where to live is not so important !!! and then he comes home and starts saying that Egypt is ..., that Hurghada is ..., and what else can he say !!! Highly recommend not to save on the hotel! and go on an all-inclusive package. Albatros hotel chain, highly recommend!!! Aqua Blue in particular, the best combination of price and quality! =)
