What about a reef wall? Why not a bay? Here in the cheapest Pennsy, it’s just an amazing bay. Anything. Turtles, octopuses, manti, a trifle for every taste. Unfortunately there are no dolphins and dugongs (((
And in the neighboring five-star Novotel there is nothing at all, nothing at all !!! Just a blunt reef wall.
In general, for some reason we all climb some kind of wall. Hooray!!!

I also didn't quite understand something about this wall.
Sailing from any bay into the open sea, you will find yourself at the reef wall. If there is no bay, you go down from the pontoon, parallel to the coast - a reef wall.

I agree with those who write that the bay has its own charm. There are wonderful coral gardens with many inhabitants and it is a real pleasure to swim there. And the reef wall has its own beauty and its own rarities. I saw both in the charm. I swam in the gardens for 3-4 hours. And admired the reef wall no less. Unfortunately, I have not yet been to Marsa Alam and therefore I read the local comments on the topic with interest :))

oz.ivan2013, if it's not difficult, please share your impressions of specific Sharma reefs. I, in turn, can send you my maps of all paid and free beaches of Sharm created for several long stays in Sharm

If the family has snorkelers (bay) and free divers, they need a wall and at least 20 meters))
аватар kvitka7m
I don’t understand the wall))) .. probably to each his own .. I like it more when you see the bottom .. 5-7 meters all living creatures are in sight .. between gardens with corals and digging at the bottom) and so on ...

oz.ivan2013 tell me = where are the gardens in Sharm to swim for 4 hours .... unfortunately now the reefs there are not the same as they were 5-7 years ago .. they are dying

Rested in Marsa Alam in October 2021. at the Three Corners Fayrouz Hotel. Almost all the time the outer reef was not allowed because of the waves. On the way to the port of Ghalib, several times we met blackfin sharks, bracken, moray eels, many large short-spined urchin fish. Lots of snorkeling in Mubarak Bay, where I was lucky to swim with a dugong. While looking for a meeting with a dugong on a sandy bottom, you can meet 1.5 m green turtles, beautiful ringed stingrays, guitarfish, bracken, left-eyed spotted flounders and crocodile fish. I went with a guide Olga from Marsa Alam to three reserves: to the Sataya reef, to the Sharm el Luli reserve and to the Abu Dabab reserve. Swim with dolphins on the Sataya Reef. Sharm El Luli has a stunningly beautiful reef with many soft corals. In the Abu Dabab reserve, the kingdom of green turtles and a beautiful reef with eagles. I want to say that I went on another excursion, not with Olga, to another reserve, to the Hamata Islands, summary: next time I will go only with her. Excursions of course saved the situation with snorkeling.

"Blackfin sharks were met several times, .. "))) - well, just the fairy tales of Scheherazade))
аватар sharkblu
And you look at other resources, reviews of other people. Blackfin sharks are not rare there and many of them see
аватар ser_____Witness77
yeah ... otherwise I didn’t swim there for 2-3 hours and didn’t dive and I don’t know what is rare there, and what can’t be found near the coast at all)
аватар Andrey111
ser_____Witness77, but what if, while swimming somewhere, you did not meet certain representatives of the underwater fauna, does this mean that they can never be there?
аватар ser_____Witness77
there is such a theory of probability - I recommend that you familiarize yourself (at least in general terms) ... after that you begin to understand which of the stories should be taken as fairy tales ... or a viral advertisement for tours to Marsa Alam;) ... personally, how many sharks have you seen in Marsa Alame?

Reef sharks are not unusual, they are common on the house reef. Another question is that they can swim close, but you won’t notice them, they swim quickly, merge with the environment, you have to turn your head constantly to notice them. Blackfin met 5 times, always on the outer reef, mostly on the way to the port of Ghalib. By the way, they are not dangerous. And I don't understand your surprise at the presence of an apex predator on the house reef. That's just without them there is a threat to the well-being of the reef.
I recommend watching the dock movie Sharks: Masters of the Underwater World 2013 or Rob Stewart's 2006 film: "Sharks" for general education

There are more than 260 dives behind me, often on a dive I am the first to see the most interesting and rush headlong in that direction, and the dive guide gives a signal behind me;) my habit, I don’t pay attention to all kinds of fry and nemo fish in anemones at all ... last time I saw a lot of turtles, needle-rays, even dolphins on Mars, but sharks NEVER ... although not so long ago in Sharm I encountered her near El Fanara;) ... therefore, I perceive such tales as tales of fishermen about what size of them "caught" fish)

Excuse me, do you have anything better to do? Imposing a label on complete strangers that for the sake of a stupid option to assert oneself by lying is at least impolite. Do you feel sorry for your time for this kind of controversy? While Egypt was closed, I swam with these sharks daily on other reefs where they passed by every 10-15 minutes. I never thought that such an ordinary fish would cause you to incontinence distrust of people.

So you’re lying so far - I have irrefutable proofs (links below) of whom and when I saw, and you, apart from the usual grandmother’s chatter on benches at the entrance, I haven’t seen anything yet;) ... WHERE ARE YOUR photos / videos of sharks that you seen almost every day)) ?

Dear members of the forum, if anyone is interested in the fact of the presence of sharks on the reef of the 3 Corners Fairose hotel, here is another review from a tourist from a respected country, where it is written in Russian about a reef shark:
