Let me share my impressions of our 14th holiday in Egypt, I will try to be objective.
Choosing a hotel: the decisive factors are price / quality and the presence of a good house reef. Due to the presence of an interesting reef, the choice fell on "Siva Port Ghalib5 *" (after last year's vacation at the "Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4 *", which is located across the bay). As for the price, our tour operators have limited flights and raised the price so significantly, so I can’t say that the price corresponds to the quality like a year ago.
Transfer: flight Kyiv-Hurghada about 4 hours, transfer to the hotel Hurghada-Port Ghalib also about 4 hours.
Settlement: met at the reception with cool juices. Despite the fact that this hotel is a priority for our tour operator and relatively many people came to it, they settled very quickly in a room on the 1st floor overlooking the garden.

Number: I read that the entire Port Ghalib complex was built by a company from Kuwait. This is noticeable, the rooms were definitely designed by the same architects as the rooms of the Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4 *. The room is decorated in an oriental style, with a hanging chandelier, mosaics and stained glass windows. Dimensions and decoration are more like 4 *. The room consists of the bedroom itself with a large bed with a small guest area (sofa, table), a table, mirror, pouffe, TV, mini-bar. From the room there is an exit to the "washing" area, on one side of the washbasin there is a shower room behind glass, on the other side there is a toilet. Everything is not new, but it worked properly. Again, as in "Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4 *", struck the door to the toilet. It is more aesthetic than practical, it does not reach the floor and ceiling. The hood in the toilet is good, but there is no soundproofing, for romantic couples who have not previously lived together can be a problem)))). Shampoos, conditioner, shower gel and soap are replenished. Beach towels are changed daily in the room, which is very convenient. In general, I would like to say the following about the room: everything is not very new, not very modern, but it is quite acceptable for relaxation. The cleaners did not try as hard as in some other hotels, but there are no particular complaints about cleaning.
Hotel and territory: 3 hotels together form a single complex Port Ghalib. The territory is large and flourishing. There is a lazy river, you can lie on the circle and drift. There are 2 small slides. We did not use the pools, because came to the sea. Outside the territory within walking distance of the promenade with shops and cafes. Very interesting to walk in the evening.
Food: despite the savings, food is at a very decent level. No frills, but you won't go hungry either. Sometimes there were really delicious dishes. Meat and fish dishes are always present. The choice is normal. Breakfasts are standard. Not enough fruit for lunch and dinner. All food is very fresh, there was never any poisoning. There is a separate corner for Italian dishes. Fresh pizza and pasta available daily. The main restaurant has a coffee machine for breakfast. Good selection of teas and coffees.
Fast food is served by the pools and at the beach bar. The quality is very good, if anyone likes. You definitely won't leave hungry.
Bars: lobby bar, pool bars, 2 beach bars. The all-inclusive system operates from 10-00 to 24-00. Large selection of local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There is a cocktail card. I liked the bottled beer that they open in front of you. The bartenders are great, service is fast, first come first served, polite.

Service: in all the hotels of Marsa Alam, where we were, the service is at a very high level. This hotel is no exception. The staff is great. All employees are very attentive and friendly, everyone sincerely smiles at you and cheers you up, they show respect and attention to guests. Tipping is not asked for, but if you give, they will be happy. I would like to praise and thank absolutely everyone: waiters, bartenders, chefs, receptionists for the wonderful service and of course the top management for organizing the quality work of the staff. Special thanks to the team at the lobby bar. I would also like to say thanks to the guest service: the girls help absolutely in all matters, they are very friendly and competent. We felt like honored guests. Thanks a lot!
Animation Entertainment: there is a Russian-speaking team of animators. There is a daily sports program, in the evenings they organize various competitions and shows. Those who are interested will not be bored.
Beach: the hotel is located on the first line from the sea, sunbeds, mattresses, fences from the wind are enough for everyone, the beach is clean, there are trash cans and ashtrays. There are 2 bars. Entrance to the sea on a solid stationary pontoon, 250 meters. Volleyball, bocha and darts are played on the beach.
Sea: the entrance to the hotel's pontoon is located just north of Port Ghalib, the sea in front of the hotel is open, sometimes there is a storm and the pontoon is closed for swimming. However, this is not a problem for sea lovers, a little closer to the port there is a pontoon of another hotel, The Palace Port Ghalib, where the sea is always calm. Entrance to the pontoon of neighbors without obstacles. Going even deeper into the port, you can enter the water along the sand.

The port itself is a long bay with bridges. There is no storm at all in the bay, and this allows you to swim in any weather. If you sail towards the port, the corals are very bright and lively (thickets of fan coral, soft coral, porous coral, brain coral, etc. ), visibility is excellent when there is not much plankton. There are a lot of living creatures, especially small colored chromis, swallows, squirrels, soldiers, cardinals, cesium and goldfish. Already at the exit from the bay we saw 3 gorgeous rayed lionfish. Among the large inhabitants of the coral, we saw: rhinoceros, titan triggerfish, giant moray eel, arotrons and hedgehog fish, stone fish, crocodile fish, schools of blue-spiked rhinos, pseudo-balists, sweetlips, grunts, flutes, perches, colored groupers, schools of mackerel, etc. . d. etc. Reef turtles live on the reef. If you swim from the pontoon to the north to the wild beach near the residence, then the corals are less colorful, but there are many large fish, for 1 swim we saw 3 titanium triggerfish at once. Opposite the wild beach, sometimes dolphins and even sharks come to the coral. Aquarium!
We also swam across the bay to the old familiar coral of the Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4 * hotel, met already native turtles and all last year's beauty. The corals of Port Ghalib are some of the most beautiful in the Red Sea!
Leisure: the hotel is located in the most beautiful place of Marsa Alam - Port Ghalib, this is a resort within a resort. It's great to walk here in the evening, admiring the luxury yachts, or relax in one of the cafes. We went to the restaurant "Divino", which is at the end (when viewed from the hotel) of the embankment. For a very reasonable price (about 25 US dollars for 2) they took a plate of the freshest and most delicious seafood (lobster, shrimp, squid, mussels, fish), a glass of white wine and a hookah. Had a great time.
Excursions: again went to the Sataya reef to see the dolphins. Again, we got amazing emotions from communicating with these creatures in wildlife at arm's length. Communication with dolphins charges with positive for a long time.
General impression of the hotel: if the main thing for you is a wonderful reef with marine life and excellent service, then this hotel is what you need. If you are looking for luxurious rooms and a territory for kilometers, delights in food, then you are not here. We will definitely come back if competition among tour operators increases and prices go down.
